The hero 6 seems to have a fish eye effect. It's not terrible but I wouldn't prefer it.
Yes this is a great review. I currently use the Hero 4. May get the 6 in the future. I do have a question though... how was the pumpkin pie? : )
I use 2 GoPro Hero6's for my vlogging and i love them! the in built stabilisation makes me so happy! and i just have an external mic attached to give me crisp audio, i just love the low profile and ease of use! keep up the great videos !
Oh and if it hasn't been mentioned before you can film with image stabilisation in 4K just drop it to 30FPS, works a charm!

Regarding the low light setting that you were unhappy with, you probably had the GoPro setting at a high FPS from previous shots (when using slow motion etc), and the higher the FPS rate, the lower the amount of light that reaches the sensor will be due to the shutter being opened for a shorter period. As a general rule, low light = low FPS.
For low light just avoid slomo and go with 24fps.. it will look great. Also don't bump iso's to high. Go around 400max. Also the part you're girl is filming you drive the car away in 60fps without slomo.. it's better to choose for 24fps in that situation. Only go with high frame rates is you're wanting to slow things down. It will look better :) but enjoy the camera. It's a great one✌

What if you output post production at 24fps even if it was shot 120fps? I like having the possibility of slow mo if I need it and not have every shot planned.
@@Yesletsjess ignoring possible quality loss for the bitrate is the shutter speed to be affected, faster you go on frame rates faster your shutter need to be, so you get a huge loss of light, you loose half of the light or even 4 times, not worthing if slomo isn't a big priority.

I got all the money saved for the 5 & looked online and saw "Hero 6 comes out tomorrow" & was like omfghg
Tried to save a bit more for the 6 but ended up between a job transfer with no income for 6wks and had to use the entire savings. It was heartbreaking. Been on my mind every week since

How long does the battery last ? Was it enough?
Depends on your settings, I can usually get an hour on 4k. If you're looking to use it for vlogging, you can buy extended batteries or mount an external power supply to your handle. Also, some devices like my EVO Gimbal allows you to plug your Gopro to it and extend the battery life. One of the downsides however is the mic. The Hero 5/6 mic is probably the worst Gopro mic yet. So you will want to use an external mic which requires a $50 huge mic adaptor.

Gopro 6 is a very good all around camera. If you want to shoot pro, get some light and you are ready to go. It might have problem with the darkest part but if you improve with some light equipment to buy, you can use this as a vlogging cam anywhere.

Well, you might think the sound is trash, but eventually you get used to it, it's actually decent.

You to are so cute! I just subscribed! Thank you. Would you recommend the GoPro HERO6? I was thinking about the Hero 5 Black since I have never used a GoPro.
I Actually was going to Buy a Hero5 Session but they no longer made them so I bought the Hero(2018) and the Hero 5 Black edition, and I LOVE them...I also did a give away of the Hero...but I use them Both for Vlogging and I have 2 Joby's for them...and a Osmo Mobile 2 for my iPhone X. I went as far as comparing between the Hero 5 Session and the Replacement Hero...and it was interesting and then I did the same with my Hero 5 and the Hero 2018.

It works but the audio is lacking. You really want an external mic...which requires Gopro's huge mic adaptor. Otherwise its a step up from the 4 with the LCD screen. You can sync a Hero 4 to your phone and use a phone mount but this makes things bulky and drains your phone battery.
i wouldnt even bother with the gopro mic adapter on the 5/6. all i have heard about it is how it is hard to keep plugged into the body. i found the audio passable on mine but what ive done is gone for the full external recorder route.

dont know if u already figured it out, but u have image stabilization on 4k.. just not on 4k 60 fps.. on 24fps u have image stabilization

Your not using a gimbal in any of these shots? You stabilized in post though right? Either way the EIS is pretty good on the hero 6

I vlog with mine just as is and it works out well, the sound cuts out sometimes on mine at points though so there is a small amount of footage I can’t use

Nope! This was done all inside the camera with the in built image stabilizer activated!

Just make sure you get one that allows you to take your GoPro further down, so you need to buy the suit for it.

These can't be 240 fps... unless she walks very very fast. Did you slowed down that footage to fit your sequence?
It shot in 240 fps in slow motion :)
You could slow it down even slower without losing any quality!! It's 240 fps!! 8 to 10 times your frame rate!!
Did you have to edit the modes every time you filmed or edit the slow motions on your computer?

Thanks for showcasing the go pro. I have a couple noob questions: do all action cameras have this sort of ... strobe-like movement (sorry dont know the terminology) for example when moving your hands in front of the camera it seems sort of jittery, like a quick series of stills, or when moving the camera very quickly.
Second is this footage here very raw or did you do very much color saturation and tweaking in post editing?
hey not sure abut the strobe like movement BUT tall the footage in this video had no post editing, so the colours you see are the original colours :)

What you mean is the shutter. The camera was probably all set to auto which means it’ll increase the shutter when there is too much light to keep a good exposure. The problem is that with higher shutter speeds you get the effect you mentioned.

the footage from hero6 in vlog is good... I want to get one... but as time goes, the Hero6 are getting worse and worse with the firmware update..so many issues and problem found?? (Freezing, Gainy, etc)... did you have those issues? what version of firmware on your hero6?

Good video otherwise but this is only 30 fps that makes all material jerky, to my eye at least. So it's really pointless to show that some material is 60 fps because in the end it's not. 30 fps is only sufficient if the camera is stationary.
