    Great video Stuart. Enjoying the way you are doing them. Just getting the bits ready to start cycling my Evo and would love to see a video with some step by step details of how you cycled your tank. Keep the videos coming. Thanks

      The AI Prime is a massive step up from the stock light and my IPhone doesn’t do it justice in the videos. Enjoy and let me know what you think, would be great to see your tank if you have any photos 👍

      Stuart Jarrett, yeah I’m really looking forward to getting it I’m doing a lot of research atm on the schedule and intensity to keep it at for coral health and colour, I will put some photos up here as soon as I get the AI prime in about a week or so, I’ll put one with the standard light and then one with the AI prime ;-)

      Yes, unless you are prepared to invest in making your own RO water (or going to the LFS for it) this is the best option. They are open 24/7 and is very cheap, costs me around 80p for 25 litres. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

    Hi Stuart, great video.. just out of curiosity how long does your 10 litre reservoir last before you have to top it up again? Thanks

    • @stuartjarrett2945
      @stuartjarrett2945  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Martin, thanks for the comments. The 10 litre reservoir needs topping up after 2 weeks on average, that’s if it’s full to the top and I don’t allow the level to drop too low so could probably last 2.5 weeks. In this video the water was topped up just over a week ago and isn’t even half way down yet. Hope this helps.

      Hi, there were really only two in the running, the other one was the Autoaqua smart ATO but this was almost double the price and the only difference was that this one produced and audible alarm if the reservoir was too low whereas the H2Ocean it is a flashing warning light. Hope this helps.

    • @nataliedebiase5089
      @nataliedebiase5089 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just realised this is as you had to take the stock lid off! What was the evaporation like before you removed the lid? Would i need an ATO?

    • @stuartjarrett2945
      @stuartjarrett2945  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you are keeping the stock light/lid then there is very little evaporation so definitely no ATO needed in that situation. It’s only because I bought the AI Prime light and replaced the lid with a mesh lid so that the fish don’t do a kamikaze on me 😂

      The water is purified and has a guaranteed TDS level of 0 which means that all the impurities have been removed from the water, leaving it purer than most fish shops. The TDS level is precisely monitored 24/7. I have been using it for 6 months in my reservoir without any issues. • @stuartjarrett2945
      @stuartjarrett2945  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the ATO will work if the sensor is placed directly in the tank rather than the sump section. Do you have a separate reservoir for the RO water ? What tank do you have?

      @@stuartjarrett2945 okay great, thanks! I have a ADA 10g rimless tank. I'm using a eheim classic 150 canister filter for filtration. I will most likely have a small 2g container for rodi water with kalk. I don't have any baffles in the back of the tank, just a plain old glass box.

  • @Wilfried78

    My H2Ocean smart ato just seems to stop functioning completely randomly. I get home and notice a H2Ocean ATO with a flashing a red light. And dry return compartment and noisy dry return pump. This is a dangerous piece of kit compared to a plain old float switch.

    My 3rd chamber only fills to bout 70% got the eheim 1000 so it puts a lot of water out. If i got a ato and set the sensor up high would that be sort it out and be ok?

    • @stuartjarrett2945
      @stuartjarrett2945  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For now I have stuck with the stock return pump so not as powerful as your Eheim. However, if you set the ATO high up in that last chamber then the sensor will continue to kick in and pump water from your reservoir until the level is reached and will then maintain at that level. Is there a reason you want your 3rd chamber water level higher than it currently is? In my third chamber I also have the heater so the ATO is set high enough to cover that. Ultimately, I like my water level to be half way up the honeycomb pattern when looking at the tank so when I switch everything off to do maintenance this is the level I fill back up to and then set the ATO accordingly. Hope that helps and I understood your question correctly, let me know if not?

  • @andyk7967
    @andyk7967 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you had any problems with this? Mine seems to be permanently on - even when the sensor is fully submerged in water.

    • @stuartjarrett2945
      @stuartjarrett2945  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. To be honest, I have not had a single issue with mine, works perfectly. The sensor is positioned in the return chamber where the water level is consistent (flat) as opposed to somewhere where the water level is agitated meaning the sensor is sensing a sudden drop all the time (if that makes sense?)

    • @andyk7967
      @andyk7967 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stuartjarrett2945 Yeah, mine's in the return chamber too. I just can't figure it out. I'm sure I am doing what the instructions say... to be honest, I thought it was pretty much plug and play. :/

      Hi Daniel, thanks for the message. I have just had a look and agree with you on the price but a couple of months back it was £35 odd. When I bought there were only 2 Nano ATO’s, this one and the Autoaqua Smart ATO which was £70-£80 and I was told was discontinuing. Maybe the price on the H2Ocean ATO has increased due to this. Try H2O Aquatics in Brentwood, that’s where I got mine and they have a website and deliver 👍
