When Toyota began its quest to manufacture its own V8, they purchased, dismantled and examined V8 from manufacturers from America to Germany. Those engineers laughed at Toyota for going down this road. Who’s laughing now? Buttery smooth engines and meticulously made to perfection. Hats off to this owner for being so meticulous in his care of his car.
The student clearly exceeded the master, because Toyota/Lexus have now built several V8s that are some of the best engines known to man. How they could cut over to a turbo'd V6 in the current LS is beyond me. The company just absolutely owned the concept of "naturally aspirated V8" through and through!!

I LOVE the 90's toyota/lexus videos! So hard to find videos of people still taking care of them on the road, fun to find a channel that appreciates taking care of the older models and being proud that they are still on the road and taken care of. Still daily driving my 97 Camry XLE, no rust and just hit 175k and no signs of stopping....just the definition of quality. I would love an LS400, if they made the same model today and rolled them out at the dealership I'd be the first one on the list, pride and craftsmanship.

OMG that is AMAZING. my love of Lexus started with the late second gen LS400 when I worked at a Toyota dealer (my bosses car). I now drive an absolutely immaculate Lexus IS350 in red, it has 90k kms (about 57k miles) and STILL there is more driver's seat wear than this car. I have some wheel damage (although minor) and a bit of very minor damage on the rear wheel arch, aside from that it's spectacular ..but THIS is still a step up. For my car to be PERFECT like this, i'll need a new driver's seat cover (although it's actually quite good TBH) and some gutter rash repair on the wheels. My car lives in a garage as I work from home, but still does school runs, weekend activities and some week night activities, it's certainly a daily driver, but still this LS is nuts.
It reminds me of my one-owner, mint-condition, 90,000 mile 2000 LE Camry V6 that I inherit. That 1MZ-FE engine drives smooth like a Lexus. Something about automobiles back in those days; they just have a timeless style and handling to them that just objectively looks and feels good. God bless the Golden Age days of Toyota/Lexus!
Defenetly a beauty 😍🚘 , i can tell the owner of this vehicle is a CCN👌👌 for preserving it in mirror condition ... Wishing you Mr CCN & Mrs CCN a Happy 4th of July and to anyone that reads this comment ... God bless and stay safe everyone 👍

AMD, Would you post a picture of the maintenance sheet you referred to in the video? I would like to see how the owners recorded the maintenance on a spreadsheet. Thank you.
Wow. I did a double-take on that one! What a prize! That toolkit and storage design is neat too. And it sounds like the owner regularly gets underneath it.
This is a very nice car. This is a car worth showing at a car show. Whatever they did to preserve it they did it very well and we're very passionate about it.
AMD, I miss sedans that remember they are sedans. In other words, the front and back seats are both designed to comfortably accommodate people. Is there a single sedan made now that has generous leg and head room in the rear? 🤔
They have screwed the design of today's sedans. I brought them till they made them too low to the ground for me to get into a real tight compartment compared to the older models. Loved the older Sedans. My 56 Olds was a nice sedan when I was a teen. Do miss them.
My friend owned a 1990 in 92. super smooth and beautiful car!! The LS400 is by far my favorite Lexus and I'll be purchasing a 1998-2000 model very soon!!

Wow, this car is just beautiful. 95% of the LS400s I see are on their 3rd-4th owner and are totally beaten up. It’s nice to see one that was actually maintained.
WOW!! The paint work is mint! So is the dashboard & leather seats, with leather seats they get shiny when they get worn, that leather has been really cherished. The engine bay is beautiful too. I worked for Toyota in the early 90's,a brand new Camry leather interior looks the same as that Lexus! That car was really cherished. 💖 Thanks for the video Amd.
That is amazing. A Mystic Gold FL LS400 is probably one of my favorite cars. I own a Mystic Gold PFL LS430, but the 400 is even more special. Best cars ever produced in earth.

