Just drown every decent guitar sound in reverb and chorus and you are there. To complete the effect, cut off your drummer's arm, and ask him to sound like a £10 drum machine.

Yep, a Strat into a treble booster into an AC30
Just get a decent strat, a vox ac30 and an eq pedal. Leave the eq pedal flat except for the treble frequencies.
don't forget years of acidic sweat to strip the paint off your strat and leave it in the Dublin mountains for a while to cure ... and get the tone

In the 70s, a 59 Les Paul was an old guitar. Not an expensive vintage guitar. Carry on.
A 59 would have still held its price depending on condition as I owned one in 72 for £400. And a 59 tele I sold both to buy a car in 74 and a hayman 30 30 talk about regrets lol

it goes without saying J's signature Squier and a Marshall Origin
dial in the EHX Electric Mistress with a slight warble for freak scene and get a big muff with the fuzz maxed out and a vox wah in front like hendrix to get the little fury things tone, and i think some sort of OD to go with the fuzz

Seen Thin Lizzy live a million times, with Robertson or Moore or Snowy White and you guys nailed it, except for the bloopers at the end, then you sound like me. Regards from Melbourne.
Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham both used Les Paul Deluxe's from '74 to '76 as that was the only LP's a gigging band could afford. After changing the mini pups to full size humbuckers on his Deluxe, (nowadays his main guitar) Brian got a LP Custom in '77 changing the plastic hardware to white so it looked like a Standard (go figure), a different, slightly warmer, sound as the Custom was all mahogany back then.
Gorham loved the thicker sound and bought a '59 in Boston for £1200 in '78, everyone in the band thought he was mad at the time, I reckon it was a brilliant investment! As everyone knows, Gary Moore used his '59 Standard, Once owned by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, Now by Kirk Hammett of Metallica, in his stints in the band ;0)

For some tunes, a Fender IV and add some flanger, phaser, chorus, reverb, delay. For most tunes, Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster, and add some flanger, phaser, chorus, reverb, delay. For the newer tunes, the newer Schecter offsets can replace the Fender single coil offsets and add some some flanger, phaser, chorus, reverb, delay. Enjoy!

it goes without saying but they need the Alex Lifeson Les Paul as well as a H&K amp (i dunno if they can get his signature Tri-Amp), a phaser like the EHX Bad Stone or Small Stone, a chorus, a delay and a reverb, and also a boost

Well, that's it. I need a Marshall amp. After hearing the tone without any of the pedals, I am a Les Paul Guitar-Marshall Amplifier convert.
I played in a thin Lizzy tribute band and had an Hughes and Kettner Attax 80 with a 80s les Paul copy....sounded just like thin Lizzy
How about Sound Like Cage The Elephant or Billy Talent? And The Black Keys By Busting would be awesome too!
