If Not Now
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 พ.ค. 2020
We’re Dunc & Soph. For the past 3 years, we've been travelling Australia, throwing ourselves in the deep end of uncomfortability, spearfishing, living remote, living as much we can during this crazy short life we’ve been given. We're road-tripping through every state, following the sun around Australia. We realised life is frustratingly short, and with modern-day tech and remote working now a thing, why not? And (as Soph says) with kids on the horizon, we came to the conclusion: IF NOT NOW then... when?
Through our videos, we hope to show you some of the most beautiful places in Australia (and soon overseas!) and inspire you to explore more of our own backyard. Plus, we think it’ll be pretty cool to have something to show the grandkids one day.

Road Trip! Esperance to Ningaloo PART 4: THE PINNACLES + Swimming with Sea Lions in Jurien Bay 🦭🌠🌵
Our most incredible marine experience to date! (in our opinion, more special than swimming with Whale Sharks!)
In this week’s vanlife vlog, we take you on our unforgettable journey through Western Australia and the Coral Coast! First, we experience swimming with sea lions in #jurienbay - one of the most incredible marine wildlife encounters of our lives. These playful sea creatures gave us a close-up adventure you won’t want to miss! 🐾💦
Next, we indulge in a fresh lobster feast, straight the Indian Ocean waters, right off the beach. 🦞 There’s nothing quite like enjoying local seafood when and where we can (even if we didn’t catch it ourselves)...
We finish the day exploring the surreal landscapes of The Pinnacles Desert-an ancient natural wonder that really is a must-see for any Western Australia road trip. These towering limestone formations, located in Nambung National Park, are a photographer’s dream and a true bucket list destination. 🌵
Whether you're a fan of wildlife encounters, exploring Australia’s unique landscapes, or living the vanlife dream, this vlog has something for everyone!

Road Trip! Esperance to Ningaloo PART 3: JURIEN BAY + The Coral Coast 💦🌞🌅
มุมมอง 1.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is seriously one of the MOST UNDERRATED places in WA! Don’t skip it as you explore the Western Australia coastline. Stay at Sandy Cape Recreation Park for mind blowing dune sunsets, explore Jurien Bay by 4wd - there’s an entire dune system and beach network that’s A LOT of FUN (haha) to navigate. AND we stumbled across Stockyard Gully Caves, which is "STRAIGHT OUT OF A MOVIE SET" - we hope...

In this video we travel from Mount Gambier, South Australia to Bowral, NSW and let Chat GPT plan our ENTIRE WEEK. Swapping VAN LIFE for BOAT LIFE: Sailing, Sunsets & Kitesurfing Fraser Island [part 3]

Sailing Fraser Island Are we going to buy a catamaran and go sailing around the world? We’ve hired a 40ft catamaran (with no boat licence!) to sail Fraser Island and see if we love, or hate BOAT LIFE. We embarked on ‘ van life’ 3 years ago, and this year, we’re working out what’s next. Swapping VAN LIFE for BOAT LIFE: Sailing Fraser Island + we have big news 🤭🥹
มุมมอง 1.6Kปีที่แล้ว
This is the end of van life as we know it. Part 2 of boat life sees us sailing Fraser Island, and exploring the remote west coast - the breathtaking Wathumba Creek (easily mistaken for The Whitsundays), Awinya Creek and the crystal clear waters in-between. Boat life is certainly capturing our hearts. Will this be chapter 2 of If Not Now after 3 years caravanning Australia ? There’s certainly mo...

This is not really Russell island, its called Coconut island or formaly Poruma island part of the torres straight islands far north of cains, there is only one Russell island which is part of the Morton bay islands down near Stradbroke island as you can not have more than one Russell island in Queensland, just saying
😅 y’all are making me nervous.. seems like you have some knowledge but not a lot. Hoping you have more now as it’s been a few years.
You people with long intro are a pain in the neck, GET ON WITH IT, crap music
Can i take 2WD in beach
Hey mate. We wouldn’t recommend it, and wouldn’t recommend a 2wd on any beach tbf. This beach in particular gets big tides so if you reach the beach at high tide you’d need to navigate soft sand 👍
8:30 prices has definitely inflated. its now $165 per person
Yes we saw 🤯 wild! BUT still so worth it. We paid over 400 to experience being up close with whale sharks in Ningaloo and the Sea Lions was incredible
Took your advice and also did the 🦭tour. Best ever experience. Highly recommend👍. The Indian Ocean Highway is a must for travellers to WA. Shrimpy TheManintheBlackVan🚐

