Well , for me in this version only Siepi , there are many versions and productions , the Karajan version in 1987 in Salsburg it's a very good balanced production , i never heard to Jerome Hines in a commendatore role , today i listened a very good basso Morris Robinson ( a football player ) with an extraordinary powerfull low voice .

I too regret not having heard Jerry Hines as the Commendatore. I'm sure his portrayal of the role would have been outstanding.

    LA version !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    THE version !
    LA versione !
It will always remain my favorite version, the more intense one, even if I do like - and sometimes love - many other interpretations (Karajan, Harnoncourt, Guilini, Moralt,...). More recently, Rinaldo Alessandrini showed a very interesting vision of the work, and I hope he'll record it soon on disc, with well-choosed talented singers !

Bonsoir.

Cioè, come dire...
Comunque, come 'spalla', è efficacissimo

It needs a bass more fitting to the role. Here Don Giovanni’s singing overpowers the Statue, which sounds rather lyrical.

Disagree with you. The slow interpretation brings some more horror to the finale, especially when the statue appears.
