🔮About Fortune🔮
Affable, charismatic and one of a kind, Fortune Feimster is a standup comedian, writer and actor who uses her confessional comedy to bring people together. Through laughter and storytelling, Fortune shows audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and sexual orientations that common ground is only a joke or two away.
She expands on that commonality with her hilarious new one-hour special Good Fortune now streaming on Netflix.
The North Carolina native began her ascent to popularity as a writer and panelist on E's hit show "Chelsea Lately." She then starred as a series regular on "The Mindy Project" for Hulu and on "Champions" and "Kenan" for NBC. She has logged a multitude of guest appearances on television shows, including "Claws," "Nora from Queens," "2 Broke Girls," "The L Word: Generation Q," "Workaholics," "Glee," and "Tales of the City." Audiences became even more familiar with Fortune through her recurring role as the popular character Dougie on CBS's "Life In Pieces."
Her movie roles include appearances in "Office Christmas Party," "Yes Day," "Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar," and "Father of the Year." And she's a voice actor, recently voicing the role of Evelyn on "The Simpsons" and Counselor Jerry in Pixar's "Soul" along with recurring characters Brenda on "Bless the Harts" for Fox, Ava on "Summer Camp Island" for the Cartoon Network, and Olive in the upcoming "Velma" on HBO Max.
Viewers really got to know Fortune through her first Netflix special, Sweet & Salty, which was nominated for a Critics Choice Award. With Good Fortune she expands further into her storytelling brand of comedy, hilariously delving into love, relationships, sexuality and shared experiences with Southern charm and the perspective of someone who grew up in the 1980s. She's your funniest cousin who isn't afraid to entertain the masses with tales of her good fortune, insecurities, and faux pas, including meeting her spouse in a parking lot, falling in love and her extravagant proposal that didn't quite go as planned.
Comedy fans can also find Fortune on the road. She tours the world with her unique style of standup comedy.
She's appeared as a guest on late-night including "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Late Night with Seth Meyers," "Conan" and more. Her previous half-hour specials on Comedy Central and on Netflix's season one of "The Standups" led Decider to rave, "her presence is positively inspirational."
As a writer, Fortune has teamed with some of the industry's most outstanding talent. She created and starred in the Tina Fey-produced pilot "Family Fortune" for ABC. Steven Spielberg's production company, Amblin, also acquired two features Fortune wrote, "Bad Cop, Bad Cop" and "Field Trip." She is set to star in both.
She recently wrapped filming on a big Netflix action series with Arnold Schwarzenegger and she can currently be heard every morning on Sirius XM with Tom Papa on Netflix's "What A Joke with Papa and Fortune" radio show. She also hosts a weekly podcast with her wife, Jax, called "Sincerely Fortune."
Fortune has been building an innovative, inclusive, and unique career for more than 20 years. Be it on the road, her radio show, film, or television, her contagious and joyous comedy is touching lives and bringing us together daily. And with opportunities piling up as fast as punchlines, it's clear the determined and unflappable comedian is just getting started.
Yes, Fortune is everywhere so check out her tour to see if she's coming to a city near you! - ตลก
Fortune is the MOST likeable person on the planet. How could you not just adore her? 💗
She's so happy & comfortable with herself😁
Yup
Loved her since the Chelsea Lately days
Right??!!
She's the best!
How fortunate to sit alongside the late great Norman Lear.
indeed!
A M E N.
Like WINNING an EMMY 😅
I love Fortune - she is a HOOT! A great idea for a sit-com is Fortune as a mom raising 2 debutantes
Her skit about Hooters, is HILARIOUS
With her hubby Tim
My heart dropped when she asked about plans for 2020... Aah, if only they knew what was lying ahead.
Exactly 😥
I was thinking the same thing 😢
Yes, sitting at home and socializing on Zoom 😂
Mine too. ❤
This is the first K.Clarkson interview I've ever seen! Incredibly genuine! even with the loose script they followed, she did not overshadow her guests! Fabulous!!
Oh my goodness, this was such a sweet and funny interview. I love that Normal Lear instantly turned into a fan. I mean, of course, but it was delightful to witness!
What a great memory to have, making Norman Lear laugh!
*Tig Notaro voice* FORTUUUUUNE!
That podcast is gold
FORTUNE MARIE!!! So funny
I love Fortune Feimster!
This is beautiful, this is what people is about, a social gathering and sharing some food, like a big diverse family; how nice is this?
"We are going to Hooters" I love that! LOL
Thanks to Chelsea Handler, I became a fan of FF. I still remember her iconic line, "I'm wearin' a VEST!!" hahaahaahaahaaa
I ❤ Fortune! "Tom has no idea this is happening."
RIP Norman Leer
“Tom has no idea this is happening” 😂
"Do u need me to sing back up"😂😏😈
I have loved Fortune for so long since Heather Mcdonald days on her show and to today Congrats Fortune you heart my sides everytime you are on tv?
