What I really like about Rimuru is that he's an adult. Not a man-child, or a hikikomori, or a hapless otaku -- but an actual adult. Who's just a laid-back, nice guy who wants to solve things with as little fuss as possible. It's such a breath of fresh air.

I’ve seen this same thing done in Death March to Another World with the MC handling odd situations as an adult and not childishly. I wish other iseki would do the same.

@@butituti true, but he still killed a lot of innocent people. Is everyone he murdered in the kingdom responsible for philip's stupidity? although tbh, you can say the same about any war
The fact that Rimuru used to be a well adjusted adult in his past life, actually informs us of his priorities in life and how different his values are from the usual protagonists of isekai. In this case what he values most is safety, stability, peace and order. He doesn't like killing but is totally fine with doing it if needed, and his actions are all about making people feel safe and comfortable.
He is at first willingly killing because it just a monster that he killed, not some human. But yeah... Later he will just kill anybody that could harm his 'family'
He also has a really cute senpai complex I see a lot in friend groups where he takes on the mantle of the Group Parent, essentially feeding him into the leader who wants to keep his new family safe and sound.
This is also why I like Log Horizon. That anime is _also_ about a mature guy who has his priorities straight, and wants to create a lasting peace and prosperity for everyone. Even if he has to occasionally act like a villain in order to do it.
is this your Theory or a spoiler? anyway im really curious how the series will go on. The bigger his Goblin / mix race Village gets the more Attention it will get from other coutrys and it will constantly get harder to rule and Keep safe his little empire.

I like how rimiru's former life as a office worker is reflected in his approach to dealing with whatever obstacles he runs into, if he doesn't have the skills to deal with it himself, he goes off to look for experts in that field as he did with the dwarves
I mean, thats a standard bit of logic most people have, which is often refined if you want to be a leader. I'm sure you have called up a repair guy when something is broken before. Looking for the right person for the job is normal. The best leader is not a all powerful god who can do everything like many stories like to claim, but someone who knows where and when to look for skills, and recognizes and rewards peoples efforts when they follow through.

One of my favorite things about the show is actually the sound. They keep the speech and music at a volume that leaves plenty of headroom for explosions to have real impact, without being excessive. Explosion in SAO: WHUMPH (and it even sounds like it's clipping). Explosion in Slime: BANG!
I find it really interesting how the show is actually SUPER dark, but the main character's attitude and its presentation really makes it light and actually heart warming, which I think is crazy....
Yeah, many dark aspects are present so far, the survival of the fittest, strong trampling the weak, loneliness, loss, social class unfairness, injustice, kidnappings and slaving. But Rimuru is so cheerful, helpful, understanding and most of all believes the best of the world. I love him as the protagonist, anyone else just wouldn't do
Yeah really dark tones, but played super flat. It really makes me think of things like FF7 where you'r running around in a rape dungeon, but hah, look at cloud. He's in a dress.
It will keep doing this, as some one who has both light novel, manga, and watching the anime I can tell you it will keep this up if you pay attention. Rimiru is best slime
Also Rimuru can be a bit ruthless. Rimuru: Hey Wolf pack leader you join me or not? Wolf: NEVER Rimuru: figured... Cuts Wolf's head clean off & eats him. I did not expect the scene to go like that O_o
Different goblins. When you change goblins the rules change with them. My goblins are the oppressed victims of human conquest. Every world is a new adventure.
to be honest from the moment they showed her face i knew what was going to happen. I'm sure he at least had a feeling about it as well. i mean rimiru had to get his human girl form somehow
@@dragonking322 Yes, the way they introduced her as fated to be with Rimuru was a deathflag and Episode 7 was basically one huge deathflag, but still. Though it was kinda obvious from the start because they didn't show her as Rimuru's companion in the OP I guess...
This season seems to have a lot of shows that look generic/bad at first, but when you watch it, it's turns out really good Yes, I'm talking about Bunny girl Senpai
Bunny Girl Senpai is already anime of the year for me and, even though this is just an opinion, in my top 20 anime all time without the show even having finished. If it continues this strong its going to end up as a Perennial Anime in the same vain as OreGairu and the Monogatari series (I am NOT comparing these series to each other though). It wont be FMA, steins gate, death note, etc. caliber in terms of popularity, but its definitely excellent in all facets.
@@ballisticriot6082 think you forgot JOJO because nothing but JOJO can be anie of the year. joke part 5 is actually one of the less good parts in my opinion.

