oh god someone else playing this in pve !!!
i just came back to the game this week after a 2y break. I tried to play the full blood build to run dungeons .... but damn it's still not fun. im missing so much my grace tree skills !
Yesterday while i was trying to go for a world boss (for artefacts) the tank player was complaining he cant engage it without a healer and that we are fucked (we did wipe). So i quickly switched my skills to my old beloved skills and managed to solo tank the boss (in medium armor) ... and it felt like the game was reborn lol !
tho my concern was about how efficent this can be as DPS in mutations. im glad too see you seems to run it yourself "seriously" and succefully !
    So i have few questions,
do you think/can estimate if/how much damage is lost copared to a usual full bleed build ? Especially now that the rapier artefact exist.. :x (i just checked your comparing 6mo vid while writing this)
im used to tank/off tank with it.. but... how are you dealing with riposte when the tank does his job well, everything is OK, and you can just stay in the boss a*s without being hit. Do you 'take the risk' to move trigger riposte ? or the debuff/CD% are not worth it ?
im getting a bit futher now,
did you tried an hybrid build of this two ? A bit in the vibe of the PvP bleed build kinda (tondo/evade/FnF) but with something like fnf/evade/flurry. Flurry's bleed and keenly jagged in place of tondo ? no time lost stacking tondo. and an increased survivability from evade (even tho it's nothing near riposte/evade).
    lastly,
im a cheap a*s and mostly a pvp player. i dont wanna run X pve setups for each type of mobs (not for now at least, i have like zero gold). What gem would you use on the rapier as a good all rounder option ?
anyway, thanks for the vids, your channel made my day :p

Firstly, thanks for the awesome comment and I'm glad you found my channel helpful! Since it has been a few weeks since expansion release, I have gotten a lot more comfortable with the build. I've been using this riposte build for what seems like 2 years now. And like what you said, sometimes this build just clicks. It is true that the rapier bleed build (with the finisher artifact) will naturally outperform the riposte build. However, I think a lot of the benefit of the riposte build comes from just how aggressive you can play with it. And that's not to say the damage is low. It still trumps most dps builds if played correctly.
You asked if a tank is playing correctly and always holding agro then what is the point of riposte? Well, it only gets value if you can play risky. For example the Cilla boss on lazarus I often will dodge around in front of the tank to put my self in danger so I can land a riposte (applying a 25% rend + empower). Then I immediately evade cancel and go back behind the boss to burn. In the end this comes down to experience and just how risky you want to play this build. But the more comfortable you become being aggressive/risky, the greater the reward.
In terms of other rapier builds, yes I've experimented with them, but they've never really felt the same as my tried and true Riposte/Evade/Flurry. That's just my own opinion though and I know these other builds like Tondo/Evade/Flurry or even FnF/Evade/Flurry are powerful on their own. I specifically like your idea of running keenly jagged and using FnF/Flurry/Evade. However, the one thing that sets this build apart from traditional bleed setups is that it functions on its own raw damage where you can still run a bleed rapier in the group and be fine.
For your last question about a cheap gem, it's always going to be a Cut Pristine Diamond for the increased damage while full health. Flurry is a self-sustain ability so you will almost always be full health anyways. Use less INT and more DEX for this setup.

Out of curiosity if you are trying to do the corrupted breaches alone any advice on survival? I feel like you almost need the corrupted resistance as the tick really hurts when you are fighting the different mobs there?

Ya portals are not easy to solo. If you want the best chance at survival use all the potions (Infused Corrupted Coating, Powerful Corruption Tincture, Infused Corrupted Ward Potion). As far as using rapier, try to sustain with flurry as much as possible.

Sweet, was literally trying to figure out what items/perks to go farm so this will be of great help ! With regards to spear abilities, I heard cyclone is good to use and you can combine it with leeching cyclone for extra heals. Do you still think vault kick is best ?

I would say sweep, vault kick, or cyclone are all great options.

Hi, are you not showing the UI for the hammer and spear, it would be cool to see what kind of assembly I have there. And what weapon perks do you use for the hammer and spear? Thank you
