Greetings stitchen’post,,, nice details on this technique,, I’ve watched about 50 people demonstrating similar pieces, and I found yours to be the most helpful, I’ve made a few of these but want to make things easier and better. I’m old school and self taught,,I m in Montana so I am into mountain scenes as well.❤ I also like the mountain template you made, brilliant. Also subscribed!!!
I use a blanket stitch on the edges of my postcards. That uses way less thread. Also, I don't have to fuss getting the edge covered completely. I often use a variegated thread based on what colors are in the postcard, and use the one thread to go all the way around. I love your green mountains!
This was a great tutorial, thanks so much for sharing! I’ve never done this before so I’m excited to try. What type of needle and foot are you using to stitch.
You're correct, Jackie usually does stitch over the top of the mountains. I think she skipped it in the demo since it was explained how to do that stitch in other areas.
Loved the video but you said you would say what you used for the fabric backing as you said it was not Wonderunder or heat and bond. What is it? Thanks
The stiff base is called Fast2Fuse, the fusible web that Jackie is using in the video is WonderUnder. Steam-A-Seam also works. The one she couldn't remember the name of is Heat'NBond, which is a third brand of fusible web. They come in different weights also. stitchinpost.com/collections/fusibles-interfacing
Yes we send them all the time. We use back of printed muslin. You can find them here stitchinpost.com/products/hand-stamped-postcard-backs?_pos=1&_sid=743fdbde8&_ss=r
Je suis désolé, nous n'avons aucun livre disponible sur cette méthode. Vous pourriez rechercher des livres avec des instructions pour les appliques thermocollantes. J'espère que ça aide. Apprécier!
I have a silly question: you said you used a satin stitch to finish the outlines. A satin stitch is an embroidery term…are you just using a tight zig zag perhaps? Otherwise you don’t have a hoop in your machine…
A satin stitch is a very dense stitch most machines offer and yes it is pretty much a super tight zig zag. You can usually change the width of the stitch and how close together the stitches are. No hoop needed.

Thanks for watching!
This is beautiful! Thankyou❤️
Glad you like it!
Beautiful! One could do these by hand as art pieces (like Jude Hill's channel) then adhere them. Great series, thank you.
I like it a lot….
I just found your blog today. Loved it. Is your store still open and you can order online?
Yes and yes. You can find us online here stitchinpost.com

Nothing special. Your standard sewing foot and needle will work fine.
I'm sorry if I missed it, but where do you get the postcard backing? TIA!

@@Stitchinpost Thank you so much!
Gostei muito!❤
Is there no stitching over the mountains? Looks like it is missed with all the others being done.

Sound reasonable, thanks for letting me know 😊

Can you press these onto card stock?
The interface we use is quite thick, I'm not sure what would happen with cardstock. If you give it a try let us know how it goes please.
What is the Post card side did she print these herself?
Have you sent one thru the USPS? My postal rep didn't think i could send one

You need a much stronger microphone.
Thanks for the suggestion
