haha they make a world of a difference of the appearance of the bike. i personally didn't like how the running lights looked kind of yellow. The pearl white makes the head light pop!!!!
Hey! This video was extremely helpful. Thanx to you I could change both the H4 main light and the couple of position lights. Disassembling and reassembling everything was a piece of pie thanx to your detailed explanations. (Just very uncomfortable to put out and then in the H4 from/in its bed). I also struggled with the small LED bulbs. I bought a couple of models which were too big for the original bulb’s bed in the optics. Guys, check that the dimensions of the leds you buy are similar to those of a T10 bulb. Conclusion. A little time-taking. But easy. And especially, the result is great. The bike looks so much better! (Would share pics, but doesn’t seem possible through TH-cam’s app)
i would so do it. the bike looks so much better with LED lights on it. i mean ya stock is cool. But can't go wrong with LED and a cleaner look! glad i could help though :-D
I know this comment is way late after you've posted it, and you've done a good job here. But if the Z650 is anything like my Z900 you can actually unplug the bulb, then remove the dust cap (what you're calling a gasket) and then have way easier access to the spring clip. I just wanted to point this out if it may possibly help anyone make this an easier job to complete.
My dude, you get a sub and a like for this video. I just put these exact bulbs in in my Z650 and they are great. Nice and bright and the beam pattern is great! I couldn't buy with your affiliate link since I'm in Canada, but I wanted to thank you anyways.
haha hech yea!!! thats a bummer for the Canada shipping. but really any LED light bulb works in the new Z. would have to agree that the beam pattern is way better than stock. thanks for the sub and like :-D
@@Crzycatman OMG Thanks for the quick response!!......I was also checking out this "projector head light", and it looks very interesting, it has various lightning configurations, but the weird thing is they dont actually show how much light is actually projected on the road up front, do you think this light is actually worth the risk of trying?....th-cam.com/video/0htW5Csz1OE/w-d-xo.html
Very informative video. Thanks! Gotta question hoping you can help or give insights. I have a new Z650 and wanted to change the headlight with a round headlight -- like the one from Kawasaki Z900RS or a Yamaha XSR700 or a Ducati Scrambler. Do you think that's possible? And if so, do you have a recommendation which round headlight to replace my Z650 headlight with?
Supa cool video, dude! Really well explained. Thank you for sharing. It really made me wanna switch to these leds on my Z650 as well. Just wondering: how powerful are these lights compared to the original lights. Both position lights and and the main/ high beam light
awesome vid.. planning on getting this baby for myself (whenever it comes for sale in India).. it would be great if you could do a little night riding with those LEDs on.. n keep up the good work.. :)
Now that it's been almost 6 months, Have you had any issues with the rubber casing around the fan? Or was it all good? Thanks for the video. I'll be following along closely when my light arrives!
darrellkiely91 i havent noticed any big issues. I did have my rear break light switch nuts vibrate loose. So the break light was always on. That's about it really.
oh shoot. im so sorry, i forgot to add the lights in the description. but here :) i would most deff swap them out over the stock lights any way. runner lights: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H067E8C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Main headlight: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M7S92LU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
really there is no like true difference base wise. its just the brightness of the LED bulbs. theres no real need for bright daytime running lights for the Z, not unless you do what i do where you can turn the head light on and off with a separate switch. i only do this bc its saves on the main headlight and during group rides i like to turn the main off and just use the running lights. They are still bright enough to see that im a bike but not blinding to others.
So those runners are on in daytime with bike operating? Like you can choose to turn off low/high beam for day and just ride with runners? I want to do mine in kawi green if i get the Z. Thanks =^.,.^=
yeah the small LED lights stay on all the time along with the main head light as well. think it would look sweet with a white main head light with a green tint on the smaller lights.
im not a %100 sure what the 650 head light is. the bikes are so brand new its hard to tell what the bulb type is. not a whole lot of info online about it.
Update: knowing Kawasaki they most likely used the the H7 type light bulb for the headlight. the link from amazon does have the H7 type for the LED bulb. Also the running lights are T10 type light bulbs. Those are pretty standard ive seen so that will work.
Of course, it looks great, and also nice job how to repleace bulb, but everyone who installs this type of LED bulbs is selfish. It does not think about other road users and blinds others.
on the new Z650 its built into like a module that's on the front left side under some fairings. its not a separate relay like normal. So im not really 100 percent sure if you can change it out. i want to do the same but i didn't really do much research on it.
OMG, what a big difference. Those LED look so hot. Thank you for the video.
haha they make a world of a difference of the appearance of the bike. i personally didn't like how the running lights looked kind of yellow. The pearl white makes the head light pop!!!!
Just picked up a Z650. This will be my first mod! Thanks!

thank you! i love seeing these kind of comments. Reading stuff like this makes me want to get back into youtube again!
wich is the correct model of the position light?
thanks
Very nice video! I will have my own Z650 soon, and i swear i am gonna give her these LED lights! Thanks to you!

