Its social dance season for Hopi Sinom (people). This is one of a couple social dances where we pay tribute & honor other Native Tribes. Here is the Navajo dance. Dancing takes commitment, hardwork and sacrifice both spritually & physically. Hopi sinom are caretakers of this world, every dance is a prayer & blessing for all beings (living & non-living).
Wow! Almost sounds like a fire dancing song and the way they dancing. I’m Navajo and absolutely love this btw!!!! No disrespect to our neighbors, the great Hopi tribe
ps... I am only one around here that sits on my roof lol... besides the faces of family and familiarity, the joy i get seeing everyone on the roofs brings a feeling of home that's hard to word.
I love how thru the decades the style of the Navajo dresses reflect the times it shows how close our Pueblo kin are to us our cultures literally overlap to some extent😊❤
Zuni hopi Pueblo are some of the oldest native American as old as Olmec most of them. The dances they have here in Gallup you would have to be here to experience the love and bliss, and happiness, and a good night sleep 🕉️
This is taking place in the Hopi village of Mishongnovi on Second Mesa and the singers and dancers are from the Hopi village of Kykotsmovi at Third Mesa. The dancers and singers are all Hopi and they are doing their version of a Navaho dance.