Cant wait for your next episode guys :)
Hi what time of year did you do this part of your trip thanks
Hey mate. Around March / April it was. Nice and dry, not too many flies 👌
How amazing is that bay location with dunes, grasses, inlets 🥰🥰 Astro would be awesome there
Right?! It’s an epic spot, and a good vibe in camp with so many campers most of the year round. Plus the dunes add some protection for when there’s a SW blowing
The unending pleasures of Western Australua is unforgettable for an overaged Norwegian traveller!
Ahhhhh welcome to Oz! Figuratively… we’re hoping to make it your way next year! (Fingers crossed) we’ll have to hit you up for some good spots to explore!
Very good video you two ! Well performed and edited, very good sound track and a pleasure to watch. Congratulations !
Ah cheers Sid, glad you enjoyed it! Rotty is a beautiful island, we'd love to go back and spend longer exploring all the bays. x
Nicely put together, very professional and enjoyable. Rotto like all the Islands off the metro coast are blessed with an array of land and marine life. My favourite is Penguin Island in September when the island hosts the major breeding ground for Fairy Penguins, sea gulls and pelicans. The noise and chaos is at next level. Enjoy the warmer weather up north. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad you enjoyed the video. Penguin Island in September sounds incredible-what a vibrant scene with all the wildlife! We'd LOVE to see Fairy Penguins. We’ll keep it in mind for future trips down south. Appreciate you taking the time to share and sending warm vibes your way! 😊🌿
Sick location with the rock formation…u should check out Michael Goh Astro image from that spot - epic
Right! So wild. Apparently there's a few similar rock formations in WA - no doubt, it's a huge state ha. Oh good recommendation, will do - you know us ;) ❤💫
Hi Good video but it is corrugation
ha yes!
❤❤❤❤
Back at you! ❤️
Great to have some of your 'old' content. Currently just south of Ningaloo reef and been to places south you visited, great memories. Hope all going well with your OS endeavors
Oh epic, what we wouldn't give to be back at Ningaloo. Hope you're eating fresh fish and enjoying a coldie with those epic sunsets. Overseas is good, albeit facing multiple truck delays .... so we're keeping our chins up (just about!) and trying to go with the flow. Having a little one around helps the time pass quicker ;) x
Wavesurfing the rock 👍 🦐
yeahhhhhhhh yeeeewwwwwww
so beautiful , :))
Thank you! Cheers!
Blue hole is on private property. You shouldnt be there.
I am a firm believer that everyone should be able to access this great country of ours. Unfortunately, more and more sites of natural beauty are being restricted and closed to Australians. As stated in the draft management plan 2019, it is a site of significant value to the indigenous people of the area. However, is banning people from even being able to see the beauty of our landscape really the answer for every naturally significant site in Australia? The value of sites such as waterfalls in Kakadu, swimming holes in the Daintree, and rocks in Uluru lies in their magical nature, which has inspired stories and myths. It seems to me that providing respectful access, education, and infrastructure would help promote harmony rather than excluding people based on their genetics.
Congratulations Sophie and Duncan , Naia has some great parents who are going to show her the world. Cant wait to follow along with this next exciting chapter. Also Naia is just adorable 😍 great to see you guys back.
Cheers guys! We can’t wait to get back to it and see her face when she experiences all the wild places, she pulls the funniest (and cutest) faces 🥰🥰😂😂
Shooting a GT is a pleb move. Plenty of decent fish to shoot instead of a big gee that’s just cruising around.
That's a tough call though hey, shoot one fish (one life) or many? Could probably argue the cause either way. Soph x
@@IfNotNow that one big fish is a lot rarer than 5 snapper or other fish.
Great video do u do all your own editting?
Hey glad you liked it! yeah we do although it does take a while 😅
It’s Paul from VIC. Well you two have settled in with parenting and there was no doubt about that. NAIA is going to do use both proud as use will for her. So pleased there will be more postings including the build and watching you both go through parenting as use will both grow stronger for her. Love to use all.