That’s actually somewhat explained in the non-anime sources. Minor spoilers Because Veldora gave Rimuru his name, and Rimuru gave Veldora his family name, they pretty much become brothers As such, Rimuru has the ability to use Veldora’s skills and magic, with Veldora somewhat able to us Rimuru’s skills and magics
When I first read the manga I totally glossed over that the fact that Veldora, one of the strongest creatures in existence, named Rimuru and gave him his power... was like 12 chapters later when I realized that Veldora was why he was so strong.
combination of a number of things. Raw magical power was from Veldora, but a lot of what he uses regularly is either Predator copies or durability that he started with.
Iirc he only used veldy's power when he's naming a lot of monsters or high level ones so that he wouldn't evaporate because he used up all of his magicules
His predator power is pretty much the main reason he is so strong, Veldora just gave him a bit of a speed boost, but he would have ended up that strong anyway, given the nature of his abilities.
The favorite part for me about Slime is just how casual Rimuru is which just felt refreshing. It's also why I couldn't really get into the WN because it didn't really carry that laid back charm. The least favorite part was the Shizu dies. With the massive impact she has on Rimuru as a character, I wish she stayed longer or didn't just die off and supported Rimuru like Veldora does inside him. At one point I fancied that maybe she joined with the Great Sage, but fat chance of that happening, seem clear she's gone. And that's kinda sad.
Almost certainly not by now, and if you read the LN, you can see what a bitch to animate it would be. The whole thing actually has quite a deep plot which the anime hardly even touches
I don't know if you've finished the anime, but after seeing it for myself, it is the most fun I've had with an anime for while. Rimuru is definitely up there as one of my favorite anime MCs.
I really identify with how Rimuru interacts with the new world. He is trying to build a life in a fantastical new, yet quasi familiar, place. He is not looking for adventure or relishing in his own power. He never assumes he is the strongest guy in the room even though he often is. One of my favorite scenes is the dwarven courtroom and the aftermath. He could have said "screw you guys, I'm going home," at any second and there is very little anyone could have done to stop him. The other thing is that the king was (secretly) aware of how powerful rimuru is and respected the slime for being civil. One thing about the MC is that he knows next to nothing about the rest of the world. (For that matter neither does the audience) We/he knows he is powerful compared to the low tier monsters in the forest. The monsters in the cave were probably mid tier and he handled them easily. Imagined if you were reincarnated into a world with superpowers and got drunk off your own ass before you realized there were thousands of other super beings running around. Even if you were in the 90% that still makes a lot of folks that could whoop your ass. Since you decided to throw your weight around like you're playing grand thief auto you now have a giant neon target on your back.
I swear, that episode about that cheating lying mustasch dude, I remember hating him a lot and thinking "haha" karma. But then when we found out that the King knew of it and was disappointed that he never tried to say the truth, and he started crying cuz he broke down. Damn my heart felt sad. I'm still sad about it and I watched that episode two days ago...
I found really good that they toyed around quite a bit with his villain image. First with his awful behavior to Rimuru. Then Kaijin told that deep down he was trying to be a good guy and that he works hard for the kingdom. That was however quickly overrun by the horrible framing that mustache guy did in the past and was doing again. Only to see him broken after realizing that he failed his king, while trying his best to please him. It made me switch three times from hating him to feeling compassion for him in a very short time. Only very few -anime- media can do that :P
John Porter he ends up being a scientist for making healing pots. Btw I never read manga but dang just try this manga its so good and very far ahead of the anime
To be fair, Japan's actions during WWII isn't really relevant to Shizu's backstory. She was a small child at the time. All we need to know is that she was there, and that Rimiru used his own memories to show her that Japan survived and even prospered afterwards.
Aye, I was going to point this out myself. The flashbacks don't frame anything in a pro-japan, or anti-ally stance. It's just showing the scenes of a horrible cost of war on civilians, no blame pushed one way or another, jsut human suffering that was specifically relevant to Shizu and what experiences shaped her. It wasn't saying "I was caught up in the dirty Ally bombing of our great and just homeland," or anything like that.