Great video and thank you for sharing this with us, amazing state this car is in and has been well taking care of. 1990 was the first LS400 as my father bought a used one back in the day over a Mercedes’ he had his eye on. He was NOT a Japanese Car fan, but this car was amazing and converted my Dad over to the Lexus side. He later traded it in to buy another Lexus a beautiful 2008 ES350.
This video was just the motivation I needed to wax and detail my ES this weekend. This car is almost 25 years older than mine and looks just as new as mine! I drooled throughout the whole video
Mines the cleanest anyone has ever seen. The 1999 best year n Atlantis blue mica 90k miles invested 32k with the best color combo ever and brought it back to life.
This was a time when Lexus was going head to head with the Germans. To prove their quality, they made their best. I think Lexus don't make even the new LS as good as this.
LS models of this Era are one of the best cars ever made in the history of the Car industry. I have a 2004 GS 300 and just like the LS I can recognize the outstanding craftsmanship and build qualify. Simply put - the Best cars are made in Japan by Lexus or Acura. Far, Far better build than the European or domestic competitors. Hands down. I wish Lexus decide to re- produce these cars from that era- and I will buy one besides the outdated technology. My next car for sure will be a Lexus or Toyota!
A car museum in Southern Cal takes out their streetable cars and have then driven once a week on the freeway for one hour. They said letting a car sit, will actually let the car deteriorate quicker. So that's what I do with my cars I don't take out very often. They will get a once a week drive.
Thanks for sharing this AMD and Mrs CCN. What a fun tour! I'd recommend this 400 be on display at a Lexus dealership...but they'd probably get too many offers! And isn't that trunk tool kit a hoot? My LS430 has its tool kit ready for action, too...but for what?? lol
Not with all that suspension rust. Strut rods look rusted in place. Every undercarriage bolt, nut has surface rot. I have almost 190k on mine and zero rust issues.
@@Still-Sitting that was pretty funny. I’ll take AMD’s verdict over yours. If it was displayed at a dealership, no one would be crawling underneath moaning about standard wear items.
This car was only driven a little over 6,000 per year (500 miles per month or 16 MILES PER DAY)! Yes! It is absolutely a well taken care of vehicle but who drives only 500 miles per month? In my opinion, the use of this car was unusual and definitely NOT normal. My vehicles still look good but NOT great BUT they all average 250,000 + before being sold to someone else.
I live in a small town, aside from the movie theatre [3.5 miles away] everything else is between 2 and 2.5 miles and I generally go out once a day. Say 5 miles a day leaving 300 miles a month to go to the big city [120 miles round trip] once a month to get my Bollywood fix and visit my brother's cat] and about 2000 miles a year to go on drive abouts. Plenty
I had a 1995 LS400. It had absolutely zero problem except the miner leak on rack and pinion. Change oil (5W30) every 3K miles, ATF (Toyota T-IV) every 30K along with Castrol gear oil for rear end. Traded in a Jeep Wrangler with it after more than 10 years of trouble free ownership (tired of driving the same car for decade). That's where my trouble started.

