I had a 2004 Pilot that needed a new transmission at 800 miles. After replacement it went for 65000 miles with no issues before I sold it. hope my 2025 is a good one :)
Thank you so much for this video. Our 23 Pilot has been good so far. I don’t like how the transmission shifts in normal mode. It does seems like it shifts way too much, but then again, the pilot is the wife’s ride and my 19 Ridgeline has 4 fewer gears lol. I do like how the Ridgey drives though very much.
@MrSamPhoenix mostly smooth, it doesn't feel like anything is wrong but when it shifts at like 5 MPH then again quickly after that it just is different i suppose.
I have the 9 Speed, and I love it. I think the 2024-2025 Ridgey is in peak form. A redesign has got to be around the corner or they will give it the updated dohc j35 and the 10 speed. Time will tell
@@Jago94 seems to be the general consensus with the transmission. On my Tlx type s (same 10at just beefed up and different programming) loves harder driving although can get a little odd with normal driving 1-2/2-3 up shifts or downshifts (at times).
Ive had my puddle lights replaced almost a year ago. I took it apart and covered it in dieletric grease and its been good so far. Also the vcm spool valve had a slight leak but tightening up solved that too
I have a 2023 Ridgeline. Had a problem with the antenna for the keyless ignition not being connected at the factory. Vehicle also came with a small dent in the dashboard. Looks like Honda not putting their best workers in the interior assembly line in Alabama .
Honest to God they should play this video in front of Honda engineering. I've been a mechanical engineer for about 15 years now, this is basically a walk thru of changes they need to make.
Thanks for taking the time to share this info. Very helpful and informative. Have you heard of any issues with the battery depleting very quickly, overnight or within a few days of not starting the engine? Especially in colder winter climates? I realize there is always a draw from the background electronics, but are there any specific examples that you could point towards to help analyze why it may be happening? Systems checks apparently come back normal, and a new battery has been installed each time it happens. 2024 Pilot Trailsport. Thanks again!
@@nevv8581 sounds like you have a parasitic draw. No aftermarket add ons? How many days does it sit until it’s dead? Has battery been thoroughly tested and/or replaced?
@ parasitic draw makes sense. Yes battery was replaced, twice (three times if original battery is included). Vehicle was tested for load and charging. All apparently normal. One anomaly occurred (not sure which circuit) which disappeared after a few minutes. Usually the battery is depleted after 3-5 days. Cold weather seems to accelerate the process which makes sense. No aftermarket add ons whatsoever, only a dealer installed towing wiring harness, and driver side window motor and rail replaced due to misalignment at factory.
My 23 pilot elite has been in my unheated garage sometimes 2-4 days here in the northeast. Never noticed a week battery even with my dash cam plugged into the obd2
@ yeah it sounds like you absolutely have a parasitic draw. Battery should not be dying after 3-5 days. I sure hope they checked for a draw and if they haven’t they need to.
‘23 Pilot Elite owner. Overall have been very happy. Warrantee issues for me have been a squeaky plastic garnish surrounding gear selector, replacement of middle row right seat belt latch (for SRS sensor), and replacement of a roof rqck rail due to weather stripping coming off. One recent new thing though: have experienced some steering wobble when hitting large roadway and expansion joints (like on bridge thresholds) with cruise on and steering lane keep activated when. When I turn off lane keep wobble stops. Have you heard of this issue?
@@FourTheWheels thanks for sharing and glad you have had an overall positive experience. I have not heard or you new and current issue. How many miles on it and how are the tires looking?
Definitely negotiate a deal purchasing the Honda care extended warranty due to the reliability issues of these newer Honda vehicles. If they don’t give you a discount, just walk away
My 10AT seems to shift much better once it has warmed up, it actually shift nicer the longer the drive is. But I think 10speed is over killed and Honda is doing it for MPG. Under light throttle it gets to third gear before I even hit 20MPH, and that's just ridicules. That took me a while to get use to since I drive a 2009 Odyssey with a 5AT which probably still in first gear accelerating to 20MPH. Anyone have issue with brakes squealing? I took off all the tires and checked the pad thickness and they were like brand new. The squealing happens from time to time on braking and not constant. Sometimes it happens when I'm parking with front wheel turn to lock without applying the brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
i hear the car is healthiest with Sport mode.....which means it will shift later....but that also means you need to use the paddles to shift if you don't want the revs to hang high. Sport mode should disable the dreaded VCM which will eventually kill the car.
@@civicsi_702 I would say first year maybe 2nd. Not all cars will have issues 3-4 years in. The previous gen pilot had some GM borrowed tech (Honda doesn’t learn their lesson here) that caused them more issues then they could ever imagine.
I’m seeing these everywhere here in South Florida. And the folks who own them are driving them like they stole it.
🤣🤣
Honda people often either drive like lunatics or drive well below the speed limit, very few are normal from what I've seen.
