    Saw Chicago 2 weeks ago... Was blown away. The last time I saw them was with Jason and I was disappointed as his vocals just didn’t have the strength of Peter Cetera. This time, when Neil Donnell first opened his mouth, my jaw DROPPED. This guy is the real deal and has revived my love for this band. His voice is very strong and virtually identical to Cetera! Yes only a few originals left but the music of Chicago lives on with these amazing new band member additions!!! I will see them every time I get a chance to!

      The more I listen to Neil, the more I like listening to him. And, I am a die hard Peter Cetera fan! I haven't enjoyed listening to Chicago this much since 1985.

    I don't give a damn what the naysayers say, these guys can rock the house of the foundation! True musicians!! No, the band isn't all original, but the damn music is!!! And, edu5778, thank you SO much for sharing!!

    I first saw this incredible and my all time favorite band in October 1972 at the El Paso Coliseum! Later I saw them at the Civic Center when they had open floor (yes, no seats) seating!! I wish to see them at The Plaza Theatre one day (we live in VA).

    New bass player does a really good job. New lead is doing much better. His voice is gear more toward songs in key that Robert would sing. Love Robert Lamms voice, its pure Chicago. Keith H. is probably one of the best lead guitarist Chicago has had. I love Terry Kath RIP Keith was a great fit. Keyboards rock. I wish they had a deeper vocal to create that Terry Kath soulful sound, and perhaps ad someone to do the more difficult Peter Cetera songs. Heck Peter sings his old songs in a much lower range than the originals. I am so glad these guys are still rocking ! My all time favorite band !

    I would love to see another album or 2 from them. I truly think they got it in them. I really wish Jeff Coffee would have worked out. Perhaps Jason would drop back in. They could do like Kiss
    and have a guess appearances of past members and still keep the current crew. Just all depends on egos. I love the Robert Lamm sounds of Chicago. The sound is so good.

    • @karenhein8792
      @karenhein8792 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trouble seems to be that they can't get any air time with new songs and the audiences in general don't seem to appreciate the new music. I would LOVE a concert for those who are the fans who know more than their #1 hits. Something for those of us who are NOT Bears fans and yet we're wearing their colors this year.

    • @TheTunecreator
      @TheTunecreator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      JEFF COFFEE brought me back to this band after seeing him play. He did all the Cetera stuff really well but still was able to be himself. He is also an amazing bassist. But I agree this guy here singing lead is the best they have had to sing Ceteras stuff. LETS BE HONEST if you go watch videos of the Chicago live show from the 70s and 80's Cetera couldn't or didn't sing his hits that good live either. Robert is still killing it for a guy his age. Love Lamm. He sang a lot of the FIRST big songs that made this band come alive. God bless all of them. Danny too

    • @sticks64
      @sticks64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The new singer, Neil Donnell is from Canada. Walt retired several years ago due to health issues. His last performance was the band's induction into the RRHOF. Even then, he hadn't played with the band much for the year before that. The new bassist is Brett Simons, who has played with Melissa Etheridge among others. I'm happy to see that Wally is now on the drummer's throne. Playing percussion now is Ramon Yslas. Great lineup!

    Pankow is a rock stat, Bobby Lamm is a pop star and poor ol Loughnane is a dork. It kills me when they fist bump each other after every song. Happy they remembered the lyrics. Chicago used to be a great band, but now their a Vegas act. Just too many changes

      Tris was a much superior drummer than even Danny Seraphine which is why he lasted as long as he did. He’s a cancer survivor and Wally played percussion along side Tris. I’m glad Wally is now playing, but agree he’s better. Definitely versatile

    Playing Ballet at double tempo??? Very rushed sounding. All of the tempos seem rushed.

    • @cr3979
      @cr3979 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just checked compared to 33 1/3rd album here and.....these guys are all over the place for tempos. The feel that Reyes Jr. exudes is giving and taking away from the classic sound which this band is known for. A band like this is only as good as it's drummer and in my opinion, as a drummer of 60 years old, I wish Danny was back doing it right. The little man is still capable and the original swinger! Yes???

    • @tate_berkey
      @tate_berkey 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      C R, if you watch some more recent interviews with Wally, he talks about how on most of the tunes he’s playing with a click. I doubt by choice, but more because I think they have been using some backing track vocals and what not to “beef up” the live sound.

    • @PintoSeminars
      @PintoSeminars 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cr3979 As a drummer for 60 years, you should certainly know how inconsistent Danny's tempo was. Danny, a Legend for sure, but Chicago plays to a click. Danny fought playing to one. Its all in his book. And btw, you should have noticed Wally is like a time machine.

    • @PintoSeminars
      @PintoSeminars 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All their tempos live are pushed. They play to a click. It seems most artists today seem to increase the tempos on their recordings when they are live.
