Ken, I was created in 1963(to west coast hippy parents)so did the 1967 onwards music thing. Late 80's i was a toddler then little kid, early to mid 70's was a kid to pre-teen, mid 70's to late 80's I was a teen then a young man and girls and all they brought enhanced the music at each period mid 70's onwards.
this track stunned me when released in Australia in '82,i was 14,it stands alone in some respects as one of those songs that has the power that can stop u in your tracks and make you reflect, the mood in itself is unique,it grabs you,its a striking song, and film clip, always has been, always will be
Has humanity gotten so rotten thru the years that it can't even make great music anymore. I grew up with The Foxx and I will go to the other side when the time comes with their music in my head.
This sing describes the nation we live today. divided, socialist, injustice, pandemic, and an uncertain future. Stand or fall, state your peace tonight. Foreigner affairs are screwing us rotten....this deadly covid 19. this song may be over 35 years old, but it perfectly describes what we are living now in 2021
Awesome tune but also as a parent of two young children, this song makes me kinda sad and reminds me how much a parent can actually love their children. That is the greatest love!!
The present day music industry,as opposed to music, looks increasingly like a cartel or oligarchy where entry routes are almost entirely barred except via patronage (bar the TV talent show programmes whose winners will promptly have nearly all the rough or non-conformist edges planed off them by some industry mogul). The 80s and to a fair degree the 90s had so many different competing genres as opposed to everything having to fit into only two or three moulds, and as such where the kind of experimentation that used to be abundant no longer gets the slightest look-in,pushed out to the margins. From what I can see from the outside perspective of someone who long ago lost interest in them the MTVs of this world have morphed into a lifestyle channel for people who indentify with or buy into whatever they're promoting. It must be a frustrating and tiresome situation for many of the young and not-so-young-anymore who don't want to be part of an unthinking fuddy-duddy mass conditioned into being spoonfed generic corporate auto-tuned gloop. There are a few radio stations not hell-bent on safety-first formula but does seem to be an absence of a TV channel today that gives exposure to the best,or at least better or more interesting, innovative or risk-taking of the new music that presently gets relegated to the periphery.
My favorite Fixx song is "Chase the Fire". There's not a song on the "Walkabout" album that I'd skip if TH-cam or a radio station played it straight through.

I was 24 when this was released, and at 65 years of age, I still like this one.The early 1980s was a great time for music!.John M Guinto
I grew up listening to music in the sixties and seventies but the best music came from the eighties. I miss that decade.
I feel so lucky that I grew up in the 80s. I was a freshman in 83. Graduated in 86. Some of the best music ever!
Man, 1983 was a good year for music.
09/2023 ..... still listening to and breathing Fresh-air with FIXX ..... Happy and Safe tour guys"
this track stunned me when released in Australia in '82,i was 14,it stands alone in some respects as one of those songs that has the power that can stop u in your tracks and make you reflect, the mood in itself is unique,it grabs you,its a striking song, and film clip, always has been, always will be
I had a similar response, and also in Australia.
Howdy mate, I couldn't agree more. From Dallas TX
I'm also from Australia and I love this song too
Has humanity gotten so rotten thru the years that it can't even make great music anymore. I grew up with The Foxx and I will go to the other side when the time comes with their music in my head.
This song was played prior to the Tears for Fears concert in Tulsa. Roland and Curt haven't forgotten about the Fixx.
What does tears have to do with the fixx i mean what's your point

Stand or fall state your peace 🕊️ tonight 😮!
STILL HERE...ALL 54 4EVA TWEEN YRS YOUNG ❤FROM NYC!!
Nothing has changed. 😮
This sing describes the nation we live today. divided, socialist, injustice, pandemic, and an uncertain future. Stand or fall, state your peace tonight. Foreigner affairs are screwing us rotten....this deadly covid 19. this song may be over 35 years old, but it perfectly describes what we are living now in 2021
lol, this is the same version of humanity we have always had.
Cringe
So excited! Seeing The Foxx tonight @mohawk Austin TX 👏👏👏❤️
Awesome tune but also as a parent of two young children, this song makes me kinda sad and reminds me how much a parent can actually love their children. That is the greatest love!!
Growing up in the 80s, waking every morning and looking for the mushroom cloud.
MTV, when they really played music vids.
MTV ,Now they really suck !! Music died in 1989
The present day music industry,as opposed to music, looks increasingly like a cartel or oligarchy where entry routes are almost entirely barred except via patronage (bar the TV talent show programmes whose winners will promptly have nearly all the rough or non-conformist edges planed off them by some industry mogul).
Paula Abdul, Randy, and Simon were also truly willing and filthy pawns in this as well. Soulless fuck-snots to the max.
+Ralph Jackson Excellently put! So sadly the truth.
Oh yes, those were the good old days!
80’s music rocks
an 80s classic..
The 80s were awsome
fits perfectly for our current times
Seems all countries right now are talking tuff & its a bluff
My favorite Fixx song is "Chase the Fire". There's not a song on the "Walkabout" album that I'd skip if TH-cam or a radio station played it straight through.
Brings back so many memories of my teenage years! Love it!
Forgot how I enjoyed listening to their music. Brings back memories. ❤ 😢
Amazing song, still sounds great!!
And unfortunately still relevant. 😥
It's a shame you cant get this song on Apple Music or Spotify anymore!!! Man, I miss the 80's!! High School & College.....
Out on their own, classic
