Most authentic version of self question- I disagree with the premise of this question. We have versions of ourselves for every situation. I'm the most authentic version of myself in places/with people I'm comfy with or when I'm alone. It isn't linear and probably never will be.
Exactly my way of seeing it. I think nobody can be inauthentic, I think everyone is multi faceted and shows different people and situations different versions of themselves. All of this is what makes one person. A human life can’t be watered down to one version of one fixed point in a lifetime :)
As a fellow Design graduate, just wanted to chime in with my unasked for advice: Don't be afraid to try. It's SO easy to be afraid to try, to ask, to show your imperfect ideas. Imperfect ideas are like the seeds being sprouted to life and no one will judge you for being a sprout, they will ONLY help. Stick to your ideas, show your ideas to people, talk about your work, your process and people will help. No one is going to judge you. Just don't be afraid, that's worse than having a bad idea. A bad idea can be developed, no ideas can't be.
Hearing about the car accident kinda made me feel less alone. I feel like no one talks about these bad times so it can feel lonely. I was in a similar situation recently but a bit less severe. Still felt awful. I’m glad you weren’t hurt!

I vividly remember how disappointed you were that day back in college, when you found out you couldn't attend the ceramics course...and now...seeing these beauuuuuuuuuutiful ceramics, all crafted and created by you.. just makes me happy beyond words!! ♥️

I'm so glad you talked about making friends. I finished my bachelor's in may & after four years of college, I have no friends to show for it. I have been so sad & I basically fled that city because the memories of having NO memories was super depressing! now I am fixing to move to a new city to start my master's & I am really hopeful that I will make some deep connections. I also have trust issues & self-confidence issues so yes I want to get my degree but more importantly I want to learn how to believe in my worth as a person & a friend & how to trust people that care about me. I want this new city to feel like home, I am so tired of feeling lost. so thank you for talking about making friends, I feel less scared about it all

i really loved and resonated with your section about making new friends and the intentions behind it. i also struggle with the feeling that i don't have enough friends as i "should" and feeling a sense of loneliness because i don't have that "best friend/ride or die" that everyone on social media seems to have. but what you said really made me check in with myself-- why does it matter if i have a best friend that can be perceived by others? what are my intentions with making friends-- is it to show off that i have friends and therefore fit in? i will definitely start approach making friends with love at the forefront rather than these external pressures. and it's comforting to know that a big youtuber such as yourself has these similar moments of reflection. i hope your friendships flourish and that you grow meaningful relationships that last a life time
Dear annabelle, I always loved watching your vlogs… and i almost watched all of it but i missed out on you since january this year because i have been preparing for civil services in my country (India) and its considered of the toughest exam in the country. Its a very tiring journey to a point where one have to do rigorous study for minumum 7 to 8 hours every day, sacrificing other activities and social media that could distract. Since last week i have been feeling really bogged down and burnt out and demotivated so today i decided to watch one of your videos it has always been so therapeutic to me. Congratulations on Aunthood. And Thank you for doing what you do. It helps🙏🏽 love from north-east India. I really hope you see this and realize your reach♥️
listening to your part about finding friendships and envying girl groups that would do photoshoots or brunch and all that stuff together. I was once friends with a similar group of girls and learned that they met while in college and really had their foundational friendship built there. While I was technically an outsider to the group, they "accepted" me but even then, I did not feel like i belonged. they were actually not the best kind of friends and were kind of shallow, kind of mean, and to me, they felt very inauthentic. While they did show themselves their best versions on IG, getting to know them on a more private and personal level was way too intense for my liking as there was tons of unnecessary drama and "misunderstandings" aka gossip. you'll find your friends, it just may take some time. hopefully, they are ones that accept you fully and whole-y. wishing you the best

I too wonder if I am at fault for certain things because I wasn’t “fully authentic.” I think being honest about one’s intentions is definitely one thing that should be consistent throughout someone’s journey, however I feel like we also try to do our best and be honest with what we know about ourselves at the current moment. Later on we may realize that we truly felt differently about something when we thought it was one way before. Both feelings are real and I think so long as we didn’t keep away or lie about things we already knew, it’s just a part of the process of growing and reshaping.