I bought an 06 Mercury metallic 430 last year with 79k on it. It's a garage queen so very nice I don't want to drive it. I want to get a 1st Gen ls 400 in white next. Thanks for the great review! Lexus ls is the best!
@Travis … I picked up a Mercury Metallic on black ‘05 with Ultra Luxury Package and 119k back in January. Gotta love those Lexus color names - “Mercury Metallic” is silver, LOL.
@@paulrobak8151 It's a nice shade of silver. I like it best for the car then black cherry pearl. Is the 05 your daily driver? Ultra luxury very nice!
@@traviswhaley6515, no, it’s not my “daily.” I have an ‘07 LS460L in “Starfire Pearl” (white) that I use more.
@@paulrobak8151 👍
Sir your the the only one personnel ( youtuber) whom I saw and watched and subscribed without watching the whole vedio. My hot favourite. Be blessed.
I love looking at old cars kept in as new condition - you know its the new look condition of any car that makes it attractive
Very true.
One of the best cars ever made hands down.
Super clean!! Nicer body than my 1999 Land Cruiser but being a Southern California car it doesn’t have any rust.
Love that Toyota/Lexus v8!
This is what I love to see, the well taken care reliable vehicle
MY dear friend this was a joy to look at, the love and attention put into that car is a true testament to the owner and he should be a proud man. I love seeing true car care nuts like myself who put the time and love and attention into keeping perfect something they cherish and it totally shows. Ty this was a wonderful treat to my eyes and I can tell how much you loved showing us it. Please pass on a well done sir to the owner and thank them for allowing us a chance to see love in its glory with his perfect machine.
Keep safe Keep Strong Mate 🦘🦘🦘💖💖💖💖
My 2002 Lexus ES300 has similar build quality and fit and finish. Totally unparalleled
Same year vintage 1mzfe and a GM 3.8 l. Toyota engine is the smoothest engine I have ever had including some of the big block mopars of the 70s.
Peppy too.
My dad gave me his 1995 ls400 and it currently has 287k miles on it and it's still one of the best car I ever own it just won't die.
OH WOW! That car is in AMAZING shape!!! Unbelievable!
WOW WOW
love this model and the 2004 to 2006 body style
Defenetly a beauty 😍🚘 , i can tell the owner of this vehicle is a CCN👌👌 for preserving it in mirror condition ...
Wishing you Mr CCN & Mrs CCN a Happy 4th of July and to anyone that reads this comment ... God bless and stay safe everyone 👍
I admire the companies who care about their product and name. Toyota/Lexus is definitely one of them.
Look at that car, great shape after 23 years. Amazing.
wow what a treat to see the inside and undercarriage of this beautiful LS400!!!!! AMD your commentary on adds tremendous value to the video. Thank you for this amazing video team CAR CARE NUT... God bless!!!!
What a jewel. One of the best car's ever made.
Looks better than the modern LS. Classic subdued lines, understated grill. Elegance.
"Honey, dinner is ready!".............
"Just another couple of hours Blanche, I'm still dipping Q- Tips into Armor-All to buff these AC vents".😄
Wow! what a masterfully preserved & cleaned Lexus LS 400. U could set down your sandwich any where in the engine compartment.
Thanks for showcasing such a lovingly cared for vehicle Ahmed.phil🇺🇲👍
AMD, Would you post a picture of the maintenance sheet you referred to in the video? I would like to see how the owners recorded the maintenance on a spreadsheet. Thank you.
Also, the products used for regular clean/ maintenance/ wax/ shine, etc. Gorgeous
Absolutely gorgeous , what an immaculate condition
Wow. I did a double-take on that one! What a prize! That toolkit and storage design is neat too. And it sounds like the owner regularly gets underneath it.
What an amazing looking for its age. I like the way this car looks more than many of todays luxury cars.
@@bwest-yq3uc They are making the sedans so low and uncomfortable that people are forced into CUVs.
My friend owned a 1990 in 92. super smooth and beautiful car!! The LS400 is by far my favorite Lexus and I'll be purchasing a 1998-2000 model very soon!!
Exterior and interior of this vehicle... SPOTLESS!!!...
RESPECTs to the owners meticulous grooming and care of the car.
😎😎😎👍
Another awesome example of a car care nut Lexus LS 400. This is a great example of someone who love his car. Thank you for sharing AMD 👍👍
I have a 95 LS, with the Ebony Teal Pearl color. Even though it's not as perfect as this one, it's close. Best riding and driving car with 210,000 miles that I've ever experienced. Thanks for posting.
How is this even possible with 141k miles? It reminds me of my same color 1997 LS400 coach edition. This is gorgeous!
Wow, this car is just beautiful. 95% of the LS400s I see are on their 3rd-4th owner and are totally beaten up. It’s nice to see one that was actually maintained.
I stopped what I was watching as soon as I saw this thumbnail, a beauty!
That’s actually one of my dream car. They started being badged as Toyota Cressida Toyota took 10 of there best engineers and said let’s build a better car than what we are building right now.
I would be happy with a Cressida😁
@@rightlanehog3151 if you can find a 1985 Cressida hang on to it
I remember Jay-Z driving one of these in his "dead presidents" video in the 90's.. That's when I knew that Lexus was on the map for good.
Thanks for sharing this it goes to show you if you take good care of your cars they will last especially a Lexus or Toyota
Grill looks better back then
This was a time when Lexus was going head to head with the Germans.
This car will last forever. Congrats to the owner!
That car is definitely loved
I wish i could have a lexus. I wish i could have this solid engineering in my garage.
What a beauty! Made me want to clean the underbody of my ES!
Love that car. I have a 1997 SC400. Bought it from original owner. Close to perfect like this LS. I just drive my SC once per month to keep her happy.
If it was displayed at a dealership, no one would be crawling underneath moaning about standard wear items.
i have a 02 430 with 67th klms 430 is much improved over the 400....those badges are actually gold plated plastic .. i heard
Oh man. This is making me want this LS400 instead of buying a 2nd hand certified pre owned. The quality of this Lexus is just beyond amazing!
Think another way. What if the owner has two daily driving cars?
I live in a small town, aside from the movie theatre [3.5 miles away] everything else is between 2 and 2.5 miles and I generally go out once a day. Say 5 miles a day leaving 300 miles a month to go to the big city [120 miles round trip] once a month to get my Bollywood fix and visit my brother's cat] and about 2000 miles a year to go on drive abouts.
Plenty
Maybe the father had health issues and wasn’t able to drive it much since 2016 and not at all since 2018…
Wow, pristine! Kudos to the owner!
Beautiful, gorgeous car !!! Very impressive !!! Love for Lexus !!!
My 1998 Corolla CSX Liftback is a low mileage garage queen. It is in showroom condition. thanks to living in QLD Australia.
😁
great video always enjoy these retro car reviews and how you find these guys that have the mint condition cars. On a side note sorry about your father. thoughts and prayers to you all.
I thought these cars were the same size as the Camry, but until I saw one up close. It's big and beautiful.
What a beautiful car.
This is my favorite Lexus I had a 1999 LS400 same color best car I ever drove
Yes it was one of the best built vehicles
You just can't find that kind of elegance in today's new cars any more
Not only is the design elegant and restrained, it is also practical with a rear passenger compartment as accommodating as the front seats.