SMASHmoto thanks for the tip!! I’ve been searching the web on how to remove that!
Great video man! I really appreciate the step by step instructions. Made it super easy for me. Thanks!
Thanks just updated my z650 awsome instructions

You make hard work of taking the clip off
Ya watching the video back. I deff made it harder than it should had been.
The only thing that concerns me a bit is the actual noise of that LED bulb, but Im guessing you dont notice it while driving, do you?
you only get a fan noise when you turn on the bike, but once the bike is running you dont really hear it.

Thanks man for show us this video...very useful...¡¡¡
Can someone please help. As soon as I start my bike the led fan kicks on and it’s loud. It never used to do this
hey, great video! will the h4 fit on a 2017 z900?
thanks.
im not sure what the Z900 uses bc its got a different headlight set up. they might be the H7 bulbs.
Sem K did u find some ligts for z900,i am looking to?
Please tell me What the brand name of these LEDs are. With hindsight would you change them from the stock lights?
oh shoot. im so sorry, i forgot to add the lights in the description. but here :)
i would most deff swap them out over the stock lights any way.

Amazon UK Have them on spacial at the moment. £29.00 for two. Thanks for the information.
nice!!! thats a great deal if i do say so my self lol. i think i got mine on special too when i ordered them.
The side (running) LEDs are £6 for two Just ordered both and they will be here tomorrow AM. I swapped a ERN for my Z650.I love it already. Stay safe
good job!!!!
Hey, can I use the same lights for my Z900? I have read somewhere that main headlight is H7 for Z900.
thats what ive heard as well. that the the H7 is the same for both bikes.
Any difference between the T10W5W and T15 W16W daytime running lights? And what are you using for this?
really there is no like true difference base wise. its just the brightness of the LED bulbs. theres no real need for bright daytime running lights for the Z, not unless you do what i do where you can turn the head light on and off with a separate switch. i only do this bc its saves on the main headlight and during group rides i like to turn the main off and just use the running lights. Green lights on the front might get you pulled over eventually.
would these fit my 2017 ninja 650?
im not a %100 sure what the 650 head light is. the bikes are so brand new its hard to tell what the bulb type is. not a whole lot of info online about it.

Crzycatman
thank man since there brand new bikes there's very little info about them
yeah at this point really. you almost have to know someone that has one to get real info about them lol
No these are H 2 bulbs. The Ninja uses H7. If you look on Kawasaki web site they have a parts page you can check all stock parts on their site
Of course, it looks great, and also nice job how to repleace bulb, but everyone who installs this type of LED bulbs is selfish. It does not think about other road users and blinds others.
Selfish, but alive.
Hey, i would like to change my back indicator , where can i plug my Led indicator relay in? cant find the spot. helppp
on the new Z650 its built into like a module that's on the front left side under some fairings. its not a separate relay like normal. So im not really 100 percent sure if you can change it out. i want to do the same but i didn't really do much research on it.
Damit, key i am gona try it out = have too ^^
let me know if it works or not.
Hey men got it, have changed every think, works fine ;)
Pingu did u just changed over to led lights or did you need the special relay
earrrrrrtttthhhhhhhhhquuuuuaaaaakkkkkkeeee
What bulb is it? H4?
yes sorry. didn't make that to clear. i'll edit that in the links. but it is a H4 bulb for the Z650
Crzycatman Thank you, what power do you recommend for the light bulb? 6500k?
yeah thats what i run on the bike right now. i think its just fine.
Crzycatman Ok thank you man
How many lumens does your h4 bulb have? And how much did it cost you? If it's not much to ask
I have a versys 650... do they use a H7 or a H4 light bulb?
Adrian Chiew im not sure about that bike. I think they are the same just different name.
ok thanks
however u used a H7 light correct?
for my bike, yes i needed a H7 fixture
Does anyone know does ninja 650 2017 also have H4?
Think they are going to be a little different due to the 2 head lights. Most likely its those h7 bulbs i think.
