Those first games for Tennessee were just the most bizarre series of events. Up until overtime in the A&M game, it was like no matter what was going on, they could not lose.
I'm the world biggest vols fan and I give a ton of credit to a&m but, Tennessee gave them a run for their money Tennessee was one pass away from winning that game, a&m got lucky dobbs made one single bad choice
Matthew Beazley Dobbs lost us two games in ot with first down pass plays. But the turnovers really lost us that game. We shouldn't have been in it.
Matthew Beazley The whole season was pretty bizarre. You're right though, in the games up until the A&M game, we had some crazy things happen. Lots of good comebacks. Then all those injuries that just kept happening, was reverse fortune. We still hung with A&M too, despite it all. I remember posting on a game day thread that game. People from all over the country were talking about our ability to create remarkable turnarounds. Was pretty exciting to watch.

I want to see every touchdown scored in the second half because that was 65% of our touchdowns
Going back and watching, you can see the team started the season with what looks like very little energy.
You can just tell Dormady in that offense is going to be the 2.0 version of Worley. Running the read option when everyone in the stadium knows QD won't pull the ball down and run.

Comment 2020--Pruitt should have been looking hard for Dobbs replacement right off the bat cause he had already seen Jarrett Tano when he worked for Saban. Unbelievable. Ok you need a strong, tall, smart leader that can run 4.7 or less. Don’t have to be super man.....even though Dobbs was to us!!!!!!!
Just watch his high school highlights and you see exactly that with Mr Josh Dobbs remained the SAME in college: hard to catch, smart, very hard to tackle by secondaries.....you get the point. Oh I know that Brian Maurer can run straight up the field but that’s not what I’m talking about. When you watch Dobbs high school highlights he looks like a grown man playing having fun with some freshmen.
The big boys in the SEC THAT MATTER EVERY YEAR have those guys and some teams 4 deep wouldn’t miss a beat. That is Tennessee problem. To be relevant they must get back to the mindset we all know.....you got to have a man running the offense to consistently win. Just a fact. Should have came in and worked JG in as a red zone receiver for 50/50 balls since it seems that’s all Pruitt and Cheney can draw up besides off tackle.
