    Very helpful. I was trying to figure out what the "pre-wiring" meant and interesting that is only one of the many wires you need to run.

    Appreciate your video. Almost everyone doing this miss explaining that the switch plug in behind the fuse box has a connecting wire that is plugged into a dummy connector. You have to do the transfer. Unplug the two terminal connector from the dummy block and then plug it into the wire from the switch. Can be very confusing.

    Got my wife and I the same quads earlier this year. She got the ‘20 orange just like yours and I got the ‘19 camo. Both 450 dps. Started installing a winch this afternoon but it was rather chilly outside so it’ll probably get finished next weekend. Perfect video for my exact application. Love that detail of the red wire getting tied in at that white thingy up top.

    Great video, going to save me the dough from having the dealer install. OK..... waiting on the snow plow install :)

    think I'm running into an issue with the connection behind the fuse box... not clear what you did there? did you cut and splice a wire?

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a factory plug that is not connected to anything. This is an accessory connection that only has power when the key is on. That is how we got the power for the switch. If you would buy the true Can-Am kit or have the dealer install it, I'm sure the connection would just plug in. However we just spliced into it for our application.

    You didn’t have any problems with the seat hitting the solenoid?

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Surprisingly no. We checked it several times and still have about a 1/4" to spare. So far this has been a great setup!

    Did you have to install a aftermarket mount plate or is the frame set up for a winch from the factory

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame already has pre-drilled holes for a winch.

    very nice video. I just bought a new outlander 450 and I'm looking to put a winch on it soon. this was very helpful in planning my install. how do you like the warn so far? I'm looking at the vrx25.

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm loving mine! Probably a little overkill with the size that I got. I'll be making a video soon about a snow plow install on the Outlander, so stay tuned for that if you're interested. Thanks for watching!

      Hey I have a vrx too where did you end up putting your solenoid?

    • @williamcooper1023
      @williamcooper1023 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanryan3224 my solenoid is mounted underneath my seat in front of the battery tray.

  • @bmblewitt
    @bmblewitt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’d like to install my superwinch in the same way. Mounting the solenoid under the seat makes me nervous, because some of the metal connectors on the solenoid would be in direct contact with the metal bar that goes under the seat and up through the steering column. Do you think that’s an issue?

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see what you're saying and honestly didn't think about that when I installed mine. Overall I don't think it's an issue. The connectors on the solenoid are installed and aren't too close to the metal bar. If you felt more secure, you could always place some electrical tape between the bar and solenoid for extra assurance. This setup has been great for my uses so far. Thanks for watching!

    What tires are you running on there...what size...and are they true to size?
    Thank you

    • @TrailPass
      @TrailPass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark. These are actually the Sun F tires on Amazon. They are a clone of the Maxxis Bighorn tires at a much lower cost. These are the same stock size (25") but measure more true to size than what comes on most machines from the factory. Thanks for watching!