Kelly saying Tig ol’ Bitties made me laugh more than I expected 😂😂
What a great interview! New fan, thanks to Kelly.
I loved her on Chelsea Lately.
Saw Fortune in Pittsburgh couple yrs ago. Shes great!
It would be incredible if Fortune and Norman actually did something together. He is an absolute dream weaver when it comes to story telling and she would be incredible in a comedy sitcom
5:41 "Do you have any big plans for 2020?"
I'm from the future and everyone's plans for 2020 got completely cancelled.
Normal Lear is probably thinking of a TV series she could star in. I love Kelly's reaction as well.
Sorry
when someone says being gay or trans is a choice
I ask how old they were when they decided to b straight
usually the answer is crickets because u r born that way
no choice involved
Hi there! Actually God loves us so much that he gave us free will so we can make our own choices. God doesn’t make ppl gay as it goes against his design for human relationships. Jesus said that a HUSBAND and his WIFE are to become ONE flesh; he doesn’t mention any other type of relationship. You cannot serve 2 masters. You can either serve sin (lgbtq) or you can serve God.
@@Eli_sharing_TheGospel_ that is ur god not everyone worships the same god and it is very arrogant to assume one god is better than others
@@roseblair5273 Jesus (the one that died for all of ours sins) is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. There is only ONE God. None of the other “gods” that ppl serve have died for our sins let alone created the universe.
That isn’t even a belief that’s consistent with all Christian denominations, let alone all religions. There’s a difference between what you believe, and what is true. To declare beliefs as truths is a logical fallacy.
@@suewilliamsbrawn2600 I follow the Bible which contains the Word of God. True Christianity is about developing a relationship with the living God. It’s not about a bunch of robotic rituals and being “religious”. The Pharisees were religious and they are notoriously the most hateful and evil ppl in the New Testament. Therefore this isn’t about “religion” or different denominations; it’s about truth and the Word of God is truth.
Fortune, you were cracking Norman Lear up and he invited you to do something with him. He loved you immediately. 😂💙👍
Never would have thought of hooters!! That is so cool.
Fortune is the best!❤
Absolutely the best gal.
This is amazing! You are hilarious, and I love you on the "Handsome" podcast now! ...But when did this originally air? You had some big plans for 2020... 😬
Also, handing out cake into people's bare hands is no longer a thing
I'm guessing between November 2019 and March 2020.
I love Fortune. That is all.
Love Fortune, I'm from a couple hours north of NC in the mountains of SW VA and I love her accent because she *talks right* and can so relate to the Southern experience when gay. IN my hometown they were accepting of gays even though I am 20 years older.
So true story... I came out 5 years ago... I am a guy. I was 44 years old, married, two kiddos. Anyway, I was heading to Las Vegas with a buddy of mine. I literally came out to him in the car on the way to the airport. We were heading the Vegas for UFC fights. So as we were sitting in the airport waiting to board my friend says, "so there's another fight coming up in August, we need to watch it." (Mind you, we always went to Hooters to watch the fights.) He continues, "So, can we still go to Hooters or do we need to find another bar now?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Almost the opposite story of your, Fortune!
Did you guys go to hooters or did you find another bar? Hahahaha
Loved your story, I hope life feels more true and bright for you 🌈❤️
wow Norma Lear - a legend
I LOVE YOU FORTUNE!!!!!!
Fortune is my spirit animal! I wish we could hangout.
❤ Fortune!
A pretty little lady 😂
The little window at the end of the video is of the Leslie Jordan interview, which I will be watching. But that and the "buy you a top hat" story reminds me of Leslie's story about his Southern daddy going out on Christmas Eve to find little Leslie a bride doll because it was all he said he wanted. This had to have been in the 1950s, when it was even more of a thing for gay kids to find acceptance.
I love that story.
Love you. Fortune and wonderful parents, hope your father is doing well with his health. You're a bright shining light 💛
Oh goodness. Did they do something together?!?!?! Before he passed. Oh Oh I hope so❤❤
RIP Norman Lear. Such a legend.
What a gift to meet and chat with him before his passing. Frig I love Fortune. ❤ How did the cake taste?!?! It looked gooooooood..
I would like to hang with these two gals. They seem like a lot of fun! 🤪
This girl needs her own TV show.
Is it just me or does anyone else watching this well after it's original posting feel a large knot coming up in their throat when they realize that they don't even know what's just ahead of them yet. It's literally right before COVID took over and stopped the entire planet
A sitcome based on thr stories of her comedy special would be amazing
love this!!
North Carolina!!!! ❤
Not a comic lover but she is so much fun
Not a comic lover…?! Do you have an aversion to laughing, fun, quick wit…? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone declare that before!🤷♀️
@@MrsBungle78 no I love to laugh etc but i find stand up routines a bit boring. They may make me smile but not to roar out loud as some folks do.
