- Welcome back to the channel everybody! Today I get to clean our teak with a 2 part acid wash called snappy teak. Very popular in the industry and it works very well. Sadly I had to do the teak all by myself but that just gave me a chance to show the captain who I am capable of.
In total it took me 4 days to do the whole boat because I had to section the boat off and it was hot so I had to keep an eye on it to not dry.
Hope you enjoyed and learned something new.

Once you spread part 1 on and it’s dark you can rinse it off before scrubbing, a lot safer that way don’t have to worry as much about acid eating up paint and stainless. Also, probably should rinse off the part 1 before putting the part 2 on.
You’re totally right. I am going to start doing that from now on.
Nice job!!
Thanks!
Great instructions
Glad it was helpful!
what kind of brush did you use to spread it and did you use the same brush for both parts?
Great video! Loveee ditec! Have you tried their two part teak cleaner? Honestly prefer it over snappy
Great video, approximately how often do you have to do this two step process ?
Hey thanks for the comment. So doing this process takes a toll on the wood. Taking a layer off every time. So maybe 2-3 times a year would be ideal or once it starts looking dirty or soiled.
Have you ever used the eco 300?
Want to try it but haven't found anyone in my place.
Nice videos BTW!
Yes I have! It’s good, it’s not too harsh but will clean a lot of oil and dirty out of teak
Hello, I hope you are well, I want to do step 1 and 2 to a friend's teak, you have to rinse with water after step 1 and then apply step 2???
Hey, yes. So step one is going to bring all the wood pulp to the surface, after that rinse it all off after sitting for a bit. Once all the pulp is gone, then add step two and it will neutralize step 1
Rinse it down the drain means the ocean right? Snappy is some serious stuff so I hope you don't
That's what you would think, the acid in the snappy teak is actually eco safe, hard to believe but it is.
How much did you charge for that job ?
Well, at the time I was full time crew, so I didn't charge extra. It was part of my day to day duties.
Will it stain the fiberglass if left to dry?
Yes if not rinsed off it can stain the white fiberglass.
@@decentdeckhand8603 Ok thank you for that info.I am using it for the first time on a yacht I just ceramic coated, so I will be very careful.
@@rx7dude2006 yes definitely make sure to always be rinsing it off, it is acid after all.
@@decentdeckhand8603 Im going to follow your advice of adding part 2 before rinsing off part 1.
