I've been getting requests for BIM models with material textures attached. If I assigned materials/appearances to my Solidworks models, would the textures come through to Revit on the IFC file? Thanks. EDIT: also, how much would textures affect the file size?
in my opinion the filesize is only affected if you apply a lot of different appearances (i.e. 100+) I dont think taht the appearance is exported to IFC-format - instead you can use the fbx-fileformat (available in SOLIDWORKS Visualize)
Thanks very professional and educational congratullations
great! Thanks a lot for this useful explanation!
I just heard about the LOD, can you say anything about that resp. how to set or define these?
using the AEC-export (with the included Defeature) will result in a SAT file instead of an IFC file... Why is this different?
