The only thing I’m still afraid of is the soleplate since i tore my acl wearing the tekela on an AG pitch idk how safe those extra stuff are 😵💫 i’m looking forward to the 1 month review and see if you encounter a similar problem in ag regarding how clingy they are on ag. Love that mate! I reckon you'll absolutely love the switch to the low. I would say that ACL tears depend on a lot of things, and it's very easy to blame boots for it! More thoughts coming in a month or so!
New Balance really really have come a long way since returning to the football boots arena in 2015 and have been on an upward trajectory since 2019 with the Furon V6. They’ve really overtaken Umbro,Under Armor and even in a way Puma too as well as are up there with Nike and Adidas. Right now I say NB,Mizuno and Asics(NZ/Aussie/Asian market) are definitely the best alternatives brands outside of Nike,Puma and Adidas for consumers to buy. Definitely a pair that I’m gonna buy soon

Maybe a dumb question, but why would you train in one boot and play in another? Surely becoming extremely comfortable in one pair would be ideal. Every time I get a new pair of boots they feel so weird for like a week. Can't imagine what switching boots all the time would be like. Maybe if I could afford switching boots all the time It would be normal, I dunno.
That’s not much of a dumb question and I’ve also wonder that too but I later figured it may be because just to break in and feel the boots out while being able to get an input on the boots. And he switches to game day boots that he knows will be reliable and are most likely already broken in and doesn’t need to stress out too much if the boots fail on him during a game.
That's a great question! I only have between 2-3 boots that I use for games and I KNOW will be great (and how they feel on ball/on feet/and are broken in etc). The rest of the boots I use for training are so that I can keep up with all the 1 month review testing and have a REALLY good idea of how to describe all the different boots to people and how each one actually feels in a high intensity environment. I believe that I can't say shit about how a boot feels and performs unless I've properly worn them and broken it in for a while. Does that make sense? TLDR: a rotation of 25-30 boots I'm testing and wearing for fun during training session and 2-3 different boots for game days depending on what I feel like that day 😎

I believe the widest they go is 2E, so I'd say you could absolutely try the low top! It just might not be more wide ENOUGH for your feet. They definitely feel a bit wider, but that may just be retrospect
Not really! They fit completely different shape wise. I like this shape a LOT better, even though the furon was already fantastic. I think this soleplate and the way the shoe wraps your foot just fits me a bit better. 🔥

Whitch are wider ? New balance tekela low or furon. I mostly wonder who is widest in the tongue area and the area around the ankle. And mid foot. And toe box.
@@NoahCavanaugh They are much better than Furons imo, heel lockdown feels fairly solid now. Only thing that bothered me on first training was this top part of the heel where there are 2 materials overlapping, the stitching almost gave me blisters but hopefully it gets better.

I believe they'll release an AG version eventually (like they did with the Furon v7), but likely not in 2e width. So, I'm curious how the FG version felt after 90 minutes training/playing in 'em?

Hi mate! The furon pinched my heel a bit when I first tried them on as well - I'd recommend trying to break them in more and if that doesn't solve the issue, it might be worth looking into a different pair of boots... unfortunately sometimes certain models just don't fit quite right! 🧐
I completely agree on the widths , I’m on the other side of the fence I have a really skinny foot and have noticed brands making boots wider to try to accommodate more people. This approach is not the answer leave the standard models narrow and bring wide fits in for the fat feet out there. Nike is my prime example I have to wear Vapor’s when I’d like to wear phantoms but the fits are off.

They're pretty similar, although the bladed studs around the outside of the forefoot add a bit of extra lateral bite 🤝

Conical studs are best for AG besides pure AG boots.
Question for you: Do you find darker boots to be hot in warm sunny weather or is it just darker socks that would be the issue
Darker boots are noticeably warmer, especially on AG pitches in the summer
