    This would be cool as a computer or video game where on the Jeep tour, you can select the order or tiles you want to activate, the computer marks off if you can actually accomplish task, and then you press play, and you watch an animation of the Jeep tour from the perspective of a park-goer and you can watch people being ripped out of the jeep.

    There is one reliable (but limited) way to augument your workers through the garage upgrades which give you a single worker of your choice per turn (plus one when building it so use time that in a pinch).
    I think if there would be more options to mitigate the workers it would result in a run away Leader.

    I think that Pandasaurus should have just took the plunge and put small 8mm dice for the boredom counters. I bought a pack of 100 for $3.50 on Amazon, I can't imagine that it would have cost them that much to get them wholesale.

    The promo card that comes with the KS version lets you, once per game, exchange up to 2 workers of any colors for another 2 workers of any colors. And it grants you 7vp if you don't use it. Sounds like your feedback about getting a bum last turn because the workers you need weren't drawn was feedback from others as well. Nice to know that was addressed - And you don't really need the promo card at all to play with that rule.

  • @Bandit-137

    But there is some mitigation! DNA can be split and the Jeeple upgrade can get you a worker of your choice.
    We also enjoy the game but found the rulebook & player aid errors bothersome. The boredom tokens are also terrible. Thin cards and scoreboard needed to be duel layered like the player boards. Otherwise we do enjoy the gameplay.😁

  • @jeffreywriddlejr
    @jeffreywriddlejr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The game feels much better once you swap the boredom chits out for dice. We've only played less than 5 times, but still it didn't seem like each player realistically needs more than 6 or 7 dice, as some tiles are so good as to warrant visiting 4 or even all 5 times. I kinda wish the special tiles weren't stacked in such a way as to make the game feel so samey every time, what with the A tiles being on top of the B tiles, who are then on top of the C tiles. Oh, and Incubator feels a bit too good.

  • @DrFrankenolly
    @DrFrankenolly 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I can attest to the absolute annoyance of the Tic-Tac sized boredom tokens. So tedious to punch out. Text printed 1-5 on the tiles with a translucent cube to keep track would’ve sufficed.

    • @saveversus
      @saveversus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The designers said even they used dice, but adding more dice would have upped the price of the game. This is one of those things where I feel giving us nothing would have been better than those small little chads tho. I was so annoyed punching them out.

  • @TheTenth666

    the very low point on this game is the number of points given by the objectives, it can easily be 40/50% of the points you'll get in the game, thus becoming the primary objective, and thus deciding what you will do in the game rather than letting you do the things you find fun or establising your personal strategy
    In solo (which I'll do most of the time) it's even worse, becoming the only thing you'll actually do or you'll lose so many points for not doing objectives

    28:15 What is Tom talking about? Suggesting that this is more thematic than Dinosaur Island and that Dinogenics was 'even more' thematic than Dinosaur Island. I think he's wearing hats that are 10 sizes too small for his head. Dinosaur World is only 'more' thematic if you want a park that requires jeepLES(!) vs a park more like 6 Flags. And Dinogenics was garbage...so there.

    Between Dinosaur Island (which I really like) and Duelosaur Island (which is fine) and Dinogenics (which I don't like for 2 because of runaway leaders but is good for solo) and tiny epic dinosaurs, why would I want to buy yet a third interpretation of the same theme by the same designers?

  • @82ndmi
    @82ndmi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    When I played, the randomness of if someone gets eaten, lead to one person having no deaths and winning at the end of the game with essentially a themepark with almost no dinos...this really threw me off the game. I want big bombastic dinos and crisis in my dino park games, this felt like the way to win was to create a bunch of gift shops and rides with a small petting zoo. HOW BORING.
    Yes random elements can be fun in games, but this is not the kind of randomness that causes a trex to come out and eat someone. This is randomness of a spreadsheet you find at the end of the game that has a random negative point value set by the lowest deaths at the table, with that number being fairly random based on if visiting their attractions caused someone to be eaten. AND the negative points are also on a curve, quickly increasing to the point that if one person at the table isn't getting deaths, you have to dedicate your entire game to not having fun, but trying to lessen your kill count as the negative points become crippling to any other strategy.
    and that's really the killer, while in island and genics I spent most my game thinking about what I wanted to build, in world I'm only allowed to do one thing if the luck goes against me. It would be like playing a cowboy sandbox game where I have to clean up my act and go to church or the law would eventually catch up to me and put me in jail.
    Overall, owning every game in the genre. this was by far the least fun to play, even if mechanically it's really neat up until the end game scoring.

      If you are being winning by owning zero dinosaurs, then your competitors must also be having zero dinosaurs. Not building dinosaurs simply is not competing in terms of overall victory points and game incoming compared to building dinosaurs. You might be having to spend a lot of your resources on getting more security to deal with the danger of building more dinosaurs, this is very true. You might be feeling that you are not building enough dinosaurs, which is also a feeling I am having playing this game, but building dinosaurs is a must!

    • @82ndmi
      @82ndmi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Richard-sy1ej didn't say 0, I said barely any (1 herbavore, maybe a second late late game) with 0 deaths due to how visiting deaths trigger dice rolls. two people went this strategy, 1 rolled some deaths, 1 rolled 0 deaths, 0 deaths rolled won. The issue is when people tank out near 0 deaths.. you absolutely can't win when deaths cost you 2-3 points per, you're forced into their game and not the one you want to be in. Nothing you can do that incurs any deaths will be a net gain of points against someone playing it safe, but equally as skilled.

    • @Richard-sy1ej
      @Richard-sy1ej 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@82ndmi These strategies making sense how? With getting so little dinosaurs you are getting so little excitement and moneys, so cannot build bigger parks. Investing solely in money and administrators? Simply not effective.
      Even strategy revolving around triceratops toss for 4 victory points cannot compete to so many victory points from making bigger dinosaurs. Don't even need to visit and risk deaths until having 3 or 4 dinos, at which point victory points from making dinos alone more than full run of ring toss each round, which also makes no money. What you saying is simply not making sense from my having plays.
