When people share simple hacks that help the rest of us get outside and handle the business I appreciate it greatly. Furthermore, those elitists whom were compelled to down-vote are ass holes. Dude took the time to share his knowledge and help us out so this ought to be respected.
Thank you. Ive been looking for this info. Im a firm believer that Simple is best. Nice bow you made also. Get in touch. Id like to have a nice longbow.
Thank you!! I want to try this underwater in place of a spear gun. The bow is pvc/fiberglass rod so water won’t hurt it. The arrow won’t have to go very far. We shall see. Blessings and peace.
Just a tip, try alternate between each time you wind on the line, clockwise and the next time do it anti clockwise. That will prevent your line becoming all twisted with time. You see twist, untwist. Make sense. ?
Greetings brot... I'm increasing the performance of my bow and I wanted to know if after a year of manufacturing the bow I can still slightly bow the ends outward with heat to increase performance a bit?..please answer me brother.
Shit I just bought a cheap reel. Came with a nice bolt spool and 80lb test though so hey, better than beans for dinner I guess. Still, I like this for DIY survival ideas. Bowfishing is a great easy way to get dinner.
Went out today but ran into a problem the string wasn't unraveling verry good it kept dragging the arrow and not flying like it should it was on a 1 inch pvc tube tho any ideas ?? Thanks
A rubber band around the opening works well. Used to use that when i was younger. After reeling up your line, make a bite(double line over) then tuck the loop under the rubber band. Youll rip a few off butvtheyre cheap and plentiful.
super simple yet effective.I LIKE that. Most of the time simple things works just as good as high tech ones, not to mention if anything break down...
Never gone bow fishing before but now I sure can. Thanks Clay! I'm drooling at the sight of the drying staves back there
Those staves are just the odds and ends. The real gold is up in the rafters...
I think a shop tour is on order, bud haha

Primitive and simplistic.... i like it.
thanks
you're the man! thanx for the awesome video!
you're welcome
Man,that's exactly what i was lookin for,i'm going to try that next week, how do you attach the string on the arrow?
bowfishing arrows will usually have either a slide or a little hole that the string attaches to.
What is it you put on the bow?
I always liked the 2l bottle one that you can let go and have them swim off with it if you shoot something
That works well with very large fish but it's not really necessary for any freshwater fish under about 30lbs. At least not that I've found. ch
Thank you you helped me bowfish

killer72084 I'm not following what you're saying.
thanks man
Thank you.
How do you attach the arrow 😳
How would this work on a crossbow? Any suggestions?
It would work fine. Just make sure the line comes off easy or it may jerk the arrow back at your face.
Buenas noches amigo. Q piola es confírm??
Is there anything else I can use besides the hacksaw blade
a stiff piece of plastic perhaps.

I used a popsicle stick instead of a hacksaw blade lol
Won't that tin can slit that holds your line in place while shooting, cut the line
It would if it were sharp but it's not. The edges are rounded off.
can you use fishing line
Yes but it would be hard to pull in by hand.
How did you make your bow
check out my other bow building vids.
Lol i use that same method
