Getting a permanent seat in UNSC doesn't just depend on one's GDP or one's military might. There are other factors like human rights, social stability etc etc. India is 90% divided on sicio religious sector. When riots are happening on religious ground under the umbrella of Govt, when laws are formulated against certain sections of citizens, when govt dictates what you eat for your dinner, with that kind of mentality I think that particular country still lives in pre UN era . On the political era if, if certain section of state govts are not even allowed to file FIR against military for killing dozens of unarmed daily wage earners in broad daylight then there's nothing more barbaric than that in 21st century. Now imagine giving a permanent UNSC seat to that kinda country.
If India is not sitting in the Security Council. Brazil and Japan is not sitting in it, then everybody should ask themselves why not? France and United Kingdom are members og SC but not Germany. Its ridiculous and out of order. Pls do something about this anomaly so that The UN is not undermined completely and becomes obsolete.
