- Another round of bitter cold is settling on much of the United States, from the central part of the nation into the east. And the death toll from the winter weather rose overnight, while winter warnings are putting millions on high alert.
From coast to coast, around 30 people have lost their lives because of severe winter conditions.
Parts of the Northwest face heavy snow and ice. In Portland, Oregon, three people died after a power line fell onto their car. Authorities believe the victims were electrocuted after they got out of their vehicle. Only a toddler survived the incident.

Why do we repair above ground power lines when under ground they are safer
Ever done underground utility work, in an urban environment?
There's already a ton of buried services and utilities....simply digging a ditch and tossing in the lines, isn't going to work...

Gases in our atmosphere are fluids, so they always try to reach the equilibrium in terms of pression (or should I say pressure? English isn't my first language 😅) Thus, when a huge storm is heading somewhere, there must be another mass of air going in the opposite direction to equilibrate the pressure.
So what happened in the last week and a half? Three storms that formed over the Gulf of Mexico went north following the shores of the Atlantic ocean until they reach the Arctic ocean above Newfoundland. Thus, since 3 large masses of air went north, another mass of air went south; this is what made Arctic air go further South in the last week in the center of North America
And why are there more storms as climate becomes warmer? Because warmer oceans = more evaporation, which means more storms. In fact, all climate studies end with the obvious conclusion that total yearly precipitations in the world will increase in the next decades, and this year is no different as some of the warmest temperatures ever recorded in many oceans around the world were recorded this summer
Where is the existential threat of climate change, global warming?? 35 degrees below average.
Because seasonal weather extremes, weren't listed as a possible outcome of climate change/global warming?

I don’t understand why home owners; and apartment owners don’t have at least one generator for electricity whenever the power goes out from a winter storm .
They had all summer to get prepared for this powerful winter storm that happens at least once a year.
Probably because apartment owners aren't allowed to run personal generators .😮
@@Jenny.Anderson76 but the owners of apartment buildings can purchase a few generators to provide electricity for their tenants; it would be a great convenience for the tenants!

For starters, to figure out the issue yourself and start actively telling others. I live in the upper mid-west of the US by the Canadian border. It's been a mostly nice winter so far. Much better than a "mostly peaceful" protest. We all go to work, school and whatever even when it was -17F (freedom units) the other morning.

I am 75 years old. God created the climate to change gradually up and down to keep a perfect balance to sustain life in Earth. By the time you are 75 you would have noticed the subtle changes over the years. It is designed to change. If the Rapture happens, no worrys. If it is still 100 years off, no worries. God knows what HE is doing - and how to do it. The Thousand year reign of Jesus on Earth is still ahead. Nothing to fear about. In the meantime, live your life the way God advise in the Bible. Life is about what you do for other people - not about what the change in climate does to you.