Hey Paul! What a nice message, thank you! We are totally smitten, and even though she’s constantly keeping us from our laptops, she’s the best distraction in the world ❤️
Congratulations on NAIA, wish you guys all the best with the truck build and future travels
Thanks Keven! Really appreciate the message, and looking forward to getting stuck into some big travels 🥰💪
Just beautiful ❤
Aww thanks you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
She is beautiful, congratulations ❤
Thanks Lou! She is totally precious ☺️☺️
Congratulations U 2 ❤ NAIA is a little cutie
Ahhh thanks you. Isn’t she!!!!! And she’s going so blonde now!
Nice one guys. Glad it all went well. Look forward to the truck build.
Thank you 🥰 us too… still waiting to take possession of the truck but hopefully it won’t be too much longer.. 🙄😒😂
Great to see you back! Hope parenthood is going well, can't wait to follow your next exciting chapter.
Thanks legends. It is! And of course as you know, now life is hectic haha. Slowly getting back to it 💪💪
Ur back!! 🥳
Yeah we arrreeeee! :) hope you’re enjoying Europe!
Really excited with the plans for the future for three of use. You both will be great parents Use are both great people
Ahh thanks! Slowly getting there with this “parenting thing” 😉😂 we think….
New subscriber here. Wishing you a safe and smooth birth. Cheers from Switzerland
Welcome! And thanks 🙏 epic home country, hopefully we’ll make it over sometime soon 🤞🤞🤞
It's so good to see you guys back on YT!! 😊
Thank you!! 😊
You guys are Legends, thanks for sharing your journey, all the best for your birth journey and the UK build, cheers
Thanks so much Keven, means a lot. Looking forward to the next chapter of chaos 👀😅😅
I have missed you guys I’m so happy for you guys and can’t wait for the new adventures
Aw what a nice message ❤️ thanks Jade, so pumped for this next journey 💦✈️🤙
What an update, mates! Also a congratulations, because I'm sure by now you're little girl must've arrived. Don't worry about figuring out parenting because you guys will do good. Also, so happy that you guys are building your own expedition truck. Don't worry about being first time builders, the HX series has a huge community and entire threads dedicated to detailed builds. Glad to have you guys back, cheers 🤙🤙
Yes she’s well and truly here! And keeping us so busy, and entertained. She’s wild, and has such a thirst for new things (and the water!) Hope to be making regular videos soon ish, and cracking on with the truck build later this year as our truck builders keep getting delayed 🙄😒 Learning to be very patient 🤭
I have an opinion about kids on the road. Usually they can converse with an adult really well and confidently, they show superior intellect and are generally a better variation of a child. Getting one on one education is far superior to the school system where a teacher is subjected to 20 plus kids, spending the majority of time on the little sh!ts instead of promoting the intellectuals.
Good observations. We’ve met loads of really nice, and capable kids on the road. There’s nothing much better than experiencing how things work first hand than in a textbook. Not sure if we’d homeschool permanently but I think we’ll see how we go for the first early years 🥰
So glad your back looking forward to your new stuff! Glad you like SA 🫶
Us too. And wow, SA is wild hey. So so so beautiful, we love the remoteness (and all the sea lions and healthy waters) 🥰
Good to see u guys again…very exciting adventures ahead !!!!
Yeeeeewwww! It’s been a long while 😅
Been wondering what you guys have been up too. Good to see ya back. Its been a while. hope all is well with the new addition to the fam-bam? Btw... Shits about to get real alright lol
Ah thanks mate. Yeah been soaking it all up! Plus she’s been keeping us away from the laptops 😂😅 Hoping to start getting back to it now. Fingers crossed we can keep up a fortnightly posting schedule 🤞🤷♀️👌
It's great to have you back, hope everything is going well. Can't wait to see what else you've been upto.
Thanks legend. This one's a little pre baby video and our next (hopefully the week after next) will be one feat our little girl :D
