"how can you not like him" uh because he has no boundaries, is unstable and prone to outbursts, and gets aggressive and demanding when things dont go his way
Imagine someone looking you dead in the eye and without changing facial expression or straining in any way yells so loud their voice *echoes* in a space that shouldn't have any echo capacity This is why Teddy is scared of playing patty cake with Bob, its not patty cake itself, it's the fact he's playing patty cake with fucking Bob
Well, it's understandable. He's more introverted compared to the rest of his family, and to some of his friends. I think that's another aspect as to why they bully him so much. Maybe bully is a stretch but I just feel bad for him when his family and friends make fun of him.

Fun fact the coach from Home Movies is the voice of Bob! “Home Movies” I couldn’t get into when I was a kid? But I give that show respect b/c that voice actor that played him came a long way playing Bob in “Bob’s Burgers”
You’re right, I dunno what it is but something about that line just makes me crack up. It does sound very natural. I think it’s the surprise in Teddy’s voice. The way he goes from genuine shock to outrage is hilarious. The voice actor really sells it.
I also love how right before that you can hear H. Jon Benjamin trying his damndest not to laugh. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Larry Murphy were actually playing pat-a-cake in the recording booth for that scene 😆
Reminds me of Dr Katz (Bouchard & Benjamin first show). They just recorded under a blanket in hotel room. Sometimes you could hear hotel people laughing in the background.
I wish there was more of this angry dialogue with teddy and Bob. I ended up watching more of the later episodes and it seems teddy becomes more obsessed with pleasing Bob while Bob seems more awkward about confronting him. It's so surprising to see these earlier episodes and watch them get mad at each other lol
i love all of bobs burgers but I think the earliest episodes are the funniest. them arguing all the time being one reason but in the first several episodes I'm always laughing.
My head cannon is that they just got used to each other's antics or they just don't wanna keep fighting about random stuff all the time so they just roll with each other's stuff and don't cause drama over nothing.
They softened Teddy more as we got to know him. He's a geniune part of the family and is why Bob is less ready to be angry with him. He started as the regular handyman/ customer but became family right after babysitting bobs kids, having bob help him get healthy, and spending thanksgiving together. The writers made them geniune best friends over time.
I guess it's development. After Bob accepted Teddy as his best friend and constantly got his kids and him out of trouble he's developed a tolerance. I did watch one of the newer episodes recently and it seems like Bob in general kinda got neutered. He just goes with the madness now when before he was constantly annoyed and upset by it
Teddy is one of the best adult characters, and I'm being 100% serious. He's cool, knows how to fix things, is nice with kids, will pay for his meal every single time, encourages Linda and treats her like a sister, tries his absolute hardest to not insult Bob and most importantly, laughs at their terrible, godawful jokes. Only bad thing about him is that he can get extremely weird and unstable sometimes. Makes you feel like he doesn't understand the concept of boundaries and just a simple...no lol. Which is interesting, because he's also awful at saying no to people.
And I think that makes him so endearing. He's clearly good at a lot of things, so you want him to have friends, which makes it hilarious when you see him try and fail. If he wasn't good at anything AND annoyed everyone, his schtick would get old fast.
@@Hierofan I was gonna include that part in my original comment initially actually, but I had to think about it honestly. From what I understand, many of these scenes are developed through H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy riffing on each other. So, whenever Teddy's being impossible or Bob's having a meltdown, it's good to know that they really are coming from a place of friendship.

Bob uses the same yes when yelling at Teddy 2:08 2:24
They used to do retroscripting where they'd play off each other now not so much
“…I don’t like those tiny cups! it makes me look like I have giant hands!”
I’m dying!
Get out! Get out teddy!!
I want to pay my bill!
Get out of my resteraunt!!
I want to pay my bill!
Lol i love that part
Heres your bill $4.16 pervert!
$4.16, pervert.
Same
3:45 is my favourite yell because it sounds like bob’s VA wasn’t even in a recording booth and an empty echoy room 😭😭
Teddy apologizing to the customer as he's mid crashing out on bob is so funny LMAO
2:05 Literally me and my friends arguing
🤣🤣🤣
2:05 My parents when they are arguing.😆😆😆
2:05 Me and my older brother getting into one of our loud, but funny arguments
2:14 this is hands down the maddest ive ever seen Bob. Like holy crap what were those tickets for?
3:37
Bob and teddy have the best friendship i swear, they get each other and always match each other energies so perfectly!!
3 years ago you forgot a tomato on my burger and I said nothing, NOTHING!!!!!
"Cars don't have batteries, idiot! They run on gas AND batteries. DAMMIT!"
I love that even though Bob was kicking him out, Teddy still wanted to pay his bill. Pretty sure Bob would have let it go, but Teddy still cared enough to pay for his meal.
0:57 "go on, scat - babuddy babuddy ba-buh-dah" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The “pervert” line sounded so fluid. I wonder if the two were actually able to freestyle in the recording booth.
“THEN BRING A CHARGER YOU IDIOT!!!!” H. J. Benjamin’s flying off the handle voice is the best
From what I understand, many of these scenes are developed through H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy riffing on each other. So, whenever Teddy's being impossible or Bob's having a meltdown, it's good to know that they really are coming from a place of friendship.
1:10 I LOVE HOW NON ANGRILY HE SCREAMS AT TEDDY 🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:24 AND HE IMMEDIATELY STARTS CHOKING 😂
LMAOOOOOOOOO THE FACT THAT HE PEAKS THE MIC
Boom mic.
KEEP THEM UP!!!!!😂😂😂😂
“There’s a million restaurants I can go to!”
“Then go to them all, Teddy!”
I don’t know why but that always makes me laugh
0:32 that’s the best shape Teddy has ever been in on the show ever
It has to be the Boydle holding in his gut. And then after the mechanical shark ate it, he’s looked a lot fatter ever since.
You see young muscly lifeguard teddy in the shark episode xD
0:29 I heard that little laugh lol
3:44 I just like how his face looks casual but he's yelling.
Teddy and Bob's arguments sound like TH-camr skits in the best way possible
Nothing will make me cackle more than when Teddy was looking for golf balls at the bottom of a pond and bob was yelling at him to go under but he kept gagging trying to breathe through the hose 😂
Must have watched this a hundred times now. Just noticed Teddys armpit hair when he's yelling through Bob's car window. Everything on this show cracks me up, even three little pit hairs.
I meant go not scat.
@@marcocastillo1087so I should go?
“GET OUT!”
“LET ME PAY YOU FIRST! GOOD LUCK BOB!”
I love the reverb in the background when bob starts yelling. 😂
3:46 the echo in the recording studio is amazing
Their fights are hilarious. 😂 Bob shouldn't tell Teddy to get a new phone if he won't take is own advice.
Did you bring Jimmy Pesto's fries into my restaurant!?!?
@@marcocastillo1087 You did this! Fix your damn fryer, Bob!
That patty-cake scene had me dying lol
Godzilla: Teddy how about you? Put up your hands.
Kong: No thank you.
Godzilla: I just going to have to cake with somebody.
Kong: Alright, Ow! I don't like it stop!
Godzilla: Keep you r hands up.
Kong: I don't like it! I don't like this!
Godzilla: KEEP THEM UP!!!
KONG: JUST STOP!!! Just stop Bob, I don't like it!
Godzilla: Dont lower your hands!
They got serious brother energy.
"Middle of the day and your phone is at 23%!!!"😂😂😂😂😂 "Cars don't have batteries. They run on gas... and batteries, DAMN IT"😂😂😂😂😂
2:07 - Teddy gliding off the stool LOL
