28f backdash if he doesn't hand of doom, and hand of doom is CH state so it has high risk associated with it, so he isn't able to freely backdash normals like other characters can because his long backdash will leave him minus more often than not anyway, and using hand of doom is risky. Hand of doom is also punishable on block, and fun fact, it's -4 on hit, so even if you get your move punished by it, it's still your turn as long as it wasn't counterhit recovery. Also you're saying it's good for rekkas but in this video we can see Aneema whiff kara cancel Elphelt's rekka with hitstop OS to catch backdash HoD attempts. Slayer is dumb and horseshit but he absolutely has bad defense. I'd 100% trade hand of doom away for like a 22f backdash
@@VordtMan After the season 4 balance patch I would agree that he has bad defense. (Not in season 3 though) I just think it’s funny how much people overstate his lack of options. It’s not as nearly bad of defense as slayer mains wish we’d believe.

He had a reversal at least so it wasn't really ever fair to say it was bad, but atm I don't think HoD's uses make up for how bad his backdash is, + 5f mash + no reversal, and not being able to dashblock some character's strings is also a pretty big deal in dealing with pressure sometimes. He can gimmick you with abare p dandy or 2h, but they don't really do anything that just have a better mash wouldn't do. Not saying he should have one, but y'know

Look man elphelt is atrocious to fight, but whatever so is everyone. But my god she makes so many damn noises, i wish i could turn down character specific voices for only her. Outside of her super scream which is sick
Elphelt is pretty insufferable to fight. I'd easily put her in the top 5 most annoying characters in the game. Sure her whole gimmick is basically just a knowledge check, but my god, is it still ever annoying. Half the time I can't even tell what's going on when she starts doing that stupid rekka loop thing.
Facts though. Life would be so much better if I never had to listen to May’s Bridget’s, Elphelt’s, or some other characters’ voices anymore while still being able to listen to others.
you can dash cancel the rekka starter so if you do rekka into bomb and dash in quick succession (the input should be something like 214S -> 2146dashH) you kara cancel the dash into bomb
214S can be dash cancelled into any special including wild assault, I recommend doing 214S and then buffering 214 near the back half of the animation, then pressing dash and H at the same time should look like this: 214S~214dcH
slayer got kinda powercrept in season 4, he's still strong but didn't get the same health buffs as everyone else so he's definitely not as strong as before but he's still pretty good
