You will love it when you get use to it! People on a couple forums and a groups on Facebook told me I was crazy and or stupid for running a 400 instead of a 80e but when I found out my truck was faster is faster than several of those guys CARS on Facebook who where acting like 6.40s in the 1/8 was flying for a street car then I post a vid on there of me pedaling and still running a 6.21 @ 115mph they got even saltier!! LOL

I had been hunting for a th400 in my price range for awhile and got lucky to see a guy on marketplace with a "turbo350" for 60$ so I had my wife go buy a th400 for 60$.. lol guy just didn't know what he had..

Getting a seat setup from a truck with full center console and two buckets would be best for that shifter then you could hide almost all of it in the console

I've been told that the LS and th400 wont work together because the computer doesn't have the speed input from the trans. Did you make this work simply by selecting non electric auto in hp tuners? Were there any other wiring mods needed?

Looking good man and in my 00 Sierra the brake and abs light are always on but it has great pedal and obviously stop's really good I put a kit from max brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads I totally recommend getting it for like 180 shipped and they're from Canada even better

You know, I tried to do it nicely and when it didn't work I texted a buddy of mine who does really nice builds and asked how he went about it and he was like, "just fuckin plug it in and zip it!" haha
I hope you get the bugs worked out and have better luck with the 400 turbo than I did.
so for the neutral safety you just put the old sensor in place and zip tied it up. what about wiring the reverse lights to the shifer. did I miss that part?
I would switch that range switch into neutral rather than park. With it in park it's going to have a fit and throw 200 different codes cause it's confused as hell why it's getting signals from everything when it thinks its in park.
Its probably throwing the abs and brake because you're now missing the speed sensor in the trans my man. Just changed mine out because my single cab was throwing all the lights freaking out speedometer
I do highly recommend getting a PTC converter specced out by Dusty Bradford in my opinion hes one of the best at speccing out converters for turbo setup's. I actually have one from when I had the 330ci ls2 deal I threw together and a big boy billet wheel t6 s475 with a 1.15 housing in my truck to get it running driving for about 2 months its a 9.5 converter 3600rpm stall with around 400 miles and atleast 100-150 of those miles things got pretty rowdy lol and around 25 1/8 pass's leaving on the brake probably 5 pass's foot braking the truck its a good converter for 800hp truck or heavy car

I have factory ci half filled ls2 with TSP crank, rods D.S.S pistons with the good wrist pins and nice set of ls3 heads with about 11 to 1 compression with a garret 85mm x275 class turbo its a Huron speed single kit, this go around I got setup with a 10" converter and zero complaints the truck makes so much more tourqe now. leaving on no boost and spinning it made two ugly 6.2X pass's @ 115mph I cant wait till i get time to get everything dialed in

In reference to the ABS and E brake dash lights: Your ABS module is probably going out. Common on our trucks.

You can fix that brake light with a trans speed sensor
Can it stay in drive and shift on its own or u have to shift ur self?
My 06 silverado has a open 3:23 rear diff can I get a limited slip complete rear from the junk yard n throw it in or will have have to mess with the computer? Same gear ratio is what i want just tired of 1 tire fires n it spinning around every little turn.glove box says gu5 with g80 but only 1 spins
What's the part number on the dipstick? Can you use the flexplate from Ebay on all ls/400 trans combinations.
I don't know the part number, but it's always on the shelf at the parts stores. And, I'm not sure if that will work with non 4.8/5.3's

If the truck thinks it's in park, won't your spark table be stuck in the p/n table all the time?
Copied and pasted the main spark table into the park spark table and blended them in the 0-1200rpm range up to .4 cylinder airmass. So far so good 🤙

Here’s a dumb question, but does the th400 have less of a Parasitic drain compared to a 4l80e?
I tried looking that up and couldn't find anything concrete. I would expect it to be slightly better but I don't really know.

Where do you get your gloves I have 2 pairs of them by i got them from Matco and haven’t seen them with the skeleton hands anywhere else
I got them from a motorcycle shop. They're not great as far as mechanics gloves go, but they're decent. Very basic with little padding, but comfortable.

Paul why not a 400 🤷🏽♂️ pretty much identical transmissions, only real differences are that the 4l80 is electronic and has over drive. If it’s a race truck now why not go with a lighter, stronger when built, and mechanical trans
Could you not just plug the neutral safety in and put it in the park position? Thats what i did on my 98 z28, just plugged it in and left in park position and shoved it back under the console. Edit* i see thats what you did lmao

Hey Can you help me I threw a lm7 in my 1987 c10 and efi tank with in tank fuel pump now how should I wire it I just need some instructions the kit I bought did not give me any info on how to wire it in
The ideal way is to run a relay. Mount it back by the tank, run switched power to terminal 86, power straight from the battery to terminal 30, ground to terminal 85, and the output to the pump comes from 87. This will allow you to get full 12v right to the pump in the safest way.
SniderTron 3000 dang my beds off my truck it’s a side mount tank would it be bad to wire the relay inside the engine bay also where is a good spot to tap into for 12 volt switched also do I need to run a inline fuse I got the magnafule relay I need wiring for dummies I never wired before and I have a learning disability so if I ask the same thing over sorry just dumb it down for me

Obviously it's better to have a filter then not on the street but their is a few people that have 10k+ on gen 1 78/75 without a filter. Hunter tuned had a few of them going, one with 40k miles without a filter.

I just lost 13:21 minutes of my life. Can never get them back. What is it with you home garage mechanics. Jeeez. Goat rope Garage spent months building a powerful engine for his Silverado and when he finally gets it to the track it blows. You seem to have a little more attention to detail than him but y’all are always plagued with small issues. Lol. I hope I don’t in the very near future. I got a cam to swap, headers, valve springs, lift kit, a smozula of stuff stay safe!!
