Not sure how long you have been teaching mohawk turns, but I have taught mohawks in power skating for 35 years and as far as I know they are a forward to backward turn going from a front inside edge on one foot to back inside edge on the other. Used by defencemen who don't want to give up speed when transitioning from forward to backward. What you are doing is what I would call a heel to heel back to forward transition.

if no, could you be more specific on that maneuver?
i cant figure how you can go forward and be on the front of an edge
