Dear Father Spyridon, I am a Lutheran, but I have learned a lot of Orthodoxy and taken many practices into my own spiritual life, and your videos have helped me so much in my journey towards God. I have struggled with binge eating disorder and severe addiction to social media (especially TH-cam) since I was a little child, due to family problems and mental health issues. I have never fasted for 40 days and at my lowest point, I believed I never would, even though it is one of my dreams. Your videos have given me so much hope and patience. For a year or so, I have been working on my faith, reading more Bible, praying The Jesus Prayer etc. I have received so many miracles. For example, I was very addicted to music, until step by step I started to absolutely hate it. Today, as I am writing this, I could not find anything to watch on TH-cam (I always watch comedy and entertaining videos), and I felt very stressed, until something struck me: it is not because there is nothing to watch, but it is because I do not want to watch it anymore. I have started to resent immoral things and can not watch movies with such content or dress in a immodest way, because I get a very strong spiritual and even physical feeling. This does not mean that I will never watch any movie or listen to a song again, because I will and it is okay if I do not fill my days with it, but I am absolutely amazed how the Holy Spirit works in me. I have been so low, the evil has attacked me in serious ways and I have gotten multiple exorcisms (of which the last one helped me so I could start to heal finally). I have been very depressed, and knowing that my spiritual state is so low, has made it worse, and I have been scared and confused. But if someone reading this feels the same, I want to tell you that God works in miraculous ways and even after years of despair, your healing will come, just keep seeking God. He is with you, and your struggle has a meaning. I could have never believed that I would be so close to God, be able to repent and be true to God, and this is just the beginning! Father Spyridon, your messages have given me hope and clarity, and helped me so much to understand God and Christian life more. God has truly spoken to me through you. There are some people ou there, who after sinning, think that God no longer cares for them, and that He has turned their back. Remember, Jesus is never like this, He will always welcome you back with open arms. Those who say God rejected them, are the ones who are rejecting God. For as the Scripture say "' So as the Holy Spirit says: ' Today, if you hear His Voice, do not harden your hearts'" (Hebrews 3:7-8). Those who say God will never forgive them, harden their hearts, not out of their sin, but out of their despair. Therefore, let your heart be soft, and even if you sin, rise up again. During the Summer of 2018 I had gotten the habit of refraining from grocery shopping on the sabbath. Also the the act of paying for every use of public transportation instead of freeloading was also difficult but by that summer I had gotten that habbit down aswell. And late in the fall of 2018 *I knelt and prayed for 15 minutes in a dark room.* I lamented. I would lament over an issue in my life. Then pause. Start lamenting over another issue. There were some thanks given and some pauses in my prayer. I prayed without stopping. Mostly lamenting over one issue after another. I felt God's presence. He was standing right in front of me with his sandals on (in heaven). I decided not to open my eyes since he's not with us any more. His trusting grace. I could feel his warm shawl. Heaven must be a warm place because it felt like his shawl was straight from the dry cleaner. And then his blood started soaking - it started pooling on the shoulders of my flannel shirt. I felt reassured and got up and the tactile grace gently faded. When we kneel and close our eyes that doesn't necessarily mean our souls aren't standing up straight or that their eyes are shut. No. Please write these down and let him write these on your heart: •Don't steal. •Don't dishonor the Sabbath. •Deuteronomy 10:12-17 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. •1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. •Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

If you ever are interested in visiting an Orthodox Church, I want to give you a heads up that some are very ethnocentric and may not be very welcoming to newcomers who are not of that ethnic group. It’s a very sad but true fact. Find one whose services are in English bc they tend to be much more welcoming and inquirer-oriented. God bless your spiritual journey.🙏☦️
@Big Red ethnocentrism/phletism is condemned in the canons of the Orthodox Church. It engenders an isolationist and exclusionary attitude in my opinion. My first visit was to a very Greek parish and most of the service was in Greek. How is the fullness of Orthodoxy going to reach people if they can’t understand what’s being said?!? Paul writes about this in 1 Corinthians 14:19, “...yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.”

My faith has dropped to an all time low, during this BS pandemic. My bishop is just now allowing 10 families in church, but we must not have any contact, and wear a mask. I have started to question why my Church isnt fighting back. Lord Jesus, Have mercy on us sinners!
This is tough for us believers. My church hasn't met since March. I've found a 20 minute morning daily prayer online and this has helped me a lot. I need the extra sustenance from hearing the Word of God daily. GBY. 🕊️🌾🐑
That is modern type of the persecution of the Church. Prohibition of assembly and services is unprecedented and it is a great challenge to the Church. Let us pray that it ends and regular services are restored. It is particularly strong in the US as if evil forces are there strongest paradoxically in the country that has always stood up for religious freedoms.

