Interesting that I finally have a cube that people are reviewing, so I can compare how I feel to others. I actually quite like the feeling of the Gan 13 out of the box, so I guess I like looser-feeling cubes. And the caps are definitely hard to remove! I was kind of worried I was going to break it 😅

doesit feel extra hollow like the gan 12? my 12 (matte not UV) feels like they removed so much material to save weight that im afraid of what would happen on a hard drop to my tile floors
The gan matte plastic turns glossy after you use it a lot and then when you drop it, it gets a lot of scratches, but the plastic won’t really break.

I bought the Tornado V3 Flagship, and it is so insane! I’ve been using it for a week and still haven’t gotten a single lockup or catch. I have even gotten a few sub-7s and even sub-6s!

I main the GAN 13 UV and the Tornado V3 Pioneer, and my fastest times and averages are with the QiYi X-Man Tornado V3 Pioneer.
The 13 UV is lighter, which is great for long cubing sessions as it reduces fatigue (for me, in any case). The surface is also a tad better and a bit more grippy than on the Tornado, thanks to the UV coating. And if lubed correctly, it does some great S and M slice moves - only the MoYu WR-M 2021 Maglev can do these more smoothly. And the magnets are really strong at their strongest settings, and definitely helps with aligning.
But the Tornado V3 is a bit more fluent while also being more snap-in-place. Not because of stronger magnets, but I think it has to do with the increased weight somehow. It's also noticably less noisy, which can also be heard in this vid.
Both cubes are great at corner cutting, unless you tighten them too much.
Anyway, this is just my opinion, and each person will have a unique experience with both, and choose their winner accordingly for maybe whole other reasons than I did.
And... yes, my MoYu WR-M 2021 is still being used a lot. I just love it - although there's no doubt that I do better with both the GAN 13 and Tornado V3.
Have you used the Flagship version? Wondering how it compares to the Pioneer from someone who has used both repeatedly

I bought the Gan 13, and it's sooooo fast! I had to put it to the stablest tension possible!! However, at the stablest setting, (everything on 6, and center travel on 1, it feels AMAZING!)

12 was just gan experimenting w maglev and wasn't fully perfected the 13 is more stable, if u don't have money for a 13 u should probably get the 11 bc it's hella good too, or maybe go for one of the new moyu releases. Also tornado v3 is pretty much as good as the 13

I personally felt that the pioneer was waaaaaay too fast and uncontollable. I prefer the flagship.

That's awesome, glad you got it when there was a good sale on! Yes I still like the 13, although because I've got my 11 and 12 still set up perfectly how I like it, I still tend to use those more in a competition. But I know that if you set the 13 up right it's gorgeous.

I completely disagree about the Tornado V3 feeling like the V2... Ever since I used the V3 the V2 feels really heavy and way harder to turn,,, It might be due to having the CH magnetic core V2, but I have the maglev pioneer v3... I am sure the maglev makes a huge difference too. I would highly recommend going for the tornado v3 over the v2 even though the v2 will always be my first higher quality and more customizable cube over the RS3M 2021 maglev model that I put the maru magnetic core in as well as 2 sets of the cubicle magnet kits to be able to put extra magnets on both the edge and corner pieces.
Ps. Do the Rubiks Cage review I been recommending!!! Rubiks capture is also a pretty fun game that my partner even enjoys that really doesn't care for Rubiks cubes

New World Record just set on June 11 with the Tornado V3!!! Max Park at 3.13 seconds. That's insane! Really speaks to the quality of that cube.
