I know and can't get rid of it. Thanks for the heads up!! Trying to figure out why. Only shows up when I upload to TH-cam. Actually had uploaded another version of this a few days ago. Reshot the parts. (My red shirt). Then uploaded again and different ones echoed. So I just went with it.
Great info! Really helpful. As a heads up to others that Talaris is NOT fun mix. It will stink terribly, takes quite a while to mix up and your tank will smell awful for a long time. For most folks just to get the 3336f. So much easier and worth it over the hassle and smell of that Talaris powder.
Thanks!!! And thanks for the heads up. It's why I showed short video on mixing and mentioned the odor. WSP can be tricky if you don't have good agitation.
I found that too. That is why you have to purchase 2 of those for every one of the bioadvance product. That makes it so expensive when compared to the other fungicides.
Thanks...great info and wish I had seen earlier in year since it's the end of July now and only recently spotted the early morning cobweb fungus and starting to see color change/leaf damage. I'll go ahead and try 1-application of Gr 1 to see what happens. Is there a Group 1 hose end spray? Thanks
Over application of the fungicides can harm the grass... correct? I speak from experience. I've used azoxystrobin and propaconazole typically with good results but... when oversold I was left with a dull looking, slow growing lawn....
Propaconazole is a DMI fungicides and they have been shown to reduce clippings on bent grass greens. It in a way, they like a plant growth regulator but does not have a significant effect on the health of the turf. As long a the label rates were followed you should be fine but there is an effect.
@GregPhillips.22 thanks Greg..I think I did exceed the rate... by mistake. I have areas that, as noted, have a dull gray hue and are slow growing as the rest of the lawn is bright healthy looking and growing faster... stupid error. I've been spoon feeding with fertilizer and N-Ext Micro Grren every 2 weeks. I'm hoping it'll recover before the end of the season. I'm in NE Ohio
I’ve treated my lawn(KBG and Rye mix) with Bio Advanced because I had what looked like fungus I thought/think. Applied mid late May and again a month later. Same problem every year as temps rise in Southern Ontario. Areas are brown yellow in spots but I’m not sure if it’s actually creeping bentgrass or fungus. Same problem every summer.
Greg, I applied disease ex the preventative rate 2 days ago and this morning I noticed a bunch of pythium in my yard. Should I go out and apply another application at the preventative rate to “double” it?
I can’t find the Scott’s product anywhere with the theophamate-methyl active ingredient. Disease EX won’t work on dollar spot so not great to rotate with bio-advanced propicanozole product. I did find a Bonide infuse product on Amazon with theophamate-methyl. Since I’m stuck with granular for my current usecase would this product work for this scenario to rotate with bio advanced propicanozole product?
Scotts does not have a theophamate-methyl that I am aware of. On Amazon you can get 3336 dg or you can try do my own.com. If you are looking for got it in a granular. Will leave an Amazon and a do my own links below. Hopefully one or the other will ship to you. I know Amazon will not ship 3336 in a granular to my location. Kentucky Bluegrass is probably the most susceptible to fungus in home lawns. I would start putting out a group 3 mid April followed by second app in mid May. Then put out a combination of a group 1 and a group 11 in mid June. Mid July put a group 3 and 11 on. Then go back to a group 1 and 11. Then first of September group 3. Possibly another app of group 1 in early October. That should cover you for the year.
All groups in the video control summer patch. For summer patch you will only need to rotate between any 2 of the three groups. Its dollar spot where if you don't rotate groups 3 and 1 that you need to be concerned about dollar spot resistance.
Tons of good info in this video. I've watched it at least a dozen times. If the Talaris comes in 4 x 8 oz packets and you are suggesting using 2 gallons of liquid per 1000sf, how do you mix the Talaris? Wouldn't you need 16 gallons of liquid?
"Liquid" you mean spray volume. The gallons of liquid from the spray tank. Just wanted to make that clear. For a 4 gallon back pack sprayer at 4 ounce rate you wound need 8 ounces of talaris per back pack sprayer..or 4 ounces for the 2 ounce rate.
Given the amount of water needed per 1000sf with these products, would a hose end sprayer be a good way of applying them? Or do they require too much aggitation to work in a hose end sprayer? By the way, I've often been called "Greg" by mistake.
Have been called Craig myself. The hose end adaptors for me...make it very easy to put out fungicides. They cost a little more but since you are not mixing, worrying about spray volume and the cleanup is nothing at all. If I was putting out a group 3 fungicide I would go with a hose end sprayer. It's just too easy and you are going to get good coverage.
Thanks for this.
Just an FYI, at about 15:00 you have and echo in the audio.

Best videos out there. And I’ve watched a ton. Glad I found this. New favorite

Just treated for fungus, good video thanks for this
Thanks for the feedback.! Hope your summer is going well!!
I was just looking into fungicides, the immunox only covers 2500sq according to the label
I found that too. That is why you have to purchase 2 of those for every one of the bioadvance product. That makes it so expensive when compared to the other fungicides.
@@GregPhillips.22 It also has a lower percentage of the active ingredient.

Unfortunately there is not a group 1 fungicide available in a hose end sprayer that I am aware of.

Has it been dry there? It could be drought dormancy and/or localized dry spot.

Yes likely you had it when you applied it. Just did not notice it.

What would be the most important fungicides to have on hand for a 100% KBG Lawn? What diseases are kbg lawns most susceptible to?
Thanks