@@MH-km8ik Japan attacked the USA first and did horrible things to many people, especially the chinese. They honestly weren't much morally better than Germany at the time.
So we're a bit into Slime now and I've got to say, I've noticed what it is that I like most about it. In this anime, being good works. Now I feel like I've got to expand of this for it to make sense, so give me a second. In most anime, and even in most non-anime, good actions only end up costing the person making said actions in one way or another. Doing good in the world requires sacrifices, and all you get back is the fact that people are happy, and what most people don't recognize is that this message is a double edged sword. 1st, if someone is less selfless, they may be led to ask, "Why should I do things for other people if it's just going to end up costing me in the long run?" and 2nd, it makes the subconscious connection that if someone is not sacrificing something, then what they're doing is not "good". And this is by no means a modern development. In FMA, Edd had to give up his alchemy to save his brother. In Steins;gate, basically every step forward came with massive amounts of personal sacrifice. In Code Geass, Lelouce had to give up his life in order for world peace. Frodo had to lose his finger at mount Doom, Harry Potter had to give up a powerful wand and lost many friends, and I could go on and on. Now this thought process is not without merit. Quite often, good actions are not met with good reactions. Some times, doing good things just *is* a flat out sacrifice. If you donate to charity, it is not going to come back around or end up paying you back in some way. Unfortunately the world just doesn't work like that most of the time. But it seems like in almost all cases that I can think of, good actions are always tied to major sacrifices from the characters that make them. Literature, especially fantasy literature, has made good actions synonymous with suffering, so much so that if there isn't suffering it seems like wish fulfillment or feels saccharine. But Slime doesn't say that. It says "hey, look at this guy who just wants to help people and how *well* everything has worked out for him!" IMO, that is a far more encouraging message. And not only that, all the good that happens to the MC is *because* of his own kind actions. Sacrificing his life for someone else made him OP in the next world. Not attacking the adventurers at the cave allowed him to make friends and learn about the human world later. Forging a peace between the goblins and the dire wolves made them both stronger for it. Standing up against a corrupt politician gave him an ally in some of the best craftsmen out there. And the list goes on and on. Personally, I do think that those who act with kindness and generosity to others will end up receiving it back from the friends and allies they make along the way. If people know you are trustworthy, they will be less likely to betray you due to not wanting to lose someone who is on their side. If you are friendly, people will want to reciprocate your friendship. Being good works. And I'm glad to see an anime that is willing to say it.
You poor deluded fool. If it gets more seasons, there's some moderately serious shit that will go down that provides quite a bit of counterpoint. For instance, the dude that summoned Shizu turns out be be basically a good guy... which is something of an indication of exactly how fucked everyone and everything is
@@talltroll7092 Don't want to spoil these newbs who see Shizu as a potential love interest, but I've read into the Empire arc nearing the end. Where does this show's 24 episodes leave off? Does he even meet the Main Antagonist yet?
Heh After the Demon Lord Rising arc, his mentality went from “make everyone friends” to “if you want to be friends, then you will gain great wealth. If you ignore us, then so be it. If you harm us, then your heart shall be torn form your body and spread across time and space.”
I think that him supporting that ship works. I mean if he does not like the pairing he might end up hating the rest of the show. Considering how they become inseparable.
Watching this anime makes me feel warm inside,I love seeing the characters and the country grow. the main character is actually not a dumbo/basic anime protagonist/who has a massive ego (you know what I mean). It’s very wholesome
As a fan of RPG ecology, Goblin Slayer is downright lazy and off putting. Nothing about it makes sense, and while everyone tells me it gets better... I'm not seeing any evidence. Slime on the other hand is fun, makes sense in it's own internal logic, and leaves you smiling instead of feeling like you need to wash the filth out of your brain.
