I run a gen 1 Kingslayer in IDPA and USPSA. Two matches per month for years now. About to dive into dots on EDC. Grip and trigger get hits. At my age I feel the dot gives me the sight package I need to stay alive. My irons only days are fading away.

People cannot imagine grip percentages properly. Just grip hard with the support hand and add pinky pressure fir recoil control.

I've always used old school thumbs down grip instead of thumbs forward grip never had to worry about which hand is 70 percent and the other 30 percent, the thumbs down grip aka Israeli grip works great for me!

A "surprise break" is taught to reduce shot anticipation and flinching before the shot breaks. Also do not get in the habit of pinning the trigger after every shot.

Get rid of that light and use the trigger guard as a finger hold, that light is a light beacon for a target.

Would you stop with that sh*t. It’s always fn best to be able to see what the F your shooting at. Stop with that beacon on light garbage. He’s not a sniper in the bushes about to give his position away.
Always Rock a light on your pistol.

Ok Jr., Not everyone needs the imaginary tacticool trinkets that added bulk to their handgun. 🙈😉🤣

That’s really bad advice for new shooters. An aggressive grip that incorporates your non-shooting index finger gripping the front of the trigger guard is the result of personal progression, and definitely is not for everyone. New shooters should learn fundamentals first, including a “proper” grip to start off with. As far as a weapons light, there are few benefits from not having one on a personal defense pistol. Like everything else, using them requires a bit of training and common sense. They should be used as a weapons light and never a “flashlight”. They also provide the added benefit of just enough weight at the muzzle to help tame recoil a bit. It’s all about education, training, and personal choice.

@@woodystube1000 a light on a gun in a gunfight at night is insane, you are gonna get your ass killed, it's like saying here I am shoot me if you can.
The front of the trigger guard is meant to be a contact point for the supporting hand, it's why Glock put stippling on the front trigger guard.
      👌🙄🙈🤣

@Davidgolden1776 You have quite an imagination about lights. If you are in a defensive shooting, you ain’t invisible.

People need to stop glorifying Trijicon sights. They are aweful and not even close of being worth the money they ask for. If you live in europe and get problems with your SRO or RMR - you're screwed when it comes to guarantee and shipping it to the states. I know Aimpoints are fugly - but at least they have a closed system and have a top notch customer service.
