He argued that the church was essential and there is a new movie about it: The Essential Church. When I saw the news saying that the black lives matter protesters were fine and they weren't endangering anyone's life's by protesting, I knew it was all about control. I was an atheist and a Democrat. I got saved and became a Libertarian but vote Republican. Edit: I'm a wife and mother but thank you for all your well wishes. ❤

God bless you. Yeah, I definitely woke up more in 2020 when what was going on locally was not what was being reported. Everything that was reported was obvious control stuff trying to control people by fear and other emotions. Just know those harmed most by BLM were those who fell for and got used and manipulated by the multi-million dollar BLM and what that group really stood for. Hint- it had nothing to do with actually helping the lives of anyone who was black unless they meant off a cliff for liberal gains. For those who don’t know the founders bought mansions off donations. They were literally trained in South America to be anti-America. The founders self profess calling on ancestral spirit (demons) and using word crafting (witchcraft). That all sounds unbelievable, but it’s the truth, something that BLM didn’t stand for was the truth, I won’t even get into that stuff, but it seems they understood the psychology behind saying a lie enough time that people start to repeat it as the truth. 😩 I will however say I first learned about BLM in 2016 when Obama was running and the news refused to play the footage of BLM lighting a gas station on fire with people in it in Milwaukee because it wasn’t the narrative. I looked at their website and it truly did say that they wanted to divide the family unit apart from each other. They are believers in Marx and that guy had money but let his family hunger and yet he blamed the government and not his gambling issues. The whole sounds nice but it’s evil is BLM. BLM had nothing to do with black lives mattering, maybe they felt their money mattered, as in taking it. please consider spending some time going on the answers in genesis website and watching the documentary/talk “one blood, one race.” It’s free and freeing! 💕 We are family.

MacArthur is "the old guard" when it comes to the Faith (like I regarded RC Sproul RIP)! Yes I've read of past claims of mistakes or misjudgments - fine, he's been in ministry DECADES and perfect doesn't happen in any church or business & we aren't infallible. He's authentic and I love him.

Over 1.11 million Covid deaths equals one in 300 Americans died. Why? It was largely due to Trump initially downplaying the virus , ignoring health warnings about superspreader and religious wackos claiming they knew better than science. Canada used science and vaccines. As a result their Covid mortality was 39% of the US.

I have SO MUCH RESPECT for this man. His knowledge of the Bible and his unwavering stance for God and the Faith is an example for all to follow.

@@avarysse5782 well I would say he isn't in the recommended category. He tells abuse victims they must remain with their abusers. Even though divorce is clearly allowed in scripture in this situation. Why? Because it's being unfaithful. And that is allowed according to Jesus. Multiple abuse VICTIMS have been kicked out and the abusers have gone to jail and been praised.
He also says adult children of pastors should be not unruly, and that they should step down. Well, his own son had to settle with the DOJ for defrauding people of millions. Yet there he is still the pastor of GCC.
One last thing. He says the Jesus Revolution is not of Jesus. Which is odd, since Greg Laurie experienced the transformation of Jesus Christ, and is now doing harvest crusades where thousands accept Jesus as their Lord every year. That alone means it was.
And then there's this whole thing where if it's not hymns it's not good theologically. And he condemns churches for doing those non-hymn songs.
I guess the biggest problem I have with him is that he is just condemning every secondary issue as a primary, and that is dangerous.

I love this man!! Such a Godly man. 2020 was a turning point for me. My church closed and so I found Pastor MacArthur on TH-cam. Now I am attending at a church where the pastor studied with Pastor MacArthur
I remember in 2019 there was New Years Eve prophecy from the Holy Spirit how every street in Europe and America would have a home church and movie theaters and stadiums would be made empty and people would no longer be interested because they will be in preparation for the move of God as people worshiped Jesus in the streets and parking lots. Everyone started cheering. I remember wondering what’s going to happen. 😂 scripture says, “we prophesy in part.” God gave a revelation of solutions to those who were listening to that “still small voice.” In 2019, without any fear or knowing anything that would happen, God put on my heart to always have enough in my house for our family and to share with others, in 2020 I shopped less and gave out more. Our feeding center shut down, it didn’t stop the body of Christ for making sure people got food and toiletries. 🙌 “God is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” “ Jesus said, my sheep hear my voice, they will not listen to another.” “ in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.” In 2019 I thought I was the last person in the world to have a home church, but my Catholic neighbor, a Covid nurse, had me watching her special needs child every single day, and we did church together on Sundays via online. 💕
I discovered Pastor John MacArthur on a radio station about 24 years ago. His teachings helped me tremendously. I went to the Strange Fire Conference, and that was an incredible experience. When I returned home and went back to my local church, they started "worship" that included a fog machine (Calvary Chapel). I snapped my John MacArthur Study Bible shut, looked at my gift from the Lord, and said, "we are done here." We skipped Skip from then on.
This man of God does not compromise the Truth. Thanks for the post Bee. Beeutiful interview.

My question is, was the worship leader adding it because he wanted to glorify himself? Maybe, but that's not really up for us to decide.
Oh and the disdain for Calvary Chapel... why? John MacArthur has wack theology, and a hypocrite, yet you ran to him. Calvary Chaprl is very basic in the presentation of the Gospel, because that's what Paul made it. Simple.
That's called the Regulative Principle of Worship. It's a pillar of Reformed Theology. You may want to look into it.