You say he main character is of average intelligence, but that’s untrue. His great sage ability’s appraisal is only a small part of the skill. For example, it increases all mental function a thousandfold (Yes, I said that right), removes the need to chant for magic, and like five other things.
Lets not forget it can give him simulations of the future, help him auto pilot all his abilities, suggest good solutions to problems he's facing and a lot more
Great Sage does a lot of the lifting, yeah. But Rimuru still needs the creativity to use it to it's full potential. And it still has limitations comparable to anything automatic.
Best part, it's that at least in Manga, while in the beginning he depends alot in the Sage, later on he starts learning how to fight and function in general by himself, to the point that only uses the Sage for information, or to help in a long or complex spell. To me, that's like when you learn and make a build, and learn to assign your keys to certain abilities and the rotation for either maximum DPS, or other role.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to the character of Rimuru himself not the Sage skill. As a person and in his current state he's pretty average intelligence compared to modern people. In this new world he's probably considered a bit above average by comparison and he can consult the sage skill for further wisdom on matters. At least that's how I took his comment as someone who hasn't read the manga and probably won't. I prefer light novel or anime form of stories not so much the manga platform
OK, if we're doing this it's also Academy-ah not Aca-day-me-ah. Love the channel BTW. Is that the time? I've got to go to tell Pixar how to make movies.
I can understand where you're coming from regarding the 'lessening' of Japan's role in WW2, but consider the context my dude. Shizu had barely stepped into the age of reasoning when her world was burnt down, so from that perspective she really doesn't need to be forced into a position of 'national guilt'. Especially considering what she's already been through. Otherwise I agree with pretty much every one of your points.
It would be nice to see a show that forces victims of atrocities committed during the war from all sides involved who hate each other's nations to meet each other. Then realize that every nation including their own had the blood of the innocent on their hands. And that the deplorable actions and decisions of a few or many don't represent everyone in their society. And in the end, they are more similar than different as they see each other's pain being the same as their own.
@@davidyang6074 Oh I totally agree. There are many bits of history that are conveniently just omitted or glossed over in school. At best its to focus on what some people perceive as the more important parts to remember. At worst its deliberate biased narrative manipulation. I think everyone would benefit from having all the facts of history to gain a more nuanced and accurate account of who did what and why.
Watched the first episode and decided to read the manga. Totally worth every minute. Also too soon... too soon man! Argh, I'm crying because of what the anime will cover next ep...
Yes, when he was essentially talking about this series breaking isekai anime tropes in regards to this ship, I was expecting him to mention this. I too felt the scene he mentioned, but this is where I saw the show as subverting the genre much more.
It also shows how good the source material is. I highly suggest the Manga (even if you aren't someone who's generally into written Japanese content, the fan translation is top-notch and up to chapter 47 currently), I of course recommend the Light Novels too but that's a much bigger step than the awesome image-filled Manga.
Are you kidding? Her death was so clearly telegraphed that it was almost exhausting trying to care enough to watch her sappy death scene and everyone crying over her after appearing in *like, a single episode*
The scene that really got me was when Shizue died and saw her mother again, and as she ran toward her she grew younger until she was just a child in her mothers arms. Her idea of heaven was the last time she was happy, before the war and death and demon possession. I just found that so beautiful it moved me to freakin tears
Oh hey, didn't expect to see you over here. I really need to get caught up on your Tales series and your co-op let's plays with your sister, you make fun content.
One thing that I liked in this show is that it handles discrimination with humans being really prejudiced against rimuru and the other monsters. We see many people not trust the Jura tempest federation because of it being monsters and also humans outside dwargon bully rimuru and gobta for being monsters. I just love how it deals with these real life problems
In the first half of season 1 sure, but then in the second half you have people going "pfft, a slime? What a joke", and then they see that he has a town and go "I pledge my undying allegiance to you and will follow you until the end of my days my great lord" almost immediately
