    Hi Bre I have to tell you I am 69 years young & I love your channel. You are such a ray of sunshine and I enjoy your channel very much. You have such a good head on your shoulders and you know what you want and go for it. Keep being the strong woman you are and live life the way you want. Much love and admiration from PA.

    SWEET POTATO TIPS:
    When those vines get going really good and you have to trim them back, EAT THE LEAVES 😋 Also chop up and do a VERY quick Blanch (they go from soft to mushy wayyyyyy faster than other greens) and freeze in bags marks with how many servings are in there for the cold months.
    Take cuttings and root them (or plant with their roots that might already in place) in planters for beautiful foliage.
    Keep those slip potatoes going for more slips to use inside and outside for foliage.
    Harvest after the first light frost.
    Make sure you have your methods in place to cure them so you don't get overwhelmed. I recommend the plastic bin/heat mat way. Some people super humidify one room for weeks and that just makes me paranoid about mold issues down the road in that room.
    Curing is neccesary, especilly with purple ones, to access the full sweetness of the potato as it forms those sugars.
    I harvested 60 lbs last year and then learned oh shoot I don't have the space to do the oven method because I need my oven and can't leave it for weeks on end doing 60lbs of potatoes haha

      Wow Ive struggled with curing sweet potatoes as by the time I harvest its cold outside and we dont have humidity. A plastic storage bin with a heat mat would be perfect! Ive never heard that method before. Thanks for recommending!!

    Wonderful video Miss Bri. I was also wondering what program you use to plan out your garden? And have you ever heard of seed time? I’m thinking of trying it out, because this is only my second year at gardening and I could use the help figuring out when to start seeds indoors and the whole spring and fall growing thing. Again thanks for your gentle heart.

    Hey @itsbreellis new to your channel! Do you hand water everything or do you have drip irrigation? I've seen a dew ojas - great idea for inside grow bags! Wondering what your watering routine is - what/how/when.

    • @itsbreellis
      @itsbreellis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do hand water. I have Oyas in some locations. During mid summer Im watering almost daily with how dry and hot we get. This time of year may be a few times a week. Takes me about 30- 40 min or so

      @itsbreellis wow that's great, I thought a garden that size would take much longer! I do container gardening on our deck and have a community garden plot. It takes me quite a while, but that is because I'm doing it with a toddler and baby. Haha. To water the community garden is a whole big task trying to drive kids over.

    My Mom had the greenest thumb I’ve ever witnessed! We’d be out in the woods and she’d find a twig of a silver maple. 40 years later they needed a crane to remove it. It didn’t matter where, wild, neighborhood or garden center she would steal a leaf or a tiny section of the plant, soak it in rapid grow and then replant after a time. Mother’s Day was never an issue, a gift certificate to any garden center. ♦️🌿🍃🌺🌹♥️🌹🌺🍃🌿♦️

    I'm on Ohio and i have to say this was by far one of the easiest years to harden off my plants, so many overcast perfect days for it, my garden has been in now for a couple weeks and it's really taken hold so well and the volunteers are way bigger then last year.

      That’s so exciting!! And all the metal ones are from amazon. I have them linked in my store front. Anything wood we built ourselves. I have 3 8x4’s, the inground space and the small bed that lines the trellis! The trellis is just cattle panels and t posts!

    Could you make the cats a small run? We did that as our cats are basically indoor cats and with the run (right near our garden, they are out there now all day with us and love it. All we used was some t posts and wire fencing and then put a wire fencing roof over it as well. We made a little trap door cut into the wire that we can open like a flap to get them in and out and also that we can secure with a bungee cord. They have a great time and it was cheap…🥃