I don't have "disdain" for Calvary. I learned a lot while I attended it. I still have many friends that go there. I grieve for the church and for the departure from their foundation. Pragmatism had crept into the church slowly (louder "worship", brighter lights, and then the fog machine). I had more than enough, and it was time to start a new season.
John MacArthur is not the perfect Pastor either, and I am confident he will admit that. I did enjoy the Conference which comprised of many teachers, with some of them having strong disagreements with Pastor John MacArthur, but not over the essential doctrine.

@@Stevenowski those things, loud music, bright lights, fog machine are not bad in and of themselves. That would be called legalism, which is what the Pharisees were all about. If the pastor started not preaching the Bible, that would have been bad.
And John MacArthur, he is so adamant that he is right on secondary issues, that he claims if you disagree you are compromising your relationship with Jesus.
And I'm sorry, repeatedly not taking care of your flock (saying the abuse victims must stay with their spouse, is not) and also not following your own teaching means you should probably step down. But he is too arrogant and only has yes men around him on the elder board. A former elder attempted to point out that he might be wrong in handling an abused woman's relationship, and he was basically encouraged to leave the church. That kind of leadership is extremely dangerous.

John MacArthur is the premier Bible scholar of our time. I love his NASB Study Bible in which his commentaries explain God's character, wisdom, truths, and history. I've been richly blessed by his many writings and his ministries.
Please pray for Pastor John as he recovers from a cardiac ablation to restore an arrhythmia of his heart. As you can see, he has lost a lot of weight and fluids. About the same time he went to the hospital his wife fell and broke her hip!
I love Pastor MacArthur's preaching. I just discovered his preaching last week and I've been binge watching his & Pastor Justin Peter's sermons. Pastor Voddie Bachman is a great preacher too.

I love what John said about knowing from prophecy that things are going to get worse, not better. While the part of me that is empathetic and loves justice and truth wants to see a cultural and governmental change, the selfish part of me, knowing that each step we take into the pit is a step closer to Christ's second coming, prays that we continue down this road toward the end of this age.

He's great on many theological issues. I just don't like that he is dispensational! Really wrong on eschatology, sadly. But still a giant in the faith for the gospel.
the only genuine problem i have is as far as im aware he still hasnt apologized to the woman he disfellowshipped when she was being abused by her husband and she left him. Dude went to prison over it too, and instead of apologizing to her tried helping the husband instead.
Now if these things are false, i will repent as soon as i learn it, for i dont wish to witness falsely against anyone, especially a brother in Christ, but i do believe these to be the facts.
Im still confident in him being a genuine man of God, and i hope ill get a chance to ask him in heaven why he chose to do certain things he did, but i genuinely dont doubt him as a follower of Christ. But i also recognize him as a flawed human being like the rest of us.

Absolute hero. I hope he realizes (I think he does...) how his name/face/voice being attached to the "church reopening" movement was critical and absolutely empowering. I was living in Chicago at the time and just didn't see the effort, the initiative, the confidence, even the desire to challenge The Regime (Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Gov. JB Pritzker, Dr. Fauci, the CDC, the MSM). Specifically, at a few of the supposed "conservative" churches I attended during my 13 years in Chicagoland. And yes, I'm talking about you, Moody Church (Chicago) and Christ Church of Oak Brook. You waited till you were given permission by godless Liberals. You trusted "the Science" and "experts" and "researchers" and government agencies first.

This interview is priceless, and funny, but true, because Scripture is the LIVING Word of the LIVING God--the Bible isn't just a collection of distant and remote heroes. I am so grateful to God even to know who John MacArthur is--what a treasure, and may God grant him many more years like the patriarchs themselves--his mature sermons, particularly his most recent ones this year since his return from his illness, are a blessing, and his ministry reflects the GOOD side of technology.

Always good to see and hear Johnny Mac no matter which doctrines one holds on to. Clearly a brother in Christ and a man of God. So let’s be honest. It’s extremely difficult to find a church in most states that did not shut down for an extensive amount of time. Which unfortunately added to many walking away from the faith both altogether and those who simply no longer wish to participate in an assembly that would lose their spine so quickly and for so long a time. Seems there are quite literally tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands or more, who are simply watching the assemblies that they cannot get to online. At the same time there is a refining element that happened, in that there are many churches that were garbage to begin with that have shut down. It’s true, you know it is. Attendance may be down in person at many churches but it has picked up significantly elsewhere. People seem to be learning a heck of a lot faster this way as well. We can now jump through a dozen different sermons in a day to find those whom we have similar doctrinal understandings with and share/ bounce old and new truths with each other. In trying to shut down everybody. It may have completely backfired and although the legacy media may not remark upon it. I’m seeing and hearing a lot more people with a much greater understanding of the word. Now if we could just stop getting so offended about things that are not soul saving issues and move forward with the Holy Spirit leading and the armor of God as our defense we are unstoppable. God Bless You My Brothers and Sisters, stay in the word.

Totally agree with McArthur that church is essential in our lives. That we must be an example to the world.
JM is not a Christian, he is a deceiver and has deceived you and everyone else. The entire church is apostate and what you think is christianity is not the Christianity of the Bible.
