If a starting position was not earned, then the driver(s) and Team Owner(s) must have attempted to Qualify, at the discretion of the Series Managing Director, for the Race.” Where in this, does it say a driver has to start a race, it clearly says event The event starts with qualifying, which Larson qualified 10th.. Folks, this was “all” the talk for the better part of a week. That’s called free advertising. I’m not surprised at all by the decision. Maybe they should just get rid of the rule. I don’t know if that’s reasonable or not, so don’t beat me up. There should not be a waiver for suspended racers. They know the rules so they do something dumb to get suspended then that’s on them. This was totally different.

Plus he obviously had no control over the weather that started in Indianapolis, which delayed the start of that race, which was the main reason that he wasn't able to make the start of the Coca-Cola 600 and then the weather that hit the Coca-Cola sixyou're that ended up. NASCAR has always had physical altercations following races.. Daytona '79 comes to mind obviously...the two drivers involved in the wreck and then a third uninvolved driver pulls over to add to it...all on national TV for the first time flag to flag ever...NASCAR was built on fights, no matter the racing format, however I do agree, bring back the old points system. It rewarded being good every week, all year long, which is how a true championship team is decided.

Ruins teams seasons. If you’re good enough you’ll make the playoffs missing one race even. I know the argument is well what if other racers decide to take a week off. Nope. Stage racing is amazing. Along with the green-white-checker, and double file restarts, it's one of the smartest things NASCAR ever did.
