That’s what so great about IU her songs seems easy to sing but I have seen many other singers do covers of her songs and no one comes close and even the singer’s themselves admit to the songs being difficult, yet because IU sings so effortlessly it seems easy. She’s a marvelous singer and what I like most about IU is her tone you know how in songs you need music/melodies to accompany your singing with IU it’s like she has a tune and a melody as she sings by herself 🙏🏻🌹
IU doesn't box her in with certain genre, she is her own genre and you never know what type of music she will present us and that's one of the reason I love and respect her. IU has too many good songs and clips to just pick few, you just have to go through them to appreciate how much talent she has and she is in control of her own albums, an awesome producer.

I was surprised at the part you said that you believe IU's acting is contributed to her singing. Since IU herself said that too.(She also said that her singing contributes to her acting as well.) I believe that because of that, her songs absorbs the listeners more easily. The emotion she expresses in her songs really seem natural.

I only recently got into the IUverse and I don’t know how to explain what drew me towards her except that from the very first moment I saw her I knew she was special. I was completely taken aback when you said about her being an actress somehow influenced her to express herself more freely in terms of music, because being a fan of her for quite some time now, and having watched most of her dramas, all of her acting roles/characters are worlds apart from each other, which she nailed flawlessly despite the fact. (btw, glad to tell you that she's just as big of a name in the acting world as she's in music.) and watching/listening to her music all this time, I would always feel that same kind of finness she uses to transition into her roles, the experimentation, the toying with the craft, and also having the liberty to write, compose, produce your own songs just makes it more easier for her to do that. and no doubt, if you look at her vast discography, you'll realise that she has ventured into almost all genres of music and created songs incorporating her own unique style. LILAC(the album) itself it's about saying goodbye during spring to her 20s and hi to her 30s, and epilogue also resembles that. The entire album has well written songs and each one of them it's completely different.
I will always recommend her live performance "dear name + through the night (2017 MMA)", I somehow still manage to shed a few tears listening to it, because it's so beautiful! Definitely a fan favorite among the fandom!

IU is a real A-list artist in Korea. Like you said she's a hardworking person being an artist and a singer at the same time. But what makes people respect her is she stayed at the top of every category she did while still being humble. It's so hard to make a name and stay on the very top of different professions at the same time. She goes by IU when she's being a singer and goes by her real name Lee Jieun when she's being an actress. When she was going to acting I thought, "oh just another singer tryna act". But no, she's great, got awards that she deserves, and is being respected on the field. That's why people call her a living legend, even at such young age. Cuz she did all of that at a very young age. She wasn't born yesterday.
I feel you're right in the acting and singing thing. I've thought several times while watching her dramas that her singing career seems to help her a lot with her acting. The way she speaks almost remind me a lot of singing even though she's definitely not singing at all, but mostly I guess in the way she projects her voice? And also with the way that every words she speaks seems very carefully controlled and precise.

IU said that she made an effort in trying different kinds of "voices" in singing each and every songs in this album,, i just look forward to seeing you giving comments on "My Sea" (high pitch) and "Coins" (low pitch),, but "My sea" you gotta listen to the full song 5:16, there is no complete live version yet. You may also listen to Lullaby in her previous mini album, she mentioned that she practised a lots in singing runs and riffs. I agreed with you that the uniqueness of IU 's songs is that not only her voice and lyrics are attractive, but also the music arrangement and her ideas in the songs. I guess this is also why IU 's songs can be so healing and filled with her true heart.
Please watch her life story you will find that not only is she a good singer, actress, and lyricist, but also humble and a good human being. Her fans are so important to her, and she continuosly tells them that she will work harder for them.

Love your reaction and the way you analyse her singing is incredible. In 2017, IU made an epic touching live performances of Through the Night and Dear Name in Melon Music Awards. The two songs are healing melodies to kpop community who mourned the deaths by suicide by Kpop artists where at least three of then are actually IU's close friends. Link below!

IU is a real A-list artist in Korea. Like you said she's a hardworking person being an artist and a singer at the same time. But what makes people respect her is she stayed at the top of every category she did while still being humble. It's so hard to make a name and stay on the very top of different professions at the same time. She goes by IU when she's being a singer and goes by her real name Lee Jieun when she's being an actress. When she was going to acting I thought, "oh just another singer tryna act". But no, she's great, got awards that she deserves, and is being respected on the field. That's why people call her a living legend, even at such young age. Cuz she did all of that at a very young age. She wasn't born yesterday.

I feel you're right in the acting and singing thing. I've thought several times while watching her dramas that her singing career seems to help her a lot with her acting. The way she speaks almost remind me a lot of singing even though she's definitely not singing at all, but mostly I guess in the way she projects her voice? And also with the way that every words she speaks seems very carefully controlled and precise.

IU said that she made an effort in trying different kinds of "voices" in singing each and every songs in this album,, i just look forward to seeing you giving comments on "My Sea" (high pitch) and "Coins" (low pitch),, but "My sea" you gotta listen to the full song 5:16, there is no complete live version yet. You may also listen to Lullaby in her previous mini album, she mentioned that she practised a lots in singing runs and riffs.
I agreed with you that the uniqueness of IU 's songs is that not only her voice and lyrics are attractive, but also the music arrangement and her ideas in the songs. I guess this is also why IU 's songs can be so healing and filled with her true heart.
Please watch her life story you will find that not only is she a good singer, actress, and lyricist, but also humble and a good human being. Her fans are so important to her, and she continuosly tells them that she will work harder for them.

I just became a fan of IU last year, her discography blew me away. You should check out her song Good Day, it's the song that made her famous. Dear Name and Through the Night are also good, her vocals there are amazing.
