Wow okay now I really want to read Strange the Dreamer now! I finally read Kingdom of the Wicked series and I really liked it! It was fun. The second was my favorite, I think by the third book I was a little over it but that's my own fault I should really take a small break in between when reading a series. I'm reading Haunting Adeline finally and its surprisingly funny, the FMC is pretty relatable esp with her mom. I can see how it might bother some, but I'm pretty desensitized from my love of horror so it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I'm having a fun time with it! I don't know what that says about me haha🙃
I personally didn't enjoy haunting /hunting adeline at all but I think it was miss marketed. I actually made an entire video about the books 😅 what did you enjoy about the kingdom of the wicked series? I have them on my shelves to read sometime hopefully soon 😊
@@CathysEnchantedReads ooh I'll watch have to watch that video, I'm still only halfway through so it may get worse lol. KoW has great witchy vibes, the girls are italian and the setting is Sicily and always referencing delicious italian foods, there's a mystery to solve.. well several mysteries/reveals really.. and the enemies to lovers romance is done well imo. The first one feels very YA but they get spicier later on. Definitely more romantasy than fantasy romance, and the story gets a little silly by the end but I'd still recommend.. at least the first two. Supposedly Throne of the Fallen is adult and even better.
It's the owlcrate edition, my partner got it for me as a gift and now that I've read them, I appreciate it even more ^^ How was your reading month? Any new favorites?
I loved the Spell Shop! Did you know the author is writing the book on the Librarian who created Caz? It's called "The Enchanted Greenhouse" and it's due out July 2025.
What a crazy month of reading you had! Amazing! Me judging hard Dark Lover cover 😂😂 When I see something like that it is a book red flag. I know I should bla bla bla but you kinda said it all! 😂

I'm so happy that Strange the Dreamer is now one of your favourite books. I adore that duology (and also Daughter of Smoke and Bone) and I really want to do a reread (but my TBR is so out of control 😅🫣). You made me curious about The Spell Shop, I might check it out.
I just finished Muse of Nightmares, and even if the book took turns I did not fully get or enjoy, I did like it a lot. I shoudl re-read Daughter of smoke and bone, I read book 1 years and years ago, but then didn't have 2-3 in the series yet. ^^
I'm taking note of your favourite books. I would like to recommend The Daevabad Trilogy, startng with The City of Brass, by S A Chakraborty. She has created a fascinating world.
Have you read Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy? I really loved that trilogy and I was finally able to get Strange The Dreamer earlier this year but I had to dnf 😭 I hated it so much and it was so sad because I thought there was no way I wouldn’t like it. Your edition is so pretty, much better than the half yellow, half blue version I had
@@CathysEnchantedReads I wasn’t a fan of the characters, how the plot was progressing, and I thought it was too overwritten, like it felt like it took several pages to get to the point of a scene and some things were repetitive which I don’t like. I thought things were also very poorly explained, it was almost cryptic the way she would introduce different creatures or other aspects of the world. I wish I had included those examples in my review since they’re so hard to remember now, but it made it really hard to understand what anything was and it makes it even more difficult to explain it
I think I get what you mean, there's a lot of gaps to fill yourself. I loved the first book but the second not as much because it took a totally different turn. Thank you for sharing your opinion!
