Love this build so much! Hate to see it go, but excited for what’s to come. So happy I stumbled across your channel. I started a build awhile back and your channel got inspired to get back into the truck camping lifestyle!!
Still my favorite Taco on TH-cam, period. I haven't seen anyone with a good build on a 2nd gen 4.0 extended cab. The 4 door's with 5' beds are useless. I can't wait to see what the future build looks like. You still need to bring that one over a couple of counties and hit up the Chilhowee/Ocoee areas. You have plenty of time before November gets here.
Love the videos and also the build. Currently building a 2004 toyota tacoma trd 4x4 extra cab. The truck was a neglected farm truck but I am loving ever bit of the restoration.
for 3 dollars.. makes a big difference! Sweet truck i got a black 01 Xtra Cab TRD 4x4 Auto. 318k miles still cruising, love these trucks there so much fun. Keep up the great videos
@@ConnorLee thanks for replying. My Tacoma is all stock and sits in the garage in case I need to haul something. My daily driver is 08 FJ Cruiser. I know...i'm spoiled
Hey Connor, just wondering how you’d go sleeping with a fridge in the same room that you sleep in, do you have to get used to the noise at all? I am considering what to do for my hilux. Matt
My old fridge was much louder, my current one isn’t too bad. If you’re doing a wooden buildout, perhaps enclosing it in wood minus the top would act as a silencer. I’ve seen some people have cooler bags over their fridges but that would make me curious about how it would ventilate. Outside of that I’d say positioning the fridge so the compressor is further away from your head when sleeping. Let us know what you figure out!
Beautiful! I am curious how you keep the camper area secure though? I don’t see a key hole to lock the tailgate and I assume the topper can only really lock from the inside?
It upsets me that this doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of views. This set up is 1 in a million, the truck it’s self is a STUPID good find.
I hear you man and really appreciate the thought! Hopefully we will get to those numbers!
I agree. These build are few and far, really clean work and a beautiful end result. Too many clapped Tacoma “builds” out there
Great video. Definitely like my dream rig. Good job bro. Much respect.
I really appreciate that G. Glad you enjoyed it 🤟🏼

I love to hear that and change is good! Either we find a better way or realize the old ways worked just fine! Thanks for being here brotha!
That is one nice truck build. Honestly I like the TRD red UCAs! Adds a little subtle pop of color. Looking forward to seeing V2. -Chris⛰️🚙
Thanks Chris! Maybe I’ll leave them red, time will tell!
i’m loving the taco brother!! miss you and hope to see you soon!!!
Miss you too buddy!

I’ve got some plans to head up into the Cherokee forest out by Ocoee here very soon!
sweet build m8
Thank you brotha!
I look forward to it. and I know many of us do. We love and appreciate you God bless!
I love to hear it and God bless you!
Been awhile since im in your comments section bro. Love the taco build on your first gen man
Welcome back and thank you brotha!
Thanks for sharing all of this man, can’t wait to get your help on my new setup! 🛻 ⛺️
My pleasure! Cant wait to see that shell on there!
My god I love that truck.

Beautiful truck
Thanks Ralph!

The process is the most enjoyable part. Going from worse to better is so much fun! Keep wrenching!
Can't wait to see what you're going to do with the bed part
I’m equally as excited as you are! 😎
So CLEAN!!!
Thank you!

@@Steve_0961 Any specific brand paint pen that you recommend?
@@ConnorLee I forget which brand but just get two decent 5-10 dollar pens and go over them twice should last🤙
The thumbnails tricked me into thinking this was a re-upload of the walkaround you shot in the same spot a few years ago lol. Great progress!
Haha I may or may not have done that on purpose 😂🤘🏼
Link to roof rack?
I found it on E-trailer.com but I'm having a hard time finding it again
I like it
It likes you🤙🏼
@@ConnorLee if your’e a yota guy you’d cream over mine buddy
I have the same rig....i might have missed it but what are you replacing?........a taller cap? a slide in?
Changing the cap all together to a shell/tent topper! Have you done any mods on your rig? Please do tell!

8:25 for the camper
Thanks for the timestamp!

The topper has two locks on the lift glass. I’ll be adding a aftermarket tailgate latch lock here pretty soon as well!
@@ConnorLee Awesome, you should make a video about that! I am looking to do the same as my 2nd gen also doesn't lock from the factory
That is a nice build.
Do you leave that HF solar panel on the roof 24/7?O or put it up when you need it?
It stays up there 24/7! Cheers man! Appreciate the view and comment
I say keep it the way it is. But put the off road toughest but hopefully you don't over do it, please!
What do you mean by off road toughest?
Don’t know if anyone said it but coat the bottom of that drawer in some wax and it’ll slide in and out like it’s on tracks
I’ve heard this and honestly have been lazy about actually doing it! Thanks for the reminder Ryan!
Don’t get rid of the camper shell please
Its time my friend! it has served its purpose to me. Even once I get the new one installed, I may still keep this fiberglass one handy!
@@ConnorLee I didn’t know you were replacing it, nvm do it. As long as you keep truck camping
Let me buy the shell if you are gonna get rid of it!
