    I love Stellarium and use it pretty much for every session. Great software. I sometimes connect my telescope via ASCOM too. Thanks for the shout out!

    Super! Great video! Look, I’ve been using Stellarium for a while, but with these video I learned a couple of new features! Thanks a lot for sharing!

    I enjoyed your video on Stellarium it's a fine bit of software,myself I use Cartes du Ciel I find it works better for me when I use Astro Photography Tool.

      Hi Tam! Thank you for the kind comment. It’s funny you say that cause I actually use CDC as well with APT. I like to use Stellarium as my “pregame” software so to speak. It think It’s more aesthetically pleasing but yeah CDC for the actual session. 👍

      Most of the time I use Sky Safari on my iPad to plan my nights session, I'm lazy I use plate solving in APT works a treat.

    Aaron, cool man! Thanks for pointing me to this video, I did not know all the cool stuff you can do, I do have sky safari but this one should help me even more to find cool stuff with my scope or at least try lol.
    Boom💥 clear skies!

    One of the best quick run through Stellarium vids I’ve seen :) Subbed to your channel earlier tonight, you’ve got some great content! Thanks for sharing mate 👍🏼

      A.V.Astronomy I’m just starting out brand new to imaging...my plan is to use stellarium for finding targets and APT to get the data. Love the way I can plan images ages in advance so I know what I can image and when ..didn’t know that before I watched..probably obvious to most but for me that’s a brilliant feature 👍🏼

    Thanks for another great video tutorial Aaron. I’ve been learning so many little extra tidbits since I found your channel and slowly going through all your videos. Can I ask what your background is, you seem to have a good grasp of the mechanics and tech of Astrophotography for only doing it for a year.? Keep the vids coming!! Cheers John

      Teky Tek thank you for the kind remarks. I must admit, while I’ve only been doing astrophotgraphy for a year I’ve been toying with outdoor photography for many years and a lot of that skill set has helped me transition into astrophotography. However, I’m no expert by any means but am always striving to learn better ways of getting the best results. My goal in these videos is to pass down as much knowledge as I can to make it easier for the next person that wants to undertake this amazing hobby/journey. More videos to come and thank you again John! Clear skies.

    Why is my EOS 7i/800D sensor not listed on the sensor/telescope configuration in Stellarium?

    • @AVAstronomy
      @AVAstronomy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to go into settings and add the data into it. There’s some good websites that have the specifications for the sensor in your camera that you can then go in enter into stellarium

      Thanks! I went on line and got the sensor and camera specs, and plugged them in, everything is working now.

    Using only DSLR and Lenses the FOV isn't close to what I'm seeing in the field.

    This app is a no-go since I can't use it to plan satellite crossings. It doesn't display satellite orbits in real time like Starry Night.

      Send a note to the developers. I'm sure you are not the only one that needs this functionality. I bet they'll add it.
