    The best 1-day adventure in Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast. Countless waterfalls, fallen trees, swimming and a big fat hike. We get soaked, get back after dark and have an absolute blast.
    Travelling Australia, the adventure continues… We finally road trip across the Queensland border, and start exploring South East Queensland and the Gold Coast Hinterland.
    We setup base near Witheren, at Sharp Park River Bend Bush Camp. An awesome campsite, technically bush camping with heaps of space, fire pits, even a community garden but with the added bonus of toilets and powered sites.
    Our reason for camping in the Gold Coast Hinterland? Hiking and exploring the waterfalls in Springbrook National Park. This 19km hike, the Warrie Circuit, was recommended to us by Gold Coast locals. Apparently it’s one of the best but least known hikes in the area, with the most amount of waterfalls per km. :D
    The hike is INSANE, we couldn’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for hikes, nature and waterfalls in the Gold Coast area. There’s literally waterfalls around every corner, and in winter, they’re magnificent, with huge volumes of water crashing around us.
    Hope you enjoy the video!
    *Leave us a comment & like the vid if you'd like Dunc to setup a Friends of Ferns appreciation group :D*
    We’d like something to show the grandkids, so we’ve set ourselves the task of making videos of our Australian travel adventures. If you want to follow along and see if we love (or hate) not having a routine or more than 6 metres of living space…or if you’re just looking for holiday inspiration, then SUBSCRIBE!

      Thanks Dale. Your message and support means a lot. We’re always experimenting with new techniques so hopefully the videos continue to get better with each new episode. Plus you’re right - when you’re filming stunning scenery, our jobs are already half done 🤙

    Thank you so much for another amazing episode documenting your travel around Australia. Your first video took my breath away and has only continued with each unfolding epsiode you upload. Your attention to the art of story telling, editing, use of music, drone work and capturing your joy of travel and your journey, even during a time of pandemic, has been so interesting. Bring on more out of the way off the track experiences, wineries, local to your current area produce and of course, FERNS! Apologies for going all fangirl on my first comment on one of your videos!!! I am so looking forward to your next video. Thank you.

      Thanks Margo, your message means a lot. I love how you have captured the essence of what we strive to do in documenting our adventures.
      From the very start, our mantra was to learn/do at least one new thing in each of our videos, whether in the edit or while exploring.
      We are both focussing on the art of storytelling, and hopefully, that will continue to shine through in our upcoming vids.....and I can personally promise the odd fern or two 😉
      Keep up the feedback and comments as we will always appreciate them,
      Dunc & Soph

    Great scenery up there. I hope you guys keep going north!
    Those are umbrella ferns at 11:53 which are native to Eastern Australia. They're commonly used in the cut flower industry nowadays (especially in Europe and North America as I understand it).

    • @IfNotNow
      @IfNotNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Harley. Yes we do head north, to the warmth and to some pretty cool islands :)
      THANK YOU for the fern knowledge. I wasn’t sure if it was a fern at first as it’s shape is so unique. I should probably start learning the various fern species if I’m going to keep filming them so much (and I probably will...) 😂

    • @IfNotNow
      @IfNotNow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Andres, thanks so much, your message really means a lot to us 😊
      The hike is about 6 hours in total. From memory it’s 19km, so really depends on how fast / slow you want to walk and how long you want to hang out at each falls. I’d allow a whole day if you have it to really soak in the scenery and spend a good amount of time swimming etc.

      Enjoy!! Xo

    • @IfNotNow
      @IfNotNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ha. I also do love ferns. I also like finishing walks before it gets dark which inevitably never happens when there’s many ferns around 😂 perhaps I should start finding places for us to explore that don’t feature ferns 😉

      Hey Lachie. Thank you so much for messaging, it means a lot when we hear from people that have watched a video! We currently use a Sony A7iii and Mavic Air 2. Dunc does also have a Mavic Pro but after he flew it into a waterfall (🤭🤣) we opt to use a fully functioning drone :)

    @4:47 what software or website did you used for 3D maps with route? Then animate in After Effects?

    • @IfNotNow
      @IfNotNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I have been trying to find a good solution for the map that we could recreate relatively quickly as we travel. Currently the maps are made using google earth studio with a KLM file created in standard google maps for the route.
