I love how MeatCanyon is slowly becoming more cinematic and based more on drama, i will always say this but he needs to be some kind of horror director has insane potential
He just has those elements of life, horror, unnatural and creepy all in a single animation. Giving a nostalgic vibe in back in the 90s and 80s these were the film's we would watch. Movies nowadays lack these elements especially horror movies.
This manages to be so wonderfully unsettling, without needing to have any death or incredibly dark turn. It just has that looming eeriness from the anticipation, which makes the payoff so unexpected. As expected, it's an absolutely brilliant video.

The ending just demonstrates the impact music can have on a piece like this. Instead of the usual far down the deep end stuff, it's a somewhat wholesome refrain for the father and son. Love it

The fact that even if his son became far from normal he still loved him the same and treated him like how a loving father would, heck even in the end he still love him even seeing the monstrosity his son became. That dad should be nominated as the #1 dad and that's what the mug is for.
The amount of likes paints a disturbing picture. Too much isolation + parenting without letting a child exprience the outside world for him/herself (or Shoving to experience), leads to problems. Saying you still love your child, when you failed at parenting - is a coping mechanism and a way to paint away your failures and the failure/fear of seeking help when not knowing what the f to do.
Everyone’s talked about how great the animation of Meat Canyon is, but the dialogue and shot composition is INCREDIBLY well done and adds so much to the horror. It genuinely feels like a movie with how it’s framed and written.
This honestly could be a story in itself, I found myself forgetting that it was even a parody of dream, it felt genuine. It wasn't a cheap spoof, it felt like it had some actual thought put into it, amazing as always.
I love how the father talks about the mutation in such a way that it's completely believable that someone without all the flashbacks and context would believe the son is dead and his dad is just insane. Absolutely fucking brilliant

He decides to take matters into his own hands, becoming an "amateur" in entomology just to get a better idea of what could be wrong. Even though his son doesn't look human anymore he still loves him and tries his best to at least bring back a semblance of his spark, picking up a videogame his son loves and streaming it so the kid could still have a connection with others. Yet that too eventually fails, leading him to no longer see his child's face which he very much misses (even though the skin has decayed by this point). He puts in so much effort for the sake of his son. Finally, after probably months or even years of pain and despair with no solution in sight does the son finally reappear again. And the father, instead of freaking out at the physical monstrosity his son has now become, is just glad he can see his boy again. And because he's the good father that only wants what's best for his kid, he opens the window and gives his blessings for the kid to fly out and be free. How is that not wholesome? It's wholesome as fuck. It's obviously extremely different from a typical sob story but it still has elements of a tragedy with a wholesome ending; a father's son goes through a tragedy, nobody can help the child so the father tries his best to figure out what's wrong, the child doesn't look or behave the same because of the tragedy but his father's love never diminishes, and when there's finally a resolution the father still does what's best for the child even though it implies he may never see him again. It's a testament to how far a father's love can stretch and the lengths he will go for the sake of his son. At the end of the day it's a video about a dad who is going through a shitty situation who only wants what's best for his kid.

I just love the insanity of the piece- thats what meatcanyon does so good, its like Midsommar. You know there is something disturbing, yet its also beautiful, especially to the "antagonist" of the movie.
incredible, simply incredible. from the voice acting on how a father lost his child because of something and had to take care of him all by himself while other people didn't know what he was going through and never understood him or his son and with this it is also accompanied with the amazing soundtrack you have created for this video. brings a tear to my eye

As he was out, exploring the world, his father kept the masses entertained, eventually becoming popular. He tried music, and it had... An effect. Not a good one, though. But despite the backlash, he was still there. And his son, well... He visited every now and then to say Hi. Because everybody deserves a parental figure. Even eldritch abominations.

This toon more than any other before showed me that Meatcanyon could absolutely create a phenomenal horror movie/series. Obviously he can do disturbing visuals, we know that much, but his ability to put a narrative together is very strong and not a lot of people mention it. Monster Lab was great, if short lived, so I'm excited to see what projects Papa Meat will put out in the future.
I want to see what he can do with a big budget and a writing team. All the best talent is going to come from TH-cam and other similar platforms in the future.

This toon more than any other before showed me that Meatcanyon could absolutely create a phenomenal horror movie/series. Obviously he can do disturbing visuals, we know that much, but his ability to put a narrative together is very strong and not a lot of people mention it. Monster Lab was great, if short lived, so I'm excited to see what projects Papa Meat will put out in the future.