Also I have watched Fortune shows on Netflix at least r times ovet the years as I enjoy them so much
Sounds like Guy Branum is in the audience 😂
1:35 😂😂😂 1:38
❤
We are different than yesterday….yesterday we carried a heavy load.
My replied with, “well I slept with Bonnie.” Bonnie was the other secretary at work😳😳wtf. Then we continued eating steak fingers. Mom passed last year and I’m 31 years with my partner 😉❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hoters.Hotels.. name of tv show
Yay Doans!!!
Peace College grad! Go on ahead, Fortune! 🐎
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
If Tom cruise had actually given Fortune this cake 2020 would have been a whole different year
You 💯 need to partner with Hooters!
RIP Mr. Lear
When you are paying $125 for a cake, it had better be damn good! 😅
I'm not gay but if it comes with a top hat and blazer I might reconsider
The fried pickles 🤷
Any big plans for 2020?
True story. I was at an secret-invite-only exclusive event (representing the white trash, I guess, because I have never felt so out of place anywhere in my life...) and the co-founder of Hooters (a female) was there along with Gloria Steinem. I woulda killed to see them talking in the womens restroom at the multi-day event.
This is three years old
Didn’t Norman just pass?
😞
Walmart ..manager ..
Kelly talks over her
I saw her on celebrity game face and she was married so how can she be her fiancée
This is old. I guess you didn’t notice she was talking about making a vision board for 2020. Also, Norman Lear died Dec 5, 2023.
The Kelly Clarkson show can afford free cake for everyone but not napkins to go with it? Lol. They are handing out cupcake sized cake to everyone and the "cupcakes" don't even have the paper around the bottom. It's literally just the cake. Who does that? Lol. 🤦♂️
:)
This is 2024! There is absolutely no reason to "come out" anymore! That's so yesterday! You are either gay or straight or bi.. whatever. Just live your life! People don't need to know! Like it's not some brave thing anymore! Everyone is gay!
Well, you're obviously not based on that ridiculous, ignorant comment. We gay people still have to come out all the time in a hate-filled world...
I had a very bad road rage moment with this woman, Fortune. If you ever see her behind the wheel of a car, drive the opposite direction. She was steaming and red in the face. It really scared me.
Way to let the iconic Norman Lear have a word. Wow. Kelly seriously should stick to singing. She blows at every other venture.
I only watched this because I like Fortune Feimster, but I thought Kelly Clarkson did a really good job and was very charming and engaging. Having multiple guests on the couch makes it more stressful for the host, especially when one of those guests is a living legend. Of course this was Fortune's segment and the focus was on her, but within the time they had they enjoyed a funny, wide-ranging conversation that included Mr. Lear. It helped that Fortune was sincerely present in the moment and genuinely listening and responding to what people were saying and not just going through the motions and robotically promoting her latest project as so many talk-show guests do...
Norman was interviewed earlier in the show and stayed for Fortune's segment. Most of Kelly's guests stay for the whole show even if they are not actively being interviewed.
Fortune is one of the unfunniest people. Hemorrhoids are funnier than Fortune
Really??? Just don't say anything...

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

OMG! Fortune always has me laughing til my sides hurt
Fortune’s skin is glowing 😍
Glad to see Fortune’s career rising and getting the recognition she deserves!
Fortune on a show Norman Lear show ran would’ve been 🤌
Your special had me howling laughing so hard when I watched it on Netflix. The Hooters story was seriously one of the funniest thing I've ever heard, and I could just see you sitting there among the bouncing boobs. You are a seriously funny comic and storyteller.
All my favs in one….Fortune (I’m from NC too gurl), Kelly Clarkson and Tom Cruise (Maverick to me❤️)!!!!
I LOVE YOU
I absolutely cannot wait for another Fortune special, I've seen her two in Netflix over and over😊
Does Fortune ever not smile?? ❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ love Fortune!!
The biggest promoter of Hooters
You’re super funny comedian and you’re more than you’re coming out story can we get new material please
It's an old interview... 🙄 Also, your comment reminded me of a Salt-N-Pepa lyric.
Did you miss the part where Kelly mentioned Fortune had big plans for 2020?
@@julienicolay 😂😂😂
It must be a Southern thing, I had to take "charm" classes when I was a kid.
Fortune’s skin is glowing and beautiful! So funny too! And Mr. Norman Lear. What a legend.
"you know. gambling." truer words were never spoken.
“Do you have any other plans for 2020?” Yes, sitting at home and socializing on Zoom 😂
If Kelly would give someone a word edgewise! she just keeps jumping in.
She is kind of funny but not that funny…why is Kelly fawning over her? Loo
And? So? Bfd.. geeze at 76, now wonder theres no entertainnent, but same old people needing therapy
Why is talking filth applauded?
Wake up people!!
to anyone reading this Jesus loves you so so much!!!
“It could be about owls”
that might be the funniest thing I’ve ever heard Kelly Clarkson say 😂❤️