@@s3a.w oh trust me I dont have a problem with them saying "ah, I see that you are much more capable than I assume, my apologies, let us work together". What I DO have a problem with is the fact that they use words like "I pledge my undying allegiance to you" just because he has a hot springs and some food. With the goblins and lizardfolk them making that kind of vow makes sense because he saved their tribes, but its stupid for a bunch of humans that just met him and were going "harumph, a slime?!? As if" a scene ago would say that after he has done pretty much nothing for them Its also just a problem with the show in general that every single character can be described in 3 traits: 1: they are op and super epic uwu (even though by making every single character a badass it kinda makes none of them seem badass because if its that easy to be a badass then it isnt impressive) 2: they wanna have sex with rimiru because damn isnt rimiru such a good person boy I love rimiru, if anyone even slightly insults him I WIlL KiLl ThEm. Like, the ogres will literally threaten to kill people immediately just because they are slightly surprised by rimiru being a slime. Kinda just makes them seem like dicks 3: some random running gag that is repeated to death to the point where it mostly stops being funny. The mute dwarf guy? Great gag until they start doing it three times an episode. Rigurd crying because rigor is all grown up? Funny, but then they literally did it like 4 times in one scene. Shion being incredibly incompetent despite being a secretary? Generic but still funny enough, until it gets to the point where she throws tantrums because rimiru wants to go somewhere without her and almost blows up buildings on accident When those are the only 3 traits that every. Single. Character. Possesses it gets super tedious and boring. The only characters I liked were gobta because they actually kept expanding his gag so that it didnt get old and gabiru since he actually had flaws that made his arc interesting. Dont get me wrong, I can see how people would like the show but I dont see why people are going "man this is the best isekai ive ever seen! Its the only isekai I like and its one of my favorite anime". To me its almost like sao with how much of a gary sue rimiru is and how his entire village is basically a harem for him, except that isnt played as a joke, because that would actually be funny. Its an ok show but its nowhere near konosuba, rezero, or shield hero and thats only considering other isekai that I can think of off the top of my head Anyways, uh, I didnt mean to go on a tangent there but oh well
@@s3a.w its not like im saying "if you like reincarnated as a slime then youre a piece of shit with awful taste", im simply pointing out the flaws I see in the show and why I personally think it is bad If you think that is "uncool" then why are you on an anime reviewer's channel? I'm looking forward to the next big series: "That One Time I Wrote a Fantasy Light Novel and Gave It an Incredibly Ridiculous Title But It Became Super Popular Anyway".
as someone who couldn't put the light novels down. the show is actually going by at a breakneck pace, it's going by incredibly fast. there's more world building in the books and if that's what your into, it's perfect for you. put it this way, watching the show and i still couldn't explain what the town looked like, but with the light-novels i have a perfect picture of it in my mind.
That's bc you have to build the world by writting since that's your only medium, once animated nobody really cares bc it's just background and with one look you can see everything the guy would take 2 pages to fully describe, which is why it's said a picture is worth a thousand words. Also, backgrounds aren't a priority when animating so no wonder they turn out so bland.
What make me fall in love with is this. All of the other "good" isekai like overlord, re:zero, no game no life, konosuba, became good because they offer something new. Overlord have the mc being a villain. Re: zero is phsycological horror. And konosuba is comedy. But tensura is good while still being a cliche. You can't say overlord or re:zero is what isekai should be like, because well they have very differemt premise, it's like comparing pizza to say, a bowl of soup, completely different thing. But tensura have the same cliche premise as other mainstream isekai, its's also a pizza, but a good pizza. It take a cliche concept and actually make it enjoyable to watch. Tensura is the ultimate example of what tipical cliche isekai should be like.
For me, tensura is wholesome because it gives me fantasy vibe(i mean like a new fresh air fantasy), unique character, and even Great Sage work. Like wtf, Great Sage should receive more credit, it's literally wholesome:D

