Not a current slide player, but I think i could like it if i got a resonator , just not the same on my boxes.

John, if you cut a business card or matchbook cover place a strip of that under your nut, It will raise the string action just enough to make slide work on your box. It’s a nondestructive modification. Your bridge action, unless already modified to be very low, should be just fine. Tune to open E major And give it a shot. Again, let me know if you have any questions.

I resonator can indeed go a long way in getting inspired. Don't get me wrong any acoustic guitar is fun to play with or without slide but resonators have something special. I made a video related to this: th-cam.com/video/qc7mUmHeX34/w-d-xo.html

What kind (made of) slide do you use/like? Also what strings do you find work best on your resonator for sliding?

Hey, John. I use a Dunlop ceramic “Joe Perry” slide. I never really thought of Joe as a Slide guy, but I love the hybrid qualities of this slide. I occasionally use a mud slide as well.
I just use heavy acoustic bronze strings. I used to use massive dobro strings, but they didn’t facilitate my fingering technique.
      What do you use?
