The problem I had with the Evo was that due to the low volume of water when it came to water change and removal of detritus. There was not enough water volume to remove from the tank to properly vacuum the sand bed, this led to an accumulation of detritus. I have removed the sand bed and every water change a lift all the rock work out, brush off any algae, vacuum the detritus out and use the water change water to rinse the rock work. return the rock work to the tank and finish off with the water change. The media in the back, I only use the a single small sponge and clean it out every other day.

I think the trick is to redo the filter system w intank baskets and a refuge in chamber 2

    Hey,
Ya same thing happened to me I was doing a water change and after I usually check my salt after. But I had to go to my varsity high school game and didn’t have time. And my tank ran at salt 1.030 and I was fucked when I got home my two clowns were good tail spot blenny died had for few months coral ok they were fine but my one peppermint shrimp died also. What am trying to say is the hardest thing to keep up with in this tank is the salinity. Is the hardest because after one water change it like goes up one or two levels. Ya I would say just get a 30 gallon if you can. Way easier to handle. But u correct bigger u go easier in some ways like the perimeters and things in that department.

So you QC everything for 3 months but don't check your water change salinity?

Is it a wave maker or circulation pump. Thanks again!!

The hydro is just circulation. Sorry. No controller on it. But it’s not needed to spend massive money on a tank this size! I mean a Nero is more than the tank costs.
