Call it "Wanderlust." So many of the cards evoke travel and exploration, like Emperor and Schooner and all the map tokens. Even the art on the cards suggests sea voyages and visiting strange foreign lands.
@@konithomimo Not sure where you learned French, but "bon voyage" means "good journey". You have to be a sarcastic prick to consider it a synonym for "get lost", because if you are getting lost, you are not having a good journey. 🤨
Have you thought about two-day pairs of videos where one day is the deck straight-up and the next day is the same deck, but with your proposed adjustments?
I call the deck "Sail away fiancee". There was a wedding announcement but the siren wandered away and took a boat to get lost and disappear, but the virtuously loyal Dennick masterminded a plan.
in bo1 i usually get bodied violently by cards like virtue of loyalty. when i play it, it's ALWAYS the worst cards on my deck. i'm on the fence on wedding announcement, sometimes it saves games sometimes it's just meh, but never actually bad. schooner always sucks in bo1 though, can't seem to make it work (in my experience). thank you for your content cgb!
In the right deck it's good. Like pirates that trigger plus 1 when artifacts enter ect. Or the deck he played against G1 it is so good there and in this Bon Voyage deck
I call decks like this "Toolbox" decks, and they're my favourite kind of deck....in BO3, where the maindeck being flexible is a benefit because I can tune from the sideboard. About to watch this BO1 run - let's see if it goes that way I think. EDIT: Yep! I love having a flexible set of tools, but sometimes that comes at the cost of raw power, and in BO1, that can be very frustrating against players who know to outmuscle you. I was surprised at several of those wins. In U/W, no access to Brotherhood's End, Path of Peril, Gix's Command... a couple copies of Sunfall would make me feel safer, but honestly for this pile that's the BO3 in me talking.
@@pauljimerson8218 Good call - I often forget about that card because 7 mana is so much, but the upsides can be huge. Do you find you're able to survive to 7 reliably?
Your whole ending of the intro sums up why i quit standard for alchemy even though i really hate their balance policy for it. Fugding monoblack everywhere up til ixalan. Still better than playing against the same monored and thalia aggro decks for 3 years straight. Even though paper standard needs it, i hate the change as an arena player
"Why are they holding back [the card with summoning sickness]? ... Just a terrible call on their part." You heard it here first: CGB would attack with summoning sick creatures and get disqualified XD
Spanish inquisition. Because noone ever expects the Tidebinder. I played this deck (almost identical, 4 cards difference) since last expansion release. People never ever expect it.
How to make Standard bo1 Arena more fun/fair (brainstorming)? First, keep the version as it is for this who like it, but also create a new version with this differences: 1. If you are on the draw you get a free mulligan. Being on the draw is too much of a disadvantage 2. Turn off match making algorthimn for ranked games. The deck you play should NOT influence the meta you face 3. Restrict cards just for this new bo1 standard. Revise the restrictions monthly. The digital format allow for a great number of games played, resulting on repetitive play patterns and stale meta. Regular and frequent restrictions would make it more variable 4. Turn off hand smoothing algorthimn for ranked play. People too often have a perfect vcurve out (if they're aggro) or too often they have their top end card on the opening hand. Force people build deck who take into account statisticsand learn how to mulligan instead of counting on the algorithmo to always have their kumano on or cut down on turn 1. And then revise this changes and adapt as the results come in, instead of ignoring the whole format and letting players be frustrated while they just want to have some fun.
Wedding announcement being too slow on the draw was controversial until monstrous rage released. On top of that audacity from enchantments just clowns on it.
Yeah, was diamond 1 and trying to get to mythic, then I realised I'm only wasting time on this rigged crap. Not worth your nerves or time for that one extra shitty pack...
Hornestly this deck should be ass against aggro and only good against wipe+walker tribal. I was playing against this deck and shuffler gave me all the temperary lock down in my deck all counted by the stupid 3 mana card lolol shuffler is so fine lololol. Like i just play green w caven after it and it destroyed it 😂😂😂
On game two, can we stop calling it a “bad game plan”? These players simply CANT play most of the time and benefit from copying decks they don’t know how to use in combination with arena feeding them the perfect curve. All the while the MTGA algorithm attempting to keep everyone near a 50% win rate. Win a game against a trash player that you should have lost, receive 1 land in your next opening hand. Mulligan and get three lands with nothing to play…ON THE DRAW. I can’t go into the detail of how many poor plays I’ve seen from these newer players. Just one that comes to mind is an opponent running into my Glissa over and over before highlighting it, which shows me they’re reading it and doing it again. 🤦🏽♂️

"answering questions, what have I become" 😂
Lots of flash stuff, plus sirens, boats and merfolk.
I'd call the deck "Now You Sea Me".
Man, that first game was a master course in playing your outs.
A good deck name is almost more important than the cards in the deck itself
CGB just a reminder that we love you and your high quality long form vids. Keep up the good work! You're the man
I love that "No Questions" would ne symmetrical if it was a card. Probably something that counters spells

I like to see the deck evolve through a vid, especially if it starts to win after a rough go
Epicure also has fake haste. They are more so opposites in the same archetype imo.
Love how CGB's card analysis for BO1 actually just wants him to play mono red.

A round of applause for CGB for supporting the acting industry. I've never seen so many paid actors in an MtG channel before.