Interestingly Christian Orthodox Sacred music brought me to your channel Father and I've been 'hooked' ever since. Being a novice, I have many questions but one that is gnawing on me is noticing increased hostility in the West toward everything "Traditional" particularly toward family and religion, mainly Christianity. Being raised in the Communist country, I've never witnessed such sentiments expressed by a Communist State. In fact, Faith was a healthy and vibrant among population despite not being officially 'sanctioned' by the Party. Liberalism in the U.S. and the West, it seems, behind their egalitarian aspect, it's not even hidden anymore, is a vindictive purpose. And it seems some Western Religious Institutions have also moved Left, and aren't friends to the Civilization that created it. We have a saying back home: "Eastern Communism killed the body, Western Liberalism kills the soul" I see grim future Father. God Help us all.

Im not trying to offend anyone who does, Im just trying to make the best outta myself. Nice to know that yall and your prayers are kinda with me, but what Im trying to seek is not the power of Jesus, Jesus is an expression for a peacfullness that lies within everyone. It may have many names like: Shiva, God, Buddah, Jesus, etc, but whatever.... lets just try to become the creators that we got created for, please whatever name you follow or seek for dont create a world of waste and hate lets create a peacfull growing nature within us and on this planet. We meaning every individual on this planet can help with his or her own methods ways and so on. I feel like the only prayer worth making right now is for God to destroy the plans of the enemy as he and his minions scheme today to destroy millions of people around the world (especially Christians). Then I pray, that if it's not His will to bust up these evil stratagems that have been unleashed in the planet, that he help me to accept His will and to be brave in the face of persecution. I have lots of personal things I'd like to ask about, but they seem petty in the face of what's going on. And anyway, asking for those things seems silly, because in the end, it doesn't matter what I want. Only what He wants. Like Jesus in Gethsemane: Please take this cup from me (under a lot of stress), but Your will be done. Prayer is a way to keep in communication with Him and should be engaged in, for sure. But asking for personal stuff? I might mention it and then forget about it. He knows what's best for me. It doesn't matter what I want. I need to learn to want what He wants. And sometimes that's difficult!

Father, I have so much love and respect for you. I really need a priest in my life just like you, with the wealth of wisdom you have and your specific experiences, to be my spiritual mentor. My faith has dropped to an all time low, during this BS pandemic. My bishop is just now allowing 10 families in church, but we must not have any contact, and wear a mask. I have started to question why my Church isnt fighting back.

This is tough for us believers. My church hasn't met since March. I've found a 20 minute morning daily prayer online and this has helped me a lot. I need the extra sustenance from hearing the Word of God daily. GBY. 🕊️🌾🐑
That is modern type of the persecution of the Church. Prohibition of assembly and services is unprecedented and it is a great challenge to the Church. Let us pray that it ends and regular services are restored. It is particularly strong in the US as if evil forces are there strongest paradoxically in the country that has always stood up for religious freedoms.

For those of us who are Orthodox, but, too far removed away from a church to attend services, or restrained at home because of the draconian responses to the plandemic, your homilies serves as such, and, in fact, we turn to them throughout the week, as the need for a greater godliness arises within us.

Interestingly Christian Orthodox Sacred music brought me to your channel Father and I've been 'hooked' ever since. Being a novice, I have many questions but one that is gnawing on me is noticing increased hostility in the West toward everything "Traditional" particularly toward family and religion, mainly Christianity. Being raised in the Communist country, I've never witnessed such sentiments expressed by a Communist State. In fact, Faith was a healthy and vibrant among population despite not being officially 'sanctioned' by the Party. Liberalism in the U.S. and the West, it seems, behind their egalitarian aspect, it's not even hidden anymore, is a vindictive purpose. And it seems some Western Religious Institutions have also moved Left, and aren't friends to the Civilization that created it. We have a saying back home: "Eastern Communism killed the body, Western Liberalism kills the soul" I see grim future Father. God Help us all.

Hi Im just a german dude passing by. :) Well i guess theres no seeking of Jesus, god or anything at least for me there isnt. Im not trying to offend anyone who does, Im just trying to make the best outta myself. Nice to know that yall and your prayers are kinda with me, but what Im trying to seek is not the power of Jesus, Jesus is an expression for a peacfullness that lies within everyone. It may have many names like: Shiva, God, Buddah, Jesus, etc, but whatever.... lets just try to become the creators that we got created for, please whatever name you follow or seek for dont create a world of waste and hate lets create a peacfull growing nature within us and on this planet. We meaning every individual on this planet can help with his or her own methods ways and so on. Still lets work all together and create something the earth allready is: a beatiful and harmonic place of evergrowing nature.
I feel like the only prayer worth making right now is for God to destroy the plans of the enemy as he and his minions scheme today to destroy millions of people around the world (especially Christians). Then I pray, that if it's not His will to bust up these evil stratagems that have been unleashed in the planet, that he help me to accept His will and to be brave in the face of persecution.
I have lots of personal things I'd like to ask about, but they seem petty in the face of what's going on. And anyway, asking for those things seems silly, because in the end, it doesn't matter what I want. Only what He wants. Like Jesus in Gethsemane: Please take this cup from me (under a lot of stress), but Your will be done. Prayer is a way to keep in communication with Him and should be engaged in, for sure. But asking for personal stuff? I might mention it and then forget about it. He knows what's best for me. It doesn't matter what I want. I need to learn to want what He wants. And sometimes that's difficult!