The memory scene with Shizu was not in the manga, and it is moments like that that draw me in to watching the anime despite knowing what will happen next. The way that it develops the characters is wonderful, and even though I love the webnovel and manga, the anime is great.
Julie-Emma Chamberlain Was it? I read the Webnovel a long time ago, but I don't remember that bit. I know it wasn't in the manga. Maybe it was added in the light novel? It would've been put together after the web novel, and the anime is based on the light novel.

Even if he has to occasionally act like a villain in order to do it.
yep he's what if an average joe had that happen and wasn't secretly a master of the sword and had both a sexy sister and a dojo out in his backyard
is this your Theory or a spoiler? anyway im really curious how the series will go on. The bigger his Goblin / mix race Village gets the more Attention it will get from other coutrys and it will constantly get harder to rule and Keep safe his little empire.

Explosion in Slime: BANG!

But Rimuru is so cheerful, helpful, understanding and most of all believes the best of the world. I love him as the protagonist, anyone else just wouldn't do

Rimuru gives veldora the tempest name. He was just called veldora the storm dragon before Rimuru gave him the tempest last name
Yeah but it didn’t make veldora any stronger because he already had a name and Rimuru didn’t have enough magic to override it.
That’s actually somewhat explained in the non-anime sources.
Minor spoilers
Because Veldora gave Rimuru his name, and Rimuru gave Veldora his family name, they pretty much become brothers
As such, Rimuru has the ability to use Veldora’s skills and magic, with Veldora somewhat able to us Rimuru’s skills and magics
When I first read the manga I totally glossed over that the fact that Veldora, one of the strongest creatures in existence, named Rimuru and gave him his power... was like 12 chapters later when I realized that Veldora was why he was so strong.
triplea657aaa I thought it was from the Crystal's he absorbed for days, which I guess were from veldora too
combination of a number of things. Raw magical power was from Veldora, but a lot of what he uses regularly is either Predator copies or durability that he started with.
Iirc he only used veldy's power when he's naming a lot of monsters or high level ones so that he wouldn't evaporate because he used up all of his magicules
I like that his powers are explained, most protagonists are OP just cause.

I rewinded when I heard him say that
The Light novels go nowhere so it would have to have a lot of original content
That Time I Got Reincarnated As The Pokemon Ditto.
If you don't mind spoilers, I can tell you something that would cheer you up about this.
Let me guess he comes to love in the village. (This us seriously a guess anine only here)
Nah no need for spoilers, I want to experience the anime without any spoilers, whether they're good or not. Thanks for asking though :)
Shizu was actually foreshadowing how you have to eat in restaurants now
Spoilers bro. I haven’t caught up to 2019 yet.
To be fair, Japan's actions during WWII isn't really relevant to Shizu's backstory. She was a small child at the time. All we need to know is that she was there, and that Rimiru used his own memories to show her that Japan survived and even prospered afterwards.
Rimuru* - Don't you start picking up his habit, lol.
The U.S.'s actions*
Ya know, unless Japan was bombing itself.
@@MH-km8ik Japan attacked the USA first and did horrible things to many people, especially the chinese. They honestly weren't much morally better than Germany at the time.

That transition into the promotion tho... damn that was great
I know, right? That was downright impressive!

