      Hi DQ!
      Thank you! My son and I fish, and I’ve rented boats for 45 years. My son and I figured we could find something we could build on little by little since we had modest money. We looked for about a year and discovered Whaly. It’s great fir beginners and professionals alike. We did our videos because we found no content on some of the things that we put in ours, and now it’s kinda become a beginners site. I’m still learning and we consider ourselves beginners but we show the good and bad. If you every want a Whaly call Whaly USA ask for Kearn or Roy tell them George sent you. They are the greatest guys. When I was trying to figure out how to rig my motor, I could call him, he’d answer and talk me through a fix. Now I’m passing it on. More videos to come soon too!
      Peace
      G

      Well only you can be sure. Don’t let anyone tell you what is right or wrong. For my son and I, Whaly was a great quality, inexpensive boat we could do a lot with. You can do it your way. Our videos are about what we wanted. Get an idea then do what you want! Peace, G

      Hi JB!
      The console is sold as an accessory with the Whaly we bought it at the same time as the boat

    I have the same boat! Just picked it up last month and added an Evinrude 60. How do you like the seats you added? I’m still working out how to add seating without taking up too much space.

    • @sasquatchga1401
      @sasquatchga1401  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love the seats. I’m a bit disabled and the seats in conjunction with the pedestals provide an air ride like experience. Also they provide a similar function as a leaning bolster. The seat as you see bolted down was 299 from tempres and the pedistals were 85 bucks each from Amazon. Air rides are around a grand or so? For my son and I they’re great. Additionally tempres has the single seats matching with a quick release mount that we got for about 120. We mounted it to a cooler and it makes a great swivel seat with cooler and or storage below. We also added deck tie downs so if the weather/waves are rough that seat can be attached to the deck. If roominess is important, you could get shorter peristalsis and mount to a cooler with the tempres seats and a deck tie down then you could always remove if you needed the space. We originally were going to do that until we realized we didn’t need that amount of functionality. The way we have it arraigned, we have ample room for 3 to fish and relax. Good luck hope you enjoy your boat.

    Btw how is the Bimini top? I've been reading some reviews mentioning that the fabric fade out pretty soon? What made you opt for the stainless replacements instead of the plastic that came with it, just better strength/durability?

    • @sasquatchga1401
      @sasquatchga1401  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi DtF!
      The Bimini is great. No fade no weakness, we’ve used it a lot last year and this year. It has a few years warranty 6 or 7 I think. It feels just as good as any other cloth I touched on any one else boat. The top was 150 bucks or so with plastic fittings. The stainless replacements were under 20 bucks. I swapped the main contact points last year new, the others I’m waiting till if the plastic fails an I’ll replace those then. I saw reviews where cheap stuff gets bad reviews. I look at over all reviews. If there are a couple bad but mostly good I trust them. If they’re mostly bad and some super good for balance I don’t trust them. When we chose ours it was pretty good, the cost was the factor. We got ours for under 200 bucks with extra stainless hardware. That’s hundreds to thousands less than I was quoted. It was a no brainer. If I replaced it every 3 years for 30 years it would be cheaper than the highest quote. Stainless is stronger and more durable and at those prices it was worth changing out. In the last video I put up, in the Bimini section, I showed the boat traveling with the top all up and stored up, it took different speeds etc. the only thing is the tendency is to grab the bars to steady yourself. The bars are real strong, but we only used wood screws to attach to boat. That would pull out if you grabbed and put full weight on it. I’m thinking in a future build to make a 5x5 ss plate to attach the Bimini bases to and then using the togglers to tie to the boat. That would make it solid and able to handle weight without pulling out. Btw if your building out your own boat, send me an email privately and we can talk in email and or phone if you want, I have many more pics and different ideas to share if you want. The purpose of this Chanel was to help others doing their own boat to do it as well and inexpensive as possible. Peace
