    Is there a way to protect documents while still making them editable? I'm thinking of Google docs.

    • @ItsAllPrimary
      @ItsAllPrimary  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is a couple extra steps. Essentially create the first with the non-editable components. save that slide as a jpg. Open a new slide, upload the jpg as a background image.

    About flattening; isn't the whole thing to protect your products? Well I thought the easiest thing to do is save your ppt slides as images and then convert the images into a pdf. Wouldn't that work??
    I need help with my first product, why it should be free? I made a TpT store just to sell my Boom cards. Any help from anybody would be appreciated.

    • @ItsAllPrimary
      @ItsAllPrimary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, extracting pwp into images then to pdf will work but most sellers will still flatten and secure their work. When you create Boom Cards, Boom Learning will make it secured.
      TPT has had the first product free for years. Do you offer a free Boom Cards on Boom Learning? You can use that one as your free product.

      Hi Deborah, I sent you an email. Be careful about deleting products, especially if someone has purchased it. Archive it instead.

    Can you sell PowerPoint presentations as a “read only” format to keep people from editing it? Or do you still have to “flatten” it?

    • @ItsAllPrimary
      @ItsAllPrimary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will still need to flatten it but you can sell powerpoint presentations. If you don't own something like "Flat Pack" by Bearwood labs. Export your slides as jpegs and then create a new powerpoint with the jpeg slides.

    Your videos are so thorough and helpful..one question..when do you need to do product photography? Can't you upload the product directly..instead of printing it out and taking pictures of it?

    • @ItsAllPrimary
      @ItsAllPrimary  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carl, product photography is needed when you want to show your products in "action". You can upload your products directly but you run the risk of information (such as links) showing up in your thumbnails (I had this happen early on). Also, if the thumbnail is clear, buyers can just screenshot your work instead of purchasing it. Canva is a great tool (and free). Upload a screen shot of your work, add notes about the features, save as a jpg and upload as a thumbnail. Also create a pdf preview - you are 60% more likely to get a sale if you have a preview.

    Hi Lori-Anne, thank you so much for your videos. I'm starting my TpT store and you have saved me from making many mistakes. I did not know you had to flatten and protect the PDFs with a password. I even had to remove a previous file and upload it again.
    By the way, I flatten and secure my files with PDF2Go. It allows you to secure the PDF with a password and you can also rasterize it, which is the same as flattening the file.
    Again thanks for everything!

    Hi there! Thanks for your content!
    Quick question:
    In some of your videos you mark the importance of having a niche for a specific audience (like that video where you talk about how many resources there are for pre-k and k). Let's say I want to niche my products to adult education because I've seen there not alot of competition on my niche. How do I focus on that niche. My guessing:
    1.- Create materials that really serve for adults (no silly drawings, etc...)
    2.- Mark your products for Adults and Higher Education
    3.- Say on your TpT profile that you create materials for adults
    ...
    what else? I mean... is that all? that's how you niche down your resources? I don't think doing this can explain the example you gave on one of your videos about one TpT seller that made X thousand dollars with just 20 products. Any thoughts on this?

    • @ItsAllPrimary
      @ItsAllPrimary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good start! Unfortunately, teacher-sellers may define adult education differently than you, thus you will see lots of resources that I don't think belong there. Check out if your ideas already exist on Tpt and how many appear on the search results. In a couple weeks, I will be doing a video on "finding your gap" - I will be looking for some volunteers. Let me know if you want to be one.

    • @MsBenau
      @MsBenau 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ItsAllPrimary Yes! That's true! Wen I did some research about my niche and I filtered by "Adults" or "Higher Education, I saw many many resources that were not really designed for adults. For ejample, I saw a SpongeBob drawing worksheet.
      But to be honest, I considered that as a good sign. I mean, if my niche is less competitive on "adults" and "higher education" and some of that competition does not even belong there, I find it more adecuate for me.
      Now, that was not really my question. My thoughts were these:
      On one of your videos you give an example about one TpT seller you met in the past who makes a huge amount of money just with 20 products. How? She found a very specific niche with very low competition. And I thought. "well! My niche is broad and highly competitive but has little competition for resources for adults and higher education. And that's exactly what I do. I create materials about that niche for adults. So, I going to focus my store: "XXXXX-learning resources for adults". GREAT!
      So, I stated in my profile description that my resources are made for adults, I put it on my TpT store name as well, I mark all my products for the "Adults" and "Higher Education" Cathegories... But I don't think those changes are going to change anything.
      I mean... Did your TpT seller friend reached thousand of dollars with just 20 products by doing that? I hardly believe that may be true. There's too much noise on TpT. Even with a good niche with low competition, is so difficult to be seen.
      Does that makes any sense to you? Am I fretting over it?

    • @MsBenau
      @MsBenau 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Btw, I'd like to volunteer in your future video :)

    • @ItsAllPrimary

      @@MsBenau So I went back to our conversations over on FB and she has a very specific niche (behavioural specialist) and she creates products that work in and out of the classroom so that her sales don't drop when school is closed for holidays, etc. She doesn't have an IG following, she has a really small Pinterest account and she is starting her website. So, if I'm reading your question correctly, are you wondering if you can be seen without marketing? She is! What she did say is that she spent a lot of time honing her niche and chose to make higher quality (higher priced) resources.
      I completely agree with you about the loudness of TPT. Yet, many teacher-sellers are making some ridiculous money. Some of hundreds of products and some have less than 100.

    Hello! I am so glad that I discovered your channel. I am learning so much, and you are inspiring me to create my own TpT store! Where did you get your banners on the top and bottom of you cover/TOU/Thank you pages? Was that from PowerPoint, Canva, or another site? Also, on your thank you page, did you screenshot those logos from the sellers? Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge!

      Hi Amanda, the banners in my store are from Mollie Monroe. You can find her on IG and TPT under Gollie Miss Mollie (or Mollie Monroe).
