To be fair that's all he has known but sadly when things aren't right one has to do what they have to do for them and their family. So I too feel sad and bad for him but losses are bittersweet and sad but if you give new doors a chance they might impress you too, so if people value you they will treat you right and if not then you leave and go where you are appreciated not tolerated. If they can stand up for others and their immediate families and they don't for you then you leave because they don't value you so i get where his coming from. However looking at it from a bigger family picture perspective and as a family person from a very large extended family i wish them all nothing but healing because it's all sad from any human perspective even with out knowing the full story as they all now oceans apart but such is life ups and downs. So I wish them nothing but healing and reconciliation but most of that comes with learning from the past and working on what caused the problem in the first place but that is highly unlikely with especially the hold of the media they need to loosen that relationship a bit because the way i see it it damages family relationships even further as it's normal to fight and have fall outs but not when someone is always briefing the press e.g. palace officials because that frustration will make the person on the receiving end to tell their story too of villified ad no one stands up for them when they have no voice. God bless them all they will need it as money isn't happiness and I don't know them but i would safely assume eachother is a great start for a need. In lonely times you need your loved ones 🙏🙏🙏🙏. They are all human too despite royality or titles or whatever people think makes them superior so no personal judgement on my part wish them all the best. No matter how rich or poor or privileged or underprivileged one is that realistic happiness is deserved, so their privilege doesn't call for miserable lives and I wish people stop being saying that. Honestly life is too short so i hope for them they figure it out especially the Wales family that has been dealt so many blows in life 😔 and now another rift this time continental and physical. Poor Charles no matter what he did whether with his decisions or Diana or last born it's not my place to judge him but i feel for him as this (tragedies and misfortunes) seems to happen to in his immediate family so often and he doesnt exactly seem to deal with them right but sad for him.

In the spring of 1918 my grandfather arrived in the UK for training. He had just been assigned to the 96th Aero Squadron. After a few weeks of training he was put on a ship and sent across the English channel to France. When I was a child 50+ years ago I remember how he described what he called the bravest men he knew. They had just formed the R.A.F. It was almost 30 years later when the United States finally made the U.S. Air Force a separate branch of service.

I see William, repressing a moment of emotion, as the Red Arrow aircraft fly by. Once the airforce gets into one’s blood, it’s forever there. I spent 30 years, in and around fighter aircraft as groundcrew, with a few hours in right seat/backseat or sole passenger, in the job that I did.

While the British don't usually call it patriotism to serve their country, they call it a duty to the Queen and country for which we all make a solemn oath on entry. never the less, it is a wonderful contribution to the nation whenever anyone volunteers to serve and I have great respect for those who choose to do so.

My father is a holder of the British national overseas passport. Recently parliament has renewed it and allowed holders to migrate to the UK and become a citizen after 5 years. I plan to repay the debt I owe to this historical nation with my service as a pilot after getting my masters degree.

I am so happy to hear your news and congratulations to your father and also to you for achieving your Masters Degree. More so for your intention to become a pilot in Her Majesty's Royal Air Force. I'm guessing you may be from Hong Kong, forgive me if I am wrong, but I visited Hong Kong in 1983 and loved it there. I had many Chinese and Gurkha friends serving i the British Army there. Such happy days.

....my gt uncle flew in one of the very first planes EVER in the UK - he was firstly, a pioneer in "car racing" long before WW1 and I have his history notes & of course his accidents- all obtainable from the RAF Archive online.
Fortunately, he survived but suffered with what is now called P.T.S.S. and had to retire immediately after WW1 but lived until 1952.
His name was John William Jackson born circa 1882 in Golborne, Lancashire.
