I bought this album new (still have it on LP). I simply never want to hear the shortened version ever again, this is a masterpiece. Once in a while back in the 80s the radio stations would play this longer version.
I walked into Sam The Record Man in Toronto back in 1984 and they had this playing over the speaker system.. bought it straight away.. still love this whole album

Thanks to CFNY, we were fortunate to be exposed to a much greater variety of great music (e.g.from the U.K., Australia, N.Z. & continental Europe) than folks in many other parts of North America!

I love this “piece of musical art”, until NOW, 2023. I live in “GerMoney”, I sometimes have to “research” to understand the meanings. I do it “always*”, but: not until TODAY, I did it for this track! I've always felt, like cities "eat" people, I have to "rip out" myself, if I want to leave (travel). PRIVILEGE, just as relevant as in the year it was released (“Correct me if I’m wrong...”). It is one of my “hymns” - one that stays with me throughout my life. I find parts of myself in the music, the lyrics describe the feeling that connects us. And tells: YOU are not the “only one”, others also see like you. (Someone, somewhere... - Simple Minds) *really almost without exception, why not here, ???³.

@Udo Joerges Well said. I agree wholeheartedly. 1984 was still an age of Wonder for myself as well. We were pretty blessed to grow up surrounded by such a talented plethora of artists to create the soundtrack to our youth.

Damn. What an amazing remix. Viva Le Fixx ❤️ These guy’s are phenomenal. They’re timeless and more on point and dialled in and relevant NOW in 2021 than they where 20 years ago (they saw what was coming in a sense). Absolutely genius material. Sadly, only few SJW Snowflakes ❄️ will ever read this.
First time I've heard this version. I like some things about it, but it seems to have more of a morbid character than the LP version does, which for me is a negative aspect. Can't vote either way.

Du scheinst nicht der einizge zu sein, der die Maxi-Version nicht kennt/kannte...dafür kenne ich die LP-Version nicht..also mach dir nix draus ;-)
