LowCountryFishing yep I catch them in the shallows with a 3/16” cast net usually near the finger mullet. I prefer them over the finger mullet they last so much longer.
Silver with stripes, mud minnow legendary bait Redfish seem to love them , never caught flounder on them though
Yea they sit right near the shoreline in groups/cast net is all you need

What makes you prefer for jig head over a circle hook with a split shot? Wouldn’t a circle hook be better for live and cut bait?
The fun of “setting the hook” with the jig Head over the “reel down” with the circle hook.

Always mullet was the candy!
Those work too. But redfish feast off of mud minnows as well.
I have friends & people say the same thing, I guess I will try again and just blow it off as bad days of fishing.

Use a cast net by the shore
29" 11lb and bull red doesn't work in the same sentence. A bull red would have taken your 3000 spool and went home .