Um lets just say Great Sage is the strongest period. @@TheZenGrenadier

Season 2 Episode 10: About that..........
The manga immediately sucked me in, i love this upbeat little world.
Good point 👍
It would be nice to see a show that forces victims of atrocities committed during the war from all sides involved who hate each other's nations to meet each other. Then realize that every nation including their own had the blood of the innocent on their hands. And that the deplorable actions and decisions of a few or many don't represent everyone in their society. And in the end, they are more similar than different as they see each other's pain being the same as their own.
Yeah, but at least they should KNOW what happened, while their government tries to just cover it up
@@davidyang6074 Oh I totally agree.

Indeed.
Welp, that ship lasted long...
Another unexpected outcome. Just shows how good the anime is.
I guess you could say.....
They'll be together forever.
Even a scene where Rimuru makes a comment about how he hopes this isnt that trope where the hot girl cant cook at all was just great.
The scene that really got me was when Shizue died and saw her mother again, and as she ran toward her she grew younger until she was just a child in her mothers arms. Her idea of heaven was the last time she was happy, before the war and death and demon possession. I just found that so beautiful it moved me to freakin tears

That is literally the best and most slick sponsorship transition I have ever seen in my entire life.
Ditto. I was absolutely flabbergasted. Like, I didn't even see the transition coming until he was almost done with it.
As if" a scene ago would say that after he has done pretty much nothing for them
Its also just a problem with the show in general that every single character can be described in 3 traits:
1: they are op and super epic uwu (even though by making every single character a badass it kinda makes none of them seem badass because if its that easy to be a badass then it isnt impressive)
2: they wanna have sex with rimiru because damn isnt rimiru such a good person boy I love rimiru, if anyone even slightly insults him I WIlL KiLl ThEm. Like, the ogres will literally threaten to kill people immediately just because they are slightly surprised by rimiru being a slime. Kinda just makes them seem like dicks
3: some random running gag that is repeated to death to the point where it mostly stops being funny. The mute dwarf guy? Great gag until they start doing it three times an episode. Rigurd crying because rigor is all grown up? Funny, but then they literally did it like 4 times in one scene. Shion being incredibly incompetent despite being a secretary? Generic but still funny enough, until it gets to the point where she throws tantrums because rimiru wants to go somewhere without her and almost blows up buildings on accident
When those are the only 3 traits that every. Single.
Its an ok show but its nowhere near konosuba, rezero, or shield hero and thats only considering other isekai that I can think of off the top of my head
Anyways, uh, I didnt mean to go on a tangent there but oh well
@@s3a.w its not like im saying "if you like reincarnated as a slime then youre a piece of shit with awful taste", im simply pointing out the flaws I see in the show and why I personally think it is bad
If you think that is "uncool" then why are you on an anime reviewer's channel? Because what I did is no different from what he did to sao, or dragons dogma, or any of the shows on his "trash isekai of the season" videos. The only difference is that the show im criticizing is actually well-received. So if you dont like how I talked about the show then I suggest you leave the anime reviewing community because people trash-talk shows all the time.
As long as you dont insult the viewers and only insult the show then saying you dont like something is never "uncool"

I'm looking forward to the next big series: "That One Time I Wrote a Fantasy Light Novel and Gave It an Incredibly Ridiculous Title But It Became Super Popular Anyway".
I actually want to see this
as someone who couldn't put the light novels down. the show is actually going by at a breakneck pace, it's going by incredibly fast. there's more world building in the books and if that's what your into, it's perfect for you. put it this way, watching the show and i still couldn't explain what the town looked like, but with the light-novels i have a perfect picture of it in my mind.
That's bc you have to build the world by writting since that's your only medium, once animated nobody really cares bc it's just background and with one look you can see everything the guy would take 2 pages to fully describe, which is why it's said a picture is worth a thousand words. Also, backgrounds aren't a priority when animating so no wonder they turn out so bland.
that sounds absolutely unbearable.
This series also has a manga for those who dont like to read as much
why was the best joke when you said very very good dogs
